Another word about Mouse Manager ...

Don't Forget to Register :)

A friend just sent me a photo essay about the Falkirk Wheel. It is near where Deborah lives and is a rotating boat lift to move canal boats from one canal to another. AMAZING.

I wish I could post the essay on here, but it was an e-mail attachment. If anyone knows how to do that, let me know. PM me because I am WAY WAY behind--again:confused3

My friend lives in Falkirk, and she live around corner of it!!

Was anyone on here actually flying on 9/11 day? I was on an international flight from Australia to Vancouver that day, it happened when we were in the air. Once we landed in Vancouver, we had to wait 5 hours on the plane, as they were searching each plane before they allowed us to get off. Then our luggage was unaccessible, and I was stranded in Vancouver for 2 nights, as no flights were leaving. All hotels were taken so I was adopted by some girls in their mid 20s who came to the airport to offer their home for stranded travelers.

It was a nightmare, long lines, people crying all over the airport, phones tied up for ages. I was pregnant at the time (and traveling alone) and ended up fainting in line to check in the day they started flying again. Of course, all flights were booked solid out of there but you should have seen the people jump around once I passed out. They put me on the first available flight out (bumped someone else) and I got to wait in the VIP area with personal service and all.

It was a memorable experience for sure, one I would not like to repeat. And I look at these regulations in place now and while they are a pain, I still vividly remember being at the airport and on the plane that day, wondering if our flight would be the next one hit. . .

Just my 2 cents.

It was very sad day, never forget it.

As 7 months before that happened, My husband and I went to New York for my 40th. We went up to tower and right top.:scared1: I was scared and thinking about earthquake!! My husband was video and it was snowing that times. There were cafe and pizza, I beg him that we went back down and doing some shopping.

7 Months later I was off work with flu and I saw it on the tv and saw second flight. I was so shocking. Unbelieveable!!

Now I want to go back to New York next year for Xmas shopping with 3 friends. I am thinking to organise about it. Saving up now.

Good Morning Thieves!!! The sun is shining and I'm feeling so much better. It's been a tough week of chronic pain. I have a whole list of illnesses and I just had a flare up. I hurt from head to toe right to the bone. It was hard to sit, stand, sleep or move. I was taking pain killers and muscle relaxers which knocked me out. I'm so glad it's over for now.

I'll be good to go on our cruise because I'll be taking steroids temporarily while on vacation. They will reduce the inflamation and pain and give me energy. I can't stay on them permanently, but I do use them for vacation. So I am doing better today and will be great on the boat.

It's the last day of February today.....starting tomorrow it's just 2 months and 10 days to go......just 2 months people.....and we're there!! Now I'm getting even more excited because after waiting over a year, 2 months is nothing and will go very quickly.

:cool1: :cool1:
Deb, I'm glad you're feeling better!

I'm up to page 99 now, but can't read more, work is calling again. ;) Will try to catch up a bit more tomorrow morning at work! :thumbsup2

Deborah,
That would have been a shock to see it on the TV after you had been there. I've heard that New York around the Christmas holidays is really amazing. Would like to do that sometime.

Deb,

I've been meaning to ask you. Are you the one who works out at the Ballet Barre or do I have you mixed up with someone else? Are you a dancer? I teach ballet, tap, jazz and danceline part-time and I've been meaning to start taking lessons again because it gives me such a good workout!

About the room assignments, here's a thought. I wonder if most of the catagories are oversold? How far in advance does DCL begin to offer deals to oversold cruises to get people to switch?

This prompts me to ask a new Question of the Day!
What would it take from DCL to get you to give up your stateroom on this cruise?

Now we know, it would have to be some kind of alternate cruise (no cash!). .....discuss.....

We're going to have to develop a plan to report to someone to give them room numbers for the lists if assigned at the terminal. They will have to be manually entered.....the lists and the mini nav.:confused3

I think that each deck was going to be assigned a "deck monitor" who would report all and any changes to the master list keeper. I do remember that I had said I do this for deck 7. We have been assigned a cabin since day 1.

.

Yep, deck monitors is what we discussed....and still waiting on volunteers for decks other than 7, that ALREADY have room assignments. Mini navigators will have to remain blank, though you can run around at the 3PM DIS meet to get missing numbers. (Deck monitors will need to post cabin #'s with DISname only also) I don't think we need to worry about this till about day 25, as I'm sure the majority will be assigned by then.

...mini lunch break over....back to work!

Marilyn, that is great news!!!! I am sure you will share all the details with us mortals who can only dream of it!!

What time are WE going?

:lmao: 6pm!

Marilyn, that is great news!!!! I am sure you will share all the details with us mortals who can only dream of it!!

I sure will, and take loads of photos. I wasn't actually going to eat from leaving the ship till flying home on the Wednesday - thought the calories consumed onboard would keep me going!!!:rotfl2:

First of all:

:dance3: HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:dance3:

Ok, WOW....your story had me on the edge of my seat. I was pregnant with Taylor then as well....and being pregnant did not help matters. I could not even imagine what you went through that day Lisa, Does it still get you to even retell the story?!

It actual reminds me to be thankful! We kept his boarding pass as a reminder.

Drew is flying high today. I just picked him up and he was wearing a paper crown and he is amped up! His party is on Thursday (it's a half day at school, so big brother can come) at Pump It Up, one of those indoor bouncy house places. I think Sophia had her party there also.

Hi Lisa,
I was just curious to see if anyone else was in the air that day. I had planned my trip for months and of all the days to pick to fly, it was that one! I was 4 months pregnant too! My daughter just had her 6th birthday the other day. I'll always think of her as my 9/11 baby.

That would have been so traumatic for you, I am glad everything worked out well in the end though. But still, you don't need those kind of stresses when you are pregnant!

It actually creeped both of us out thinking that more than likely Mark was in the terminal with the terrorists that morning. The doomed flight left at 7:30ish or around then. When they showed the security footage of them going through the terminal Mark said it was erie because he took those very same steps that morning. With life, you just never know!

were just leaving a 40lb bag of food out for them and the toilet lid up!!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We have two cats - one like yours, one is a lover - both were rescue cats.

Oh, yes and birds and turtles and plants that need watering.

I have a neighbor who has promised that if I leave any of my plants with her...that they would be dead... :rotfl2: She means well, she's just not a gardener... (I plant the tomatos in the neighborhood and supply her well!!!)

Mouse Manager came from PJ ....

Actually, PJ posted on the DVC forums back in about April or May of 2006 (or was it 2005 PJ?) and wanted to know if anyone knew there was a DVC points program for the Macintosh.

No one was developing anything for the Mac. There was a program out there, but the developer said that they had no intention of ever supporting the Mac.

I replied back to PJ's posting that I had some ideas about how Filemaker Pro could be used to create one.

Then 2 years of my life proceeded to get sucked into a black hole.

What was supposed to just be a DVC point calculator and contract management program grew and grew and grew.

It kept evolving and became a full vacation planning tool, that ran not only on Macs but on Windows PCs a well.

There are now over 600 registered Mouse Manager users worldwide.

Via the Mouse Manager web site and restaurant menu buttons, Mouse Manager has over 200 WDW restaurant menus. Via the web site there is also a full featured Amazon style restaurant rating and review system, where registered users can rate restaurants and write reviews.

I think this is going to be a powerful feature as I know that I always want to know what other people think of a restaurant when I'm making my own plans.

I'm now starting to work on Mouse Manager Version 2.0. It will be a major redesign and try to further unleash the potential it has. I also want to develop a cruise module for managing cruise plans and land/sea vacations.

Did I tell the story right PJ?

.

Well, Ian

Yes I posted a question (in 2006, that would be when I first went Mac), but the shape, form and function of MM, is entirely Ian. He is amazing when it comes to working through a project.

Pj

& now I know why I clicked on Mouse Manager!!! :)

Linda should have ended her cruise yesterday, so hopefully she will be along to tell us all about it.

Also Holly might be able to check in from work.

HOLLY CHECKED IN THIS MORNING... HER COMPUTER IS STILL DOWN...SHE IS DROPPING IT OFF FOR REPAIR TONIGHT... WILL CHECK IN WHEN SHE CAN - SENDS :grouphug: TO EVERYONE!!!

Well if they oversold me... I'm suing!!!! (class action anyone???)

Jolene... there is a wonderful book about the people who had to fly into Gander New Foundland on 9/11 on the way to the US and how a small town took in so many people...

Amazon has it... I got it out of the library...
