Deb - what hotel are you staying at? They quoted me $98 to the DL hotel.
I'm not staying at DL.....I have a direct oceanfront balcony room at the Crown Plaza in Rodondo Beach. I wanted more of a neighborhood flavor because it's my first time in CA and I wanted the ocean......even after 15 days, I can't give it up. I can't wait to be sitting on the verandah sipping champagne while watching a west coast sunset. Devine!

PM who?
Deb -- I'm glad you made your rental car plans. If after the cruise you have lots of luggage (and plan to ship things back), consider having the sedan car drop off some luggage at your hotel on the way to Avis. The trunks of convertible cars are often smaller than normal to accommodate the top when it is down.OH, so excited.....I reserved and paid for my sedan car service to take me from the LA port to LAX where we are renting a convertible car from Avis for $500 for one week and returning it in Vegas.
Woody, thank you for suggesting going straight to the hotel and renting there. I looked into it and found out that it would be more than double the money to do it that way. I didn't think it was worth it.
So we're all set, our car is picking us up at the port at 10:00am and it's only $65 and it's paid for already, except for a tip. I would much rather use a sedan than a van. I don't want to make more than one stop and I want my luggage to comfortably go in the trunk.....since we're flying to FL and home from Vegas, that will be no problem. We'll each have one check in and one carry on. That's all we're bringing. If we bring more than that back with us, we'll ship it home from LA.
I looked at it and decided not to bother trying to do it because it just looked too hard.
We saw Jersey Boys twice in L.A. Loved it both times. The cast recording CD is excellent as well.we just got back from seeing "Jersey Boys" about Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. I highly recommend it, it was really good and the music was great.
Lisa/DL5 I just reread your note and it finally made sense to me and the PJ said we don't have to chat, just send a PM so I figured it out and I sent it. Done. Let's see if I get as lucky as Cheri.

Also, make sure your driver takes you to the Avis lot, which is off site at LAX. There are no on-site rental car agencies anymore.
Do both you and John have to go to Avis? If not, you might want to get dropped off at the hotel (ask in advance for early check-in) with the luggage.
Woody
I still haven't figured it out!
