I can't even remember my first concert. It must not have been that impressionable! I know I never saw Elvis or the Beetles but that would have been rad! I did see Match Box 20 and Rob Zombie and Korn and all those kinds of bands in my early 20's. I know not impressive.

:lmao: :lmao:

Weighed in this AM....I'm down 6.5 now! :woohoo: :woohoo:
Every pound down is less strain on the knees and hips and means being able to move around the ship more easily.

.

:cheer2: Good job. We will be dancing like this on the cruise:dance3:

I was amazed at some of the first concerts..elvis and the beatles...thats too cool. One day my daughter will look back on my first concert and think I was cool too. My last concert was Christina Aguliera's Back to Basics. It was a great concert and she gave taylor and autograph and kissed her had. It was sweet and my daughter wasn't that impressed...who am I raising. She thought it was no big deal.

She think it's cool some day. Sometimes you don't know something is great until it is a memory.

For any of you that have them to spare, my brother could use some prayers his way . . .

He found out that he has a mass in his colon, and on Sunday he will have surgery to have part of his colon removed. While pathology results are not yet back, I think they are pretty sure it is cancer. The only question is whether or not it is localized or has spread, and whether or not it is treatable beyond the surgery. My brother is 5 years younger than me - only 42.

Tomorrow I'll be taking my dad to the hospital to see him - we have not told dad yet all that is going on.

Amy and I talked tonight, and we have had family illness and hardship follow us on our last cruises. My mom passed away the week of our last cruise with the Geeks, right before we left. We had a funeral and left the same day. Now my brother's illness, and I can only pray that they have caught it in time.

Thanks for letting me share. It has not been very happy around here lately, and my thoughts are with all the rest of you who have had family and friends illness and worse to deal with . . .

:grouphug: John, for you and your family. :grouphug:

So is everyone asleep? The wife and I are sitting here playing Scrabble on the computer, listening to Hannah Montana 2, having a few drinks (rum and coke for her and rye and coke for me) and reading the DIS.

Where is everyone else?? It's only 12:26am here ... and I bet the girls are gonna get up at 7am. Oh well, Shannon's turn to get up early this weekend. :rotfl:

What is rye? I always hear it in that song but don't know what it is. You know....drinkin wisky and rye cause this will be the day that I die.

Three Saturdays from now, we will be on our flight to LA!!!:woohoo:
:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

You do know this is the WESTBOUND Panama Canal cruise don't you?
Just thought you might be getting mixed up, what with living down under. :lmao:

Two years ago, Mrs. Woody and I saw Sugar Ray, Everclear, Lifehouse, and Vanessa Carlton.

Last week I saw a free Counting Crows concert at a local Apple Store.

This reminds me. I've read somewhere this week that the Jacksons have bought a house in Devon, here in the United Kingdom. Of all the places in the world, why Devon? :confused3

It is a type of Whisky made from rye grain. Usually made in Canada and the US. In the US there is a law that it has to be made with content that is at least 51% rye. In Canada there is no such law. Some have been made with as little as 10%. Some popular Canadian Rye brands internationally are Canadian Club (often referred to as CC), and Crown Royal. I tend to drink Wiser's Deluxe.

Don't get it confused with Scotch Whisky. That is yet a different type of whisky. My Scottish ancestors are probably rolling over in their graves, but I'm not fussy on Scotch. I find it has a real bite that doesn't sit well with me.

Anyone seen one of these in a store near them yet?

No, but I want one!

Last week we went to see The Cult in concert. they put on a pretty good show and still sounded good. Too many of the 80's bands don't sound as good anymore as they have gotten older.

However, the band that opened for them "The Clicks", could use a lead singer. (S)he kept trying to sing at an octave too far below his/her range. Only their last song was done at the right level for the voice and it was pretty decent. BTw the lead singer is transgender thus the choice of wording above.

But the Cult came out and rocked the place so they were quickly forgotten.
