Nan- hope Molly feels better soon

Hi everyone! Been MIA again. I hope nothing much has happened. Hope everyone is doing fine and will have a great Monday as well as a good work week.

As for me - I've been messing around with iTunes. Picked up a manual that is in layman's terms and have been playing around with updating, adding art and other stuff to my itunes.

Be Back Later!

Yu-gi-oh is a CCG (Collectible Card Game). That means you buy packs of cards in hopes of getting the right ones to help you make a "deck" so you can play against other people who have made their "deck". It's kinda like playing baseball with baseball cards that people collect.

Each pack usually has a set amount of rares, common, uncommon or other such label on the cards. It usually results in getting lots of "filler" cards and a few really meaningful ones.

You play against the other player much like in the cartoon. You battle each other with your monsters playing different cards with different abilities (monster, magic, and trap cards) in an attempt to reduce their opponents' "life points" to zero and win the match.

In tournament play there are usually cards at stake (each player puts up a card that the winner will get).

Pokemon is another type of CCG as is Magic:The Gathering and there are lots of others out on the market.

Wow. I'm impressed, I don't understand it all that well and my son has been trying to explain it for that last one or two years! I just know that he loves to explain each card and what it does.

Mille Borne!! Oh my we have not played that in years! Like maybe 35 or so. We played it alot in the late 60's early 70's. Wonder if we still have that game.

I saw the game in a retro store a few months back. Had thought about picking it up. I remember playing with my mom back in the early 70's almost every night. It was such a simple, yet fun game to play.

Joseph

I'm sure Wilson knows and does this, but I'm just happy staying in the dark on this game to be honest. It just doesn't sound interesting to me at all. Mean Mom strikes again :scared1: Of course I shell out the money for him to get cards all the time, so I can't be that mean huh?

I actually feel the same as you, leave me in the dark. He seems to have a lot of fun playing, I figured I should watch and see what it is about.

My DH went as far as reading instructions and trying to learn and teach DS how to play once but my DS doesn't play he just looks and trades cards. Although he only played once a long time ago with DH he still remembers what things mean and what he needs to play the game:confused3 I on the other hand have no clue but its nice when his friend comes over and they look at the cards for hours and what HP the cards are etc...they seem to enjoy it.

Oh and everyone seems to still be GTY's?

Just curious anyone that is a GTY that receive a room assignment...was it an upgrade?

Oh, and Gydell (I know you are sleeping its late my time too) my last name starts with B so I don't think that is the way they are assigning GTY...maybe someday we'll figure it out:confused3 Yes its drawing names out of a hat:rotfl:

I've played Magic: The Gathering and I used to have a Start Trek CCG deck and I have a few hundred Star Wars CCG cards.

My nephew plays Pokemon.

They all basically have the same premise and tactics behind them. It's just different theming and card specifics. Otherwise the basic mechanics are the same.

I got out of them simply because I had spent more than enough money on them and still didn't have enough rare cards to have a really good deck. I'm no longer a fan of these games, but I do understand their appeal. Heck I used to collect hockey cards as a kid, and these are no different except they have a game attached to them as well.

Those that have kids that are into Webkinz also have a CCG with them which is now moving into Series 2. Of course in Webkinz it isn't about "reducing life points" but completing tasks (for those that like card games it is basically a trick taking game).

This could work...

How do you see it? I'm thinking a 45-60 min. "study hall" type thing--kids bring their assignments, I supervise, answer questions, help them, etc. How many times/sessions do you think we'd need to do this?

Anyone else interested?

My DK will be done with school when the cruise starts but if you decide on facilitating something educational on the PC count my DK in we'll contribute towards your spa fund:thumbsup2

Wow you know a lot about these. Someone gave him a card and then my DS started collecting and he buys decks with his allowance which are sometimes the champion deck series and it has pamphlets on there tournaments that they have and my DS thinks its so cool to compete in something that is fun and kids his age winning in that age division.

Cameron is the same. He will spend hours with friends, sometimes playing but usually just looking at the different cards each has. I tried to learn once but it was beyond me, which is odd since I do table-top war gaming.

I know what you mean we used to play Risk a lot as kids.

Well it is way late which is fine if I didn't have to wake up early and get the kids ready for school and drive them:eek: Have a good night everyone:goodvibes

Cat. 4 is back!

We should upgrade and we might get an allocation there!!!

All of this talk about people staying before the cruise and people staying after the cruise is really bumming me out (yes, that's what I said, I graduated high school in the very early 1970's)

I wish I could either get some time before the cruise or even better, a few days afterwards to go to DL. I could not swing that with work, I haven't asked, but I don't think I could swing it. People are shocked that I'm going to be gone from work for 2 weeks.

.

Our normal main vacation over here is 2 weeks. Many have a second vacation too.

Ok so I have had a very rough day. I had to teach childrens church this morning but didn't sleep well last night. The childrens church is very unorganized and the kids are nuts. I won't be doing it anymore after April. Then, I was walking around the house today thinking I really want to go to the MK. I fell down the steps. Yes thats right, I was walking along and some how one foot went out in front of me and the other under me.:rotfl2: I am ok, a little sore. Dh came made sure I was ok and laughed at me. I learned to to walk near step day dreaming of Disney. I took a nap and DH took me out to dinner.

Also wanted to give :grouphug: to anyone who needs them.

Poor you, but your day ended on a good note. Hope you are not too sore this morning.

As opposed to the buxom unreal birds in the earlier photos?

Samantha!

Watch that Backswing!

Ughh!!!!!!!

:lmao:

Same here. Change earrings, otherwise just my wedding/engagement rings and a small cross necklace.

I have a little costume jewellery including pirate stuff. Like you only wedding/engagement ring and a gold necklace of any worth.

that reminded me of why I just stay on the letter of the law. We had a tube of toothpaste in a bag and it caused the whole bag to be search and my SH was given a dose of crap about how bad he was for not packing it. They tossed it.

A friend's daughter works on security at a local airport and always has loads of manicure sets that have been 'tossed' to give away at christmas!!!

V, I hope you don't mind but I've been wanting to play with a new technique in PSE that I learned to do selective colouring.

I saw this pic and just had to give it a try.

Here are the results:

OK John, I've thrown down the gauntlet:
Now let's see YOUR picture!!!

Cheri_2.jpg

Class of '67

Lovely Cheri!!!

hmm, I was born in 1974!!!

Our youngest was born in 1974.

I'm trying to scan my picture... I have to find the instructions...

I just went into my mom's room to ask if she had the picture and she kept arguing with me that I should show them a NEW picture of me...not the 25 year old one.... :rotfl2: (she thought we were sharing pictures so we could recognize each other on the cruise...)

Now we want tohoe as well to go on Pj's website.

Welcome Back:goodvibes No big news that I know of recent discussions on new flying regulations on flying and liquids and meds etc... putting them in bags.:confused3

Finally caught up again. Hi to everyone waking up on the other side of the pond. When I flew from Germany to Los Angeles, and then on to Sidney and Perth Austrailia, I arrived in Perth and got a letter from my luggage saying, "having a wonderful time here in Auckland, wish you were here!" They finally showed up in Perth after about a week; just as we were getting ready to head back to Sidney. I always pack my shaver, meds, and at least 2 pr underwear/socks in my carry-on bag just in case my luggage wants to have a holiday again without me!

Good night everyone!

Good morning and good night Steve!!!

We had a suitcase not travel with us once, fortunately it was on our way home from Tenerife, so it was mainly filled with dirty washing. But we had at that time put John's camera, the binoculars and some other more expensive items inside. It took 5 days and a few long 'on hold' phone calls to arrive home

Since then we never pack the camera etc, and we now mix our clothing instead of having the more pleasing his and hers suitcases, just in case one goes missing on our way TO our destination.

Good Morning All......I tried to catch up yesterday morning but the boards were slow and finally refused to load.

The remainder of the day was spent in wrestinlg with a new water heater - this was not planned, the other one unbenoist to us - rusted out - not a fun discovery to find on our return from Church.

All fixed, but we are both very sore...the spa on the Magic sounds very good right now. So does someone else taking care of us....

:surfweb: I'll try a little coffee and Disnews for a bit.
