Once again Holly is MIA.....hopefully she will have some time to check in here while at work next week. I really miss her frequency of being on here with us.
Sandra, there will be special merchandise avilable for sale, on the ship. There also MAY be a present from DCL (the 2005 people got a book on the Canal, Med people got leather passport cases--I think). I'll bet what they have available will be better than the generic stateroom gifts you can order now on line.
Well....chatted on the phone with Cheri...so no nap, but we did work out our strategy for getting ourselves to and from Prescot/Phoenix at each end of the trip. Now I have to call and find out what time breakfast buffet is served at Storytellers on Sunday the 25th.
.
I looked a little while ago and the CAT 4 was still there....I just find that so strange.....
I fully understand about the needles! I start crying in the shower before I go to the Dr, all the way there and continue through the entire appointment. When it comes time to take blood, 1 nurse holds 1 arm, another nurse holds the other arm and 1 nurse holds my legs because I am shaking so much that my whole body is moving. One time some OLD man in the waiting room got up and came in and started patting my head and telling me it would be ok. They love seeing me come!
You make me feel brave. I closed my eyes and turned my head and pretended to be cruising on deck 9 from aft to forward past all the pools heading to the adult pool. I saw Mickey and he held my hand. I heard the music and danced along the way........NONE OF IT WORKED TODAY. IT HURT! I did cry. It's good to know that YOU UNDERSTAND!
I'm packed except now I am rethinking my packing since there is no room to buy anything and bring home. maybe just take a duffle bag with our phones and ipods in it. Then we'll have a little room!
My TA, Kevin, called 2 times this week and I called once. The ship is overbooked still. I was on the phone with the cs rep, who was very nice, trying to straighten something out and she told me all about it... Don't know why that 4 keeps showing up, you can't book it anyway.

I have everything in 1 bag so we can take an empty one but I think just a small duffle bag for each of us.
I either pack an empty bag that can be folded into the suitcase on the way there OR I buy a new bag and fill it to go home. Don't repack, just bring an extra bag for homecoming. DONE!
You are going to take lots of pics for us to drool over right? I hope so!
Can't even remember my first concert it is so long ago.Anyway my guess is that you wouldn't know who it was anyway!

After the 70's I started seeing JAZZ shows - saw George Benson and Al Jarreau a million times then toured with Carl Anderson on a bus and loved all the folks I got to meet. That reminds me there is a jazz club at Pleasure Island.
A book on the Canal will be neat. I thought we got the gift on the Med cruise as a Castaway Member, no? I really wanted to order something to be a surprise in the cabin when we arrived. Oh well, will just leave it for now.
26 days until we start our vacation. How cool, is that?
Ken, you're such an old fashioned guy. I remember that my father drank both scotch and rye. When I mention rye, most people have never heard of it.
.
I am so glad to read others have no idea what their first concert was....I have no idea.
I remember when I was dating DH (he LOVES music) he took me to a concert Hotie and the Blowfish.....I feel SOUND asleep. He should have figured out not to marry me that night if he had been smart...![]()

Anyone remember the "Kool Jazz Festivals"???
I got to see Miles Davis at the Kool Jazz Festival at Blossom Music Center.
Wouldn't it be cool if they had a Jazz night in one of the clubs on our cruise!
My first concert was the Beatles in San Diego in (I think) 1964.

Manuel is a good name and easy to remember for me, my BFF brother and dad are named the same. Prayers for Manuel & you today tooKeep us posted as you can.
I fell asleep during Van Halen at the US festival. It was a very long day.
OK, I've got music on the mind . . .
"Good old boys drinking whiskey and rye, singing this will be the day that I die . . ."
That is one of the first songs I memorized by heart - I used a reel to reel recorder to tape it from the radio. Don McClain, a classic.
