WHY would anyone do this to a pharmacist for crying out loud?

No, actually it is impatience and frustration mostly. We are caught in the middle of all of the Health Care crap that goes on. We work without pay for the insurance companies, straightening out people's insurance problems, people want it now, and think we just pour it into a bottle. People have gotten worse in the past 5 years. When the insurance doesn't cover their meds, we have to hear a big long story about how they shouldn't have to pay because...and they blame us. They don't understand that the Third Party Payers set the rules now. They can pay cash, but don't want to, and I can't say as I blame them, but why are they blaming the Pharmacy Staff? ????? Reminds me of the signs in the Doctors Offices...You Are responsible for Payment type signs. Pharmacies don't use those because of Corporate Policy I guess. I try to educate people as to what goes on behind the counter, but they usually don't listen in about 75 percent of the cases. I will be writing about all of this once I retire. Corporates have turned us into glorified courtesy clerks, so we have to take the crap. It'll take a book to explain it all. The guy in question was Angry with me because someone the day before returned his prescription to stock. Since I was only there that day, I couldn't explain why, except to tell him that the law requires us to return them to stock, and not doing so could get us charged with insurance fraud. I told him I could refill it in about 5 minutes. He said, "F you you ^%$#@$^&**&^%% and that he was gonna Kick my a**. ROTFLOL. He really got agitated. I am so tired of putting up with this that I called 911 after telling him to come inside if he wanted to KMA. He was meek as a lamb when he came up to the counter. I am glad. Otherwise I may have gotten myself in trouble. I have been threatened many times since going into retail. In one case, after a man said, " Just fill my Fing prescription and I'll take care of you later"! I started closing the Pharmacy and told him I would not fill his Fing prescription and that he was gonna take care of me RIGHT NOW ! He ran out of the store saying that I was crazy and shouldn't be a Pharmacist. Another guy said he was going to shoot me if his prescription wasn't ready when he came in to get it. AH, the stories go on and on. I have felt safer in a foxhole. Maybe it's just Oregon.????? I am starting to not care about helping others, which is why I chose this profession. Instead of a Thank You, like we used to get, now almost everyone has to complain about something that is usually their own fault. I just wish I could say, " Don't complain to me that you have to wait 20 minutes for your prescription when you could have called it in yesterday, or two days ago. READ your friggin' label." And they also get upset at us when their Doctor doesn't call us back to okay a refill. Like that is our fault.

One of the Lady Pharmacists I work with sometimes had a guy lean in over the counter and told her to step outside and settle it face to face. What a Man he was! LOL. I told her that I was glad I wasn't there. He would have seen my bad side.

Anyway. I just gotta sell this house and retire. Or I may just go back to Hospital Pharmacy. The only problems I had there was setting a few Doctors straight. I loved "my" nurses. (no, not in that way... )

I WISH I was a youngin! One of my very best friends who now lives in LA had about 1,000 albums when he moved. Each one was in a plastic sleeve too!

Remember the turntables with the strobe so that you could play at EXACTLY 33.3 rpm? Remember buying the best cartridge? Remember if your floor jumped too much so did your album? Oh how much more difficult it was!

John, You are a youngin'. Heh heh. I remember my little yellow 78's from 1953. They were Disney records. Peter Pan records. You can fly; March of the lost boys, etc. Oh how I wish I had them now. Mom probably sold them at a garage sale when I was in 'Nam.

A comic who I did not work on my stage (didn't think he was funny enough or smart enough) started a my space page because he couldn't get any work. He accumulated 2 mill. friends who started reading his blog and buying his CD's. Now he's making movies and is all over the place. Still not funny!

I feel a bit silly having 100 pins now. Not sure what the kids will do with them all. Obviously they all can't fit on their lanyard. Do you think they will be giving out Castaway Club lanyards? We could have some "dummy" ones that are just used for trading. How is everyone else handling the extra pins they bought from Mousepinsonline (or something like that)?

Is anyone going to allow their children to swim in the goofy pool without them there? My 10 year old is really pushing to allow him and his brother (8) to be able to go to the Goofy pool as one of their areas they can go to together. DH and I are not going for it right now.

I am going to really try to catch up now. Miss my DISing!

We went through the pins we received. I kept a few and so did DD, and then we put the ones to trade on a lanyard so it'd be ready to go. We took it to DL last week and traded for some other pins. We still have a few left that are tradeable.
I let my dd swim in the goofy pool w/o me supervising last summer, she was 9. However, I had to be on the pool deck. So I would be where ever I could find a deck chair at any pool and she could move back and forth. She mostly stayed at the mickey pool cause she didn't like climbing in and out of goofy unless there was an event at that pool.

CRUISE BUSINESS:

I hope everyone's pre-cruise plans in Orlando are coming long. There will be various DISmeets, and hopefully you can attend one or more.

Some of us will be at Epcot on Friday, May 9, and plan to meet for a casual lunch at 11:30. So far we have:

I didn't realize it was so early, I thought it was at 4...I don't think we'll be there at lunch time. We are going to the studios first. We will be in epcot around 2, so if you want to meet for dinner or afternoon snack no problem. I don't want to do epcot in the morning as it's open later than the studio.
