Okay, I read the story. Seems that the robber was kicking the office door while my DH, a bartender and a cook were trying to keep the door closed. He fired multiple rounds through the door while yelling, Give me the money!. My DH was hit by one of the shots and later died. No one else was hit. The bartender pulled my husband into a back room after he was shot away from the robber.

I have always believed that we all have a certain number of days on this earth, we don't know how many that is. In my beliefs, only God knows. I have to believe that it was my DH's time to go. I have to believe that my DH had a wife and two children who loved him dearly, and he will be missed by many many people. My best friend told me that I was married for 18 years to a man that I loved and loved me back. She said I was lucky to have had him and that not everyone can say that. She wasn't being mean, just trying to get me to cherish the love that we had and concentrate on that rather than the loss that I feel. Some days I can. Other days I can't.

Sorry to be so serious. Go give your kids and your spouse a big hug and tell them that you love them! I guess that is the point of this post.

Thanks for listening...

OK...what the heck are you all doing? 171 pages since Friday late night???? I miss Sat & Sun and you all go wacko on me.

I doubt I'll catch up before you're on the next thread, but I'll try. Super busy today at work but wanted to say HI. I'm back on page 23, skimming like crazy, but have too much work here to get any further probably.

Super fun weekend though! It was finally warm enough to do outside stuff! So on Saturday, after one of Tyler's classmate's birthday party, I took him to a playdate at a park with another classmate. Sunday we spent the day at the Detroit Zoo. :cool1:

Hi Holly! Most of the weekend posts were the west coast 3 plus a few extras!!! Madness, mayhem and almost murder!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Glad you had a lovely weekend. Nice to have you back for a while.

I saw "21" the other day...I hadn't heard that line before then. Bubba, do you haunt the casinos?:smokin:

There is house flipping show based in Charleston, SC(?) and the owner says this all the time, lol. In that thick southern accent, too funny.

Goodmorning all from the chilly bay area,
It is supposed to be beautiful later this week, but a bit on the chilly side this morning. I'm teaching a large group of kids with learning difficulties this morning - it's one of my favoritie places because the teachers are amazing in the way they focus on organization with the kids. Then off to the city to meet another Diser from San Diego for Sour Dough Clam Chowder! YUM.

Let us know where you are and Molly and can stalk, oops visit you. We are out of school this week, and fairly flexible. You've got my cell give me a call we'd love to take you to lunch or dinner or a Jamba Juice, whatever works. Nan

I think on Thursday afternoon I'll finally have a break at 3pm. I'll call you before then. I cram in 3 schools on these trips so other than today they keep me talking all day and night!

Tammy it sounds to me like your DH saved their lives. I'm proud of him!

Morning all,

Nancy just asked me a question, that I thought I knew but wanted to make sure before I answered

"Are there any ATM machines on board ship?"

There's an interesting item on the main page about 'sea legs', you know the old drunken sailor syndrome....I remember when I did a few long cruises with the gray funnel line (Canadian Navy) it took a long time to adjust to solid land...your body is so used to unconsciously adjusting your balance to counteract the movement of the ship...it takes days to walk normally

Tammy - so sorry you're having such a rough time - and a hurt thumb on top of that!!!

Just keep remembering that in 33 days we will be on the Magic and you WILL be smiling and laughing. We will all make sure of that!

Feel free to continue to express whatever you'd like here to us....we're all here for you and the kids. :grouphug:

John, thank you for the update. A good liver is great news! The rest is time and meds/cemo. A lot of hard work for your brother and the family, but you will pull through.

Tammy, this cruise can't come soon enough. You and the kids just need to be out of the stream of information/questions/curosity seekers at this point.

wow, the Flower and Garden show sounds great. This is the first year in a while that we haven't been! :( Maybe we'll have to take a day trip.

We would enjoy that.

We are in the preliminary stages of planning a week in Sedona on 2009, and maybe a stop in Phoenix to see Jackie and Peg, and to meet Boo.

Woody

That's a hop, skip and a jump from me! In fact, one of my sisters lives there. I'd love to get together with you, either there or I can show you around here.:goodvibes

Anybody check for room assignments this morning?

....off to work for me.....

....later kids.....

Shure.

Woody

Wonder who else got this?

I did! I also got the reference to the strobe to check your turntable. In fact, I still HAVE a turntable! (Insert smilie of very old geezer)

Not much time to do anything other than check in quickly and say good morning. Thank you to all of you once again for your prayers and thoughts.

They removed a large portion of my brother's transverse colon yesterday, along with part of the small intestine where it had crossed over. They also removed his appendix. It was a fairly large tumor. It was cancerous of course, but his liver looked good, although the lymph nodes looked enlarged according to the surgeon. In his estimation it was a 3-b cancer.

He will be in the hospital 7-10 days, and then off work (he is a teacher) for 6 weeks so this ends the school year for him. After about 4 weeks they will start chemo, and he has a good chance of full recovery, but with cancer you never know. He was in surgical ICU all day yesterday and sedated because of all the weight he carries.

Thanks again everyone.

John, that's wonderful news! I'll continue to pray for his recovery.

Thank you for letting us know what happened.

You are a stong woman. I'm am thankful that you believe in God - just remember that He is there for you and that He DID welcome your DH with open arms. You are very lucky to have found someone to love and who loved you back, plus you have 2 wonderful children that will be a testament to the 2 of you.

There will be good days and bad days - just remember that you are surrounded by people who love you and who will continue to say prayers for you and your kids.

John - thank you so much for keeping us informed. Continued prayers, PD and  to you & Manuel. There is some good news that came out of the surgery :goodvibes

Don't forget to take care of yourself too. No need to have you running ragged. BTW when does Amy come home?
