A couple of great guys we met on our Dec cruise have just become members and asked us??:confused3 Isn't that lovely and so sweet of them.:)

Marilyn, what a nice gesture! Hope you guys have fun. Looks like a really nice place!

I have a dance studio and teach ballet, tap, acrobatics, jazz and Ukrainian dancing. I have my studio in our basement and have small classes. Was interested when I saw your posting.

Hey neat, tell me about Ukrainian dancing! Don't know much about it. And tell me how you run your studio (if you want to that is!) I had my own studio in Australia. But here in MN, I teach for someone else. I like teaching ballet and pointe best but recently got into hip-hop which is LOTS of fun (except for trying to find a clean song appropriate for grade-schoolers! :lmao: ).

We are interested in joining a group for the gift giving so will get a PM sent to the appropriate person this week.
Hi Sandra! Welcome back! Not sure if someone already posted, or if you caught it yet but the teams have been set up. You can contact any of the team leaders, or if the team doesn't have a team leader, contact any of the members of the team and see if they need help. Alternatively, if any team needs help, please feel free to PM Disney Rock and ask her to join! Is it possible Marr to copy the teams and its members to the first page so people don't need to search for it? As soon as I get the final names for the lanyard team, PJ can you update it on the website? I think Kelly was going to finalize that team soon. Thanks!

Couldn't just leave it with the we are from PA . . . had to add the "Go Steelers" . . . Last cruise, and now this one, Steelers fans, I cannot escape them.

Trader Joe's must be a good spot eh? Will have to remember that next year! :thumbsup2 Hope Molly's knee is feeling better. That is scary to have happen. When Jacinda was little she had what they called Nursemaid's elbow. It would pop out part of the way and that was followed by her screaming in pain and then one quick pop and it was back in and not hurting, but the brief moments it was out she was terrified. I was so glad when she outgrew that!

Sounds yucky! Thanks for well wishes for Molly. She is sore and swollen still today

Nan...

Sorry to hear about Molly's knee...

Hope she feels better soon!!!

Thanks

Nan- hope Molly feels better soon

Thanks

DH tips at Palo based on what he thinks the meal would have cost at a restaurant, and he is a 20% tipper when we go out to eat.

that's what we do too.:thumbsup2

I'm still in a lifeboat.....just two more months to go, I would want them to book so we know, then we can make door signs with a room number on them.

All I can do is wait another month and then hope that I get assigned. At least when I asked DCL they said we would get assigned anywhere from 30 days out right up to in the terminal. Great. How do I get on the lists then?

We're going to have to develop a plan to report to someone to give them room numbers for the lists if assigned at the terminal. They will have to be manually entered.....the lists and the mini nav.:confused3

I think that Linda said she would have it covered somehow. I'm sure this has happened in the past.

Hey!!! Got my shirt, it's awesome!!! I'll get my lifesavers ready and start planning the menu for the veranda visits from you boaters :thumbsup2

Was anyone on here actually flying on 9/11 day? I was on an international flight from Australia to Vancouver that day, it happened when we were in the air. Once we landed in Vancouver, we had to wait 5 hours on the plane, as they were searching each plane before they allowed us to get off. Then our luggage was unaccessible, and I was stranded in Vancouver for 2 nights, as no flights were leaving. All hotels were taken so I was adopted by some girls in their mid 20s who came to the airport to offer their home for stranded travelers.

It was a nightmare, long lines, people crying all over the airport, phones tied up for ages. I was pregnant at the time (and traveling alone) and ended up fainting in line to check in the day they started flying again. Of course, all flights were booked solid out of there but you should have seen the people jump around once I passed out. They put me on the first available flight out (bumped someone else) and I got to wait in the VIP area with personal service and all.

It was a memorable experience for sure, one I would not like to repeat. And I look at these regulations in place now and while they are a pain, I still vividly remember being at the airport and on the plane that day, wondering if our flight would be the next one hit. . .

Just my 2 cents.

Jolene

Scary Jolene. Thanks for sharing that viewpoint. It's interesting to hear it directly from someone in the air that day.

I flew a month after 911 to Italy, it was a but surreal for me. People didn't have good plans in place even a month later. I think now the stuff we encounter in the name of safety is worth it.

It does sound like fun! If I was still taking classes today, I would be doing hip hop plus ballet and jazz. BTW, V is also a dancer, more musical theatre performer, but including dance. Kaylee takes dance classes too, tap I think. It seems like there are a few dancers on this cruise.....although it's been so long since I was able to take a class.....that's why I'm starting slowly at home.

How about a Giants fan???

DH was...we were in NJ visiting my family. He left a week before me to get back to work. He left on an American Airlines flight bound for LAX at 8am out of Newark. Ryan was down with my Dad watching TV and he started screaming when PBS cut in with images of the plane crashing into the first tower. He new his daddy was on an airplane (he was only 2 1/2). I was 4 months pregnant with Drew (in fact it's his 6th birthday today). After the second plane hit we realized what was happening and the media starting saying things like, American Airlines, LAX, Newark and I was in full panic mode...hyperventilating, contractions, the whole bit. I called American and they could tell me nothing...they wouldn't confirm what flight he was on, if he got on, nada. My dad pleaded with them to tell us something, nada (which I get, now). About three hours later they announced the flight numbers and thank god, it wasn't his flight. In the end, his plane was landed in Chicago and he didn't know what was happening. He said the flight crew left the plane immediately...he'd never left a plane after the pilot and flight attendants and thought that was odd. He got into the terminal and saw people crowded around TVs but figured he'd best find out why his flight was interrupted and see if he could get on another flight. After about 30 minutes of mayhem he didn't know exactly what was happening but he knew he wasn't going to get to CA by plane and got a rental car. He had a cell but couldn't dial out (circuits busy). After about an hour I was able to reach him and explained what happened and then we were cut off. He ended up driving home from Chicago to LA in two days (didn't sleep, he was filled with adrenalin).

I ended up leaving NJ on 9/16 (the first day planes flew again) and was the first flight out of Newark. It was surreal to see armed National Guardsmen (thank goodness for our military) partroling each gate. To be honest, the annoying precautions they now take make me feel secure when I fly. It may be a false sense of security, but after what we went through as a family I'll take it.

That is a terrifying story. Brought tears to my eyes thinking of you in that state. So glad you guys all made it safe.

PC crossing day we'll be verandah hopping....we'll be toasting and dancing and moving on to the next verandah party! A great day to celebrate. Then we get to do the champagne tasting at happy hour 4pm. How fun is that going to be!

Glad you got the shirt and like it.

Hi Deb,
Do you have your own routine or do you use a Video/DVD? I heard the NYC Ballet Workout is good, but haven't tried it myself.

With so many dancers onboard (I think we have some kids who take lessons too?), we should have an impromptu "showcase" sometime. Now that would be fun!!!! Sounds like we have quite a few different styles covered. Anyway, just a thought.

Jolene :dance3:

I'm in!!!

Yes sir!!!

9/11 was a very tough one for us. I lived in NJ then - right outside of NYC... there isn't anyone I know that wasn't involved. They were either killed, injured, responded, rescued, cleaned up and investigated the tragedy. The eeriest part was the days after when you went past the train stations in town and all the cars were still left... you knew that they belonged to people who weren't coming home.

Again, sad first hand account. I wouldn't have thought of the cars left like that. :sad1:

I have a question for those of you that have a Disney Visa. How long does it take for the rewards card to come once you request it? I'm trying to decide...should I order it now or wait until next month (want to rack up as many rewards as possible :goodvibes )? Thanks!

you can order the card and load it up with more next month. It's refillable for the year it comes in. Thanks for reminding me to order mine too!

About the room assignments, here's a thought. I wonder if most of the catagories are oversold? How far in advance does DCL begin to offer deals to oversold cruises to get people to switch?
I don't think it is oversold because a lot of cabins opened up a month or so ago...remember that?

Just had a wonderful surprise. We are going to be taken to Club 33 for dinner on the evening of May 25th!!!:hyper:
 Yahoo! I went when I was a young girl. My uncle is a VIP in Coke...I have such great memories. I'm sure you will love it!

Welcome!

Glad you got it Jackie.....mine is tight around the middle too. I was thinking of ordering one size bigger so it can be loose. If you need me to do that for you too, or for any others, please let me know. I'll do an another order. I got the shirts from a website that PJ found called blank shirts and they were less than the cost of a DOD. What a great deal! PJ is the best!
