Geez, I simply cannot believe that I disappear for 3 days and you guys almost completely fill up a whole new thread!!! Are we getting excited, or what????

I'm finally coming up for air for just a second. It's been a CRAZY week, full of emotional roller coaster rides! The kids had callback auditions for Les Miserables on Monday and we had to bite our nails waiting on the results of that one. Alison was beyond ecstatic to have been cast as Eponine, but Erik was devastated that he was edged out for Javert. It came down to him and one other boy, and the other guy got it. It's especially hard because this same guy (he's a great guy and extremely talented!) swooped in at the last second and beat him out for Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing.... as well as Troy in HSM just this past fall!

Then, because we're insane, we "have" to (it's an even longer story, but it's political) also do Cinderella this spring (R & H, not Disney) and Erik is up for the prince. After the huge disappointment earlier in the week he REALLY is hoping for that one! Last night was callbacks, and we get to bite our nails again until Saturday when we find out. :scared: Alison is hoping for the Fairy Godmother. It looks like it's between her and one other girl, but she doesn't really care that much. She's so happy about Eponine that nothing can faze her.  :cloud9:

As if that weren't enough, they're both starring in a charity production of You're a Good Man, Carlie Brown (Charlie Brown & Sally, respectively, how cute is that???) to benefit families of kids with autism. The production goes up next Thursday and Friday and we're all losing our minds. Erik doesn't even know all his lines yet!

NEVER AGAIN will I commit to 3 productions at the same time; NEVER!!! Add in Alison's gymnastics schedule and we have a bunch of folks ticked off at us (I don't blame them in the least!) because we keep having to leave one place early, only to be late to another.

If we all arrive on the ship with a twitch, you'll know why! I keep telling Erik, especially (who's trying to keep up with 3 honors classes plus Anatomy, Algebra 2 and Spanish 2) that we only have 10 days until we can put it all on the shelf and just relax! I just hope none of us ends up sick from the stress!

Wow, I didn't mean to post our life story, but sometimes it helps to just sort of spill it all out!

Anyway, I probably won't have time to post much before we leave (You think???)) but I do try to read a bit at night (when I can't sleep from the stress!) and I wanted to say WELCOME :flower3: :flower3: to the new folks and to report that we got our DOCS yesterday afternoon!!!:cool1: :cool1:
WOW! Good luck with all that. You're all definitely ready for this vacation! :grouphug:

Lisa, here is what you should know. We have 6 lanes on our freeways and we tend to drive fast. As long as you are OK with that, then come ahead!

tomorrow I'll post all the port info again.

Thanks, I drive into Washington DC most everyday. 6 lane highways are fine. If I have a GPS......What limos are people using??

I'm sad about my downgrades but I'm glad that I'm still going. Life is real. God Bless the IRS!

Sorry on this news Deb, I know you were looking forward to that ocean view. But wise choices to down grade and enjoy :thumbsup2

prayers up, can you give us a name to attach with them please?
Oh, sorry about that. Her name is Lisa LaMaire. I know, last names are probably not a good idea to post, but in this case, it can't hurt. Thanks so much.

I had dinner tonight after work with a former co-worker who is also a friend of Lisa's and we're going to see if we can visit her next Saturday....and then as often as we can.

Monica:

Does that mean me????

Michelle, Holly, Lisa & Steve, let's talk about this because I thought one of you was bringing them on the boat????? Michelle, you have something to attach to them right?

I didn't realize that there was a Part II - Michelle & I touched base a little bit and we joked about giving the box back to you in the Hummerzine.

MICHELLE - let me know again when you'll be here & where & we will set up a meet :thumbsup2

Well, I guess it is now official.

We ARE going on this trip!

Cruise docs have arrived! :cool1: :cool1:

Guess I should PHONE Shannon and let her know, right Nan? :rotfl:

Or should I wait til she reads it on here?

or phone her to say I LOVE YOU :lovestruc

Men, you just don't get it do you

Don't they sell it at Costco but under a different name? (Immune Fizz)

Yes, it was once called immune fizz but now it is called zip fizz with immune support. It is 19.99 for 24 (?) packets and is sold in the back by the bottled water and stuff. Geez, you would think I get something from the co, but nope, just recommend the stuff a lot to patients.

Just to let you know my opinion, we stayed there last summer and we weren't impressed. The hotel is pretty and nice but the rooms were not that great. The pool was nice so if you are going to do that then maybe but other than that, I wouldn't spend the extra money.

As far as the hotels I usually just stay at the Paradise Pier as it is so much cheaper and really we only sleep there.

I just got an email from Orbitz and they are saying we will have to pay the additional charge even though our ticket was purchased prior. Did you get the info from Northwest?
When areyou flying down and where are you staying before the cruise? We fly out of DSM fri morning.

Sorry on this news Deb, I know you were looking forward to that ocean view. But wise choices to down grade and enjoy :thumbsup2

The most important thing is that I get to go and share with all my family of friends. And just think, eventually we'll get the money and won't have anything to spend it on. So we can save it for our next trip.;)

I want it recorded that I did try and call her but she is in meeting so I couldn't get through!

It's not my fault she doesn't know. I tried. Honest.

(Why do I have feeling I'm damned anyhow?) :rotfl:

because you are :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We are on Deck 7 too. Cabin 7032. I tried to follow this thread earlier this year, but I can't keep up with you all! I can't believe we leave two weeks from today - YEAH!!

For this trip it will just be my Mom (Bonnie, Age 72 and me, Donna Age 51). Normally we take assorted nieces and nephews along on our Disney trips so it just seems like something is missing right now.

Tomorrow I am going over to my Mom's house help her start packing. I was going to try hard to get by with just one large piece of luggage since we are flying Northwest (they start charging for the 2nd piece of luggage on May 1) but I don't think that is going to happen. The pile of clothes I have started is already huge.

We both received our cruise docs earlier this week.

We are staying Friday night at Beach Club (DVC member). After the cruise we are staying on night at the Disneyland Hotel (also points). We are taking DCL bus from resort to port and vice versa.

I am looking forward to cruising with you all!

Donna
Nice to see another Michigander family! My aunt & uncle & cousin live in Comstock Park and my aunt works at the postal service in downtown GR. I try to take my son to the GR Children's Museum now and then. Great place, great city! :thumbsup2
