We're beginning to think about next year's 40th wedding anniversary trip.:scared1:

John would very much like to do a train journey accross Canada, which we would link in with many other places to visit.

Have any of you been on one of these epic rail journeys?

This trip is our ten year but by the time we go we'll be married 11.

OK....way too many pages last night....can someone just tell me if any cruise business was discussed? If so, I'll go back and seek it out. Otherwise....sure wish they'd fix the chat rooms so we could socialize in real time.
You are good to skip to this morning, just a bunch of saturday night partying.

So here's a question of the day: What onboard/ship activities are you most looking forward to?

I want to do the behind the scenes at the Walt Theater 'tour'. I've missed that every cruise so far. I also want to do the various "Art of Entertaining" events. :thumbsup2 I don't think I'll be doing any of the 'tastings' as I have plent of social drining planned already! :lmao: :lmao:

.

Jackie, I so want to do the backstage tour, I worked on all the high school productions backstage. I miss it. I also love the talks given by various Disney employees. I know that Don Ducky William is scheduled for both repos, but I hope there are at least a couple of other Disney talks scheduled.

Pj

John - I know you probably wont see this today, but know that you and your brother are in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us informed and know we're here for you.

V bought a shirt for John on Ebay for tropical night and it was purple. That was the only cruise talk.

They are lovely.

Neuschwanstein is one of our favorites. When there, we learned they offer evening concerts. Mrs. Woody wants to go back! Neuschwanstein

We had a fantastic time there too. In the summer of 1990 (just after we graduated High school) Shannon went to the Netherlands on a student exchange for a year. The following May (1991) I went over and met up with her there. Her and I then took the month and toured as much of continental Europe as possible. The previous year we had a German exchange student at our school, and he and I became friends. When Shannon and I hit Germany he picked us up and took us to Bavaria where we could see the Neuschawanstein and Hohenschwangau.

Here is a pic of me trying on a hat from that area:

Gandalf before LOTR became popular!

What is really interesting is that when I got home I showed my Dad the pics I had taken and he paused at one I took at Hohenschwangau. He got up and went to his photoalbums as a kid. He pulled out a B&W picture that was an exact duplicate of the one I took, except he had taken that one about 35 years earlier when he was a kid and was an airforce brat. The only differences was that his was B&W and mine was colour and his was taken one step (both were taken from a staircase) closer than mine. Otherwise you would have sworn they were the same.

To add to it, when Shannon and I did up our itinerary, we did not include going to this area in our plans as we weren't sure how to get there considering we were only travelling via Eurorail passes. But my buddy picked us up in his car and took us there.

I really oughta scan some of those pics in from that trip....

I still say USA if you are using the flag to show where you have been.

Oh I'm sorry, I thought he asked what we called the flag. I just woke up and sometimes I have to read a few to get the eyes working!

Kathe - how are you doing today? Did you get to spend some quality time w/ Serenity? Sorry to hear about what DS and gf are going through. Glad she thinks of you as family, and hopefully they will find a way to get things back on track.

Now that's the American Pie I grew up with. Not the teen movie.

Saw him in concert....forget his name though (the one that sings that song).

My first concert...probably was John Denver, but I will have to call my parents to double check. Bruce was great last night. I went with my sister and we got to thinking how cool my parents were taking all 6 of us to so many concerts. Mind you "cool" was Barry Manilow, John Denver, Air Supply...saw all of them MANY times. Trying to think of others but names are escaping me.

I can't believe how soon this cruise is coming. My dining room table is has stacks all over it. I am going to go through the kids clothes again today to pick out there special clothes. I think I am just about done buying clothes...I'm bummed they won't have brand new outfits every day (as I usually try to do with vacations) but 15 days! That would be a whole new wardrobe.

We are having the laundry debate - whether to bring enough clothes to cover all days or plan on doing laundry. I know we all have talked about this a lot. For me, I don't do laundry at home so not sure why I would want to do it on vacation. I HATE laundry. Everything about it. Not sure why...maybe some traumatic childhood thing...or maybe just plain lazy.

Anyway, figure I'd rather bring extra clothes and bring all the laundry home to get washed. Anyone else avoiding the laundry room?

I feel a bit silly having 100 pins now. Not sure what the kids will do with them all. Obviously they all can't fit on their lanyard. Do you think they will be giving out Castaway Club lanyards? We could have some "dummy" ones that are just used for trading. How is everyone else handling the extra pins they bought from Mousepinsonline (or something like that)?

Is anyone going to allow their children to swim in the goofy pool without them there? My 10 year old is really pushing to allow him and his brother (8) to be able to go to the Goofy pool as one of their areas they can go to together. DH and I are not going for it right now.

I am going to really try to catch up now. Miss my DISing!

Tomorrow is the day.

I pick up Mrs. Fezziwig. Very excited.

I did have to spend some quality time calming down Mrs. Bennett.

The toaster is feigning indifference, and the vacuum cleaner still just su... well let's not go there.

.

Glad to see you're adding to the family.

Nothing to be sorry for I know you had a late couple of nights!:lmao:
I think she's using it to make a magnet with all the flags for the places the cruise is going. If it is just the flag then it is the American flag.

No cruise business!!!!!!!:lmao:

We would like to do some behing the scenes tours too. Might do a wine tasting.

I've taken the train from Kamloops to Calgary once. That went through Banff. However, that was a really long time ago (back in the mid 70's) and I don't remember much of it except being bored most of the time.

We have a train that runs through BC now called the Rocky Mountaineer. It makes a stop here in Quesnel and is apparently quite popular. www.rockymountaineer.com They even have a combo with a train ride through the Canadian rockies and an Alaskan cruise.

And they have one that is Vancouver to Halifax, which will cover you "coast to coast" and you get to come up through Fraser river to Quesnel. You miss Banff but you get to go through Jasper.

Thanks, I will look at all the options.

If I make a sandwich, I'm 30 pages behind!

Woody

Very difficult to go to the loo too!!:rotfl:

You can order whatever you want in whatever sizes you want directly from Printfection

Printfection is just like Cafe Press (except I find them easier to work with).

I use them for my Mouse Manager shirts. I have not put any markup whatsoever on the shirts, so that is the base, base, base price you'll see on Printfection.

Cool Design. I do like the pun. And the car. I can hardly wait to get ourd. I hope they have a good orphan available in red. I like the yellow too. Ah, what the heck; color doesn't matter. I wish they had Mickey Ears as an option.

Ken - what a great story about your Dad's identical photo, taken 35 years earlier.

We visited Neuschawanstein and Hohenschwangau in 1998. We also stopped by Oberammergau, where they perform the Passion Play. Would like to see it one day, but tickets are extremely hard to get.

CRUISE BUSINESS:

I wanted to re-post this in case folks didn't read last nights pages:

I've been experimenting with a t-shirt design for the day of the canal crossing:

http://www.printfection.com/panama?...11&qty3=1&color4=111&qty4=1&color5=111&qty5=1

You can click on the shirt to see the image larger.

IAN, is this your finalized version....can we go ahead and order?

I can't decide about color...lime green is the 'team' color, but I think I'll look at all the options. :thumbsup2

V, loved the pictures you posted in the wee hours of the morning.

Still have a block of pages I haven't look at yet.
