Would it be OK if I possibly used this as a logo for the "Little Thieves Homework Club?"
:flower3:

very cute logo and I got Molly assignment last week. She will be writing a report on Molly Pitcher. She will have all the research done before we travel, and will just have the actual writing to do on the ship. Not too hard a task. Wilson may have a journal and some plant experiments to do. I guess I have to figure out if he can bring on seeds to do this or not, hmmmm customs might have a problem with this huh?

So is everyone asleep? The wife and I are sitting here playing Scrabble on the computer, listening to Hannah Montana 2, having a few drinks (rum and coke for her and rye and coke for me) and reading the DIS.

Where is everyone else?? It's only 12:26am here ... and I bet the girls are gonna get up at 7am. Oh well, Shannon's turn to get up early this weekend. :rotfl:

what is rye and coke? I thought you asked her to make you a sandwich? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Thanks for all your kindness and prayers everyone . . .

His name is Manuel.

Manuel is a good name and easy to remember for me, my BFF brother and dad are named the same. Prayers for Manuel & you today too  Keep us posted as you can.

Be afraid, be very afraid. ;)

I am, but those drinks looks so good and we share the birth month, I think you should cut me some slack. I can line your patients up for you to torture.

Angie. Good to hear all is well. You'll be home soon, and back into cruise planning mode.

I'm a few days behind you with my similar sad journey. We're heading out on Monday for my DBro's funeral on Tuesday.

Hugs right back to you! Travel safely.

I can't even remember my first concert. It must not have been that impressionable! I know I never saw Elvis or the Beetles but that would have been rad! I did see Match Box 20 and Rob Zombie and Korn and all those kinds of bands in my early 20's. I know not impressive.

I did get to see Elvis. DrHug was so sweet and gave his ticket to a friend who LOVED Elvis. Of course I did too, so the two of us gals went. DrHug thought he would see a later concert or in Las Vegas, but alas it was The Kings last tour. I did really enjoy that one! :lovestruc

Yum is right.

Cheri, did you ever have the creamed corn at Gulliver's? Double YUM!

Woody

No, I'm not familiar w/Gulliver's--is/was it in the HB area or LA area? Creamed corn sounds yummy!

Restaurants I remember from those days are the Fish Peddler at the Redondo Beach Pier, Woody's Smorgasburger (they had chopped peanuts as one of the condiments), a place in LA called Poor Richard's (a kid's paradise--had a train circling the dining room, etc. plus a toy shop. We'd be given $$ by our grandmother to spend in the toy shop so the adults could enjoy their coffee in peace!:rotfl: ) and later on The Plush Horse. My parents loved to eat out at nice places so we'd usually go to a few when we were there every summer. My grandmother lived in LA so we always made a few trips up that way. I remember my dad driving down La Cienega Blvd. and they would point out all the nice restaurants ("Restaurant Row").

My mom was born & raised in LA, went to Hollywood High. They met at USC and lived in LA for the first 3 years of marriage. Right after I was born (summer of 49) they moved to central AZ, where my dad was from.

Are you familiar at all with the Spanish Kitchen on Beverly Blvd?

It is a type of Whisky made from rye grain. Usually made in Canada and the US. In the US there is a law that it has to be made with content that is at least 51% rye. In Canada there is no such law. Some have been made with as little as 10%. Some popular Canadian Rye brands internationally are Canadian Club (often referred to as CC), and Crown Royal. I tend to drink Wiser's Deluxe.

Don't get it confused with Scotch Whisky. That is yet a different type of whisky. My Scottish ancestors are probably rolling over in their graves, but I'm not fussy on Scotch. I find it has a real bite that doesn't sit well with me.

DrHug and I have had a CC and 7 or two over the years. :cool1:

Fine by me! I stole it from a website. As long as you leave the credit on there I think that it would be fine!

I thought it was adorable, but I have a collection of pictures with Mickey Mouse reading, so I am probably not impartial!

Thanks!

I collect pins, and one of the things I collect is characters reading books because I was a reading specialist. When I was teaching, we had to wear an ID badge and I wore mine on a lanyard with some of my Disney book-reading pins on it. Of course, the kids loved it!
