Any updates on John1's brother Manuel? I just got caught up and didn't see anything, but maybe I missed it?

There is an idea. Instead of all kinds of Disney things upon our door maybe we could treat the door as if it was a wall at our own house back where ever we came from.

would yours have anything on them, or just be blank and clean?

I remember shopping at Macys and buying Guess jeans by the dozens. They were all kinds of great acid wash colors and you could buy a jean jacket to match them. I also had all the tshirts and even the book bags in all the colors.

man you were one lucky kid, I saved for a long time to get ONE pair of guess jeans...

Maybe one day before the cruise I will have to make a shopping day at the Gunne Sax/McClintock outlet. They still have the one in SF it is open til 5pm everyday.

what would you buy there now??? even the Mcclintocks aren't my fav anymore...

I'm all packed and ready! I talked to DCL and told them that they were NOT to assign any rooms until I came back. They agreed!

So do I! My DH says we call 'first showers' for all of us still in the lifeboats!:rotfl: (You'd think that was funny if you knew my DH.)

Vicki:flower3:

don't worry marilyn and gydell, I told you that you can shower at our room. You aren't coming in stinky, you must shower to get to the verdana :lmao:

I'm probably a little biased (ok a whole lot), but I absolutely love BC. Now I'm not a real big world traveller, I have been to a few places, but nowhere have I gone that can have such drastic climate differences in one locale as BC. The foothills of Alberta/BC come close, but just driving from Prince George to Vancouver you can be amazed at how much the scenery changes. You can go from the rainforests of the Lower mainland, to the semi-desert climates of the Thompson, to the western vistas of the Cariboo and into the thick forests of the Peace. And that is all just along one highway. Sometimes thsoe of us that live here really take it all just for granted.

A prime example was just a few weeks ago I was driving home from work (I live 120km from where I work), and on the side of the road there was a Moose just foraging for food. I hesitated a moment and thought to take a picture of him, but Ireally wanted to just get home so I kept going without stopping. It dawned on me afterwards, that I would bet many on this thread alone probably have never seen a moose in the wild, and certainly not that close and would have certainly stopped to take a picture. But I know that I will see the moose again one of these days so it wasn't a big deal not to stop and take a pic.

Those are the people that watch the Africa-Cam. Maybe you should start the Cananda-cam 'eh?

I've seen moose myself, in the wild, in Jackson Hole WY...

People, if they can't read it for themselves they don't deserve to know. Just tell them nothing happened.

Have pity on the Queen from the South. I have spent my day taking care of two old sick people. At least you can be a little nice to me :goodvibes :goodvibes

Now what did I do to you for you to be mean to me? That's what you have Gaylean and Marr :rotfl2: for.

well you going to St Marrten for a week, that would be good cause in my book. But other than that, nothing, yet....giving you the look here...

and now, I'm going for a shower, all this clean talk made me feel dirty...

I still have some 78's and a bunch of 45's. Yes, and a bunch of albums 331/3's. I also have a bunch of old 8 tracks that are worthless because the tapes are so old they are breaking. Then there are the cassettes, the cd's and the iPod. Wow, what a cool thing the iPod is. I thought, "if I could have had one of those back in the late 50's wow, I would have been popular. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Okay, who has been to a sock hop? Has known a beatnik? Has been a hipster, flipster, and a finger poppin' daddy?

I sold my dad's 78's--he had a bunch of Nat King Cole and other jazz of that era. But I have all my 45's from the 50's & 60's and all my albums. My ex and I had a juke box at one time and put all the 45's from our era on it--it was really fun! I've thought recently that it might be time to get rid of the albums, but I don't think I'm ready to part w/the 45's.

As far as knowing a beatnik--in the 50's and maybe early 60's there was a coffee house/bookstore in Hermosa Beach called The Insomniac. It was a real beatnik place. I remember going by there and sometimes in there with my parents. It felt a little scary to me, but I also thought it was really cool!

Dr. Hug, did you frequent The Lighthouse in its glory days of jazz? It's still there, but the music isn't the jazz of old, of course. There was also a place at the Redondo Beach pier--Rumsey's By The Sea, maybe? I wasn't old enough to go there when it was cool, but my parents loved it!
