Ok Apple experts, if I download the HC episode, can I burn it to a disk and watch it on a dvd player? or only watch on my iphone or computer?

Just on your ipod or computer. You cannot burn video. You could also watch on an Apple TV.

Deb, I saw your post in an email of new post - faster than the page reloading on the DIS.

A good test if you think it is your computer . . . open up a new page or a new tab and go to Google. Google always loads really fast, and if it does, it is the website and not your computer.

I've been wonder who else here has pets and what are you doing with them for the 15+ nights?

.

I have a dog and a cat and six turtles. I'll have a house sitter staying here while we're gone. It's the kid, my husband's adult son who lives on the property with us in his own dwelling. He'll come and stay in our house while we're gone and take care of the pets and the mail and the phone messages, etc. We're not going home for another week after cruise so for us we'll be away for three weeks.....fortunately we have the kid here and don't have to worry about the pets.

You're talking to someone who just did at least 5 weeks of Jane Austen on Masterpiece Theater!!! I do pack P&P for every vacation because just incase I do run out of things to read and I'm stuck somewhere... I can always get a good read out of P&P....

Just remember - especially because of your legs...that you must take your shoes off now and put them through the xray machine... I recommend slip ons... Mocs are my faves...

I'll be wearing croc flip flops....easy enough......but aren't the floors dirty to be standing there in my bare feet. Yuck!

And if I'm bringing a manicure set, I have to pack it in my check in bag, not my carryon correct. It has a little nail file and nail scissors. I can still take them right, just not in my carryon.

I put off adopting until after this trip, but I know that near me there are boarding places that are like pet condos... I know one of the women out by you have used them (the one room her dog uses is Winnie the Pooh decorated...makes her feel less guilty)

How adorable!

Oh, good idea. I hear there is a large driveway in Ohio and an empty lot behind a house in Florida! :thumbsup2

Sounds pefect:thumbsup2 Just no Ohio in the winter!!!!:lmao:

Got that right! It is really icy on that driveway right now with all the freeze and thaw.

I did door to door for our levy campaign today, and it was supposed to go into the 40's today, but was REALLY cold! Did not near that - walked several streets with a teacher from our HS who teaches tropical biology and takes her class every year during Spring Break to Costa Rica to study a rainforest.

Going door to door these days can be a real experience, let me tell you.

I am trying to get Brent's babysitter and my dog to get along so she can stay here. My dog picks and chooses who she likes which is few and far between. My dh will only be gone 11 days so if we have to we will board her. We go to Pet Lodge which has been on the travel channel for being one of the top 5 kennels in the states. Except the price, we love it! We go to Mexico for a week and the kennel bill is more than we spend on our trip!

Thanks John, I will try this next time I think it's my computer that's slow. Good trick!

That would be a wonderful dream gift to win!
It was amazing and perfect. It was me, DM, and sister and we were only in the MK for one day so we got to do everything. I will find pics and post later if we remimbered to take any. We were very busy.

going to try the spray tan myself this time. My sister just did it yesterday, off to Hawaii today, so I'm getting the info from her upon return next week on how it was. I think I need a week of vacation to get ready for vacation, wax, tan, hair cut, pedicure & packing !!!

I would get the spray tan a few days early. On some people is rubs of on their clothes for a few days. It works different on different people.

Me too - but I wear long sleeves to the beach and snorkel in a skin......too much sun in Florida - but it is nice.....expecially today - we were diving, it is cold underwater on days like today - about 40 minutes at 70 degrees...brrr....

I would love a short wet suit but they cost too much. I wore one at Discovery Cove and didn't get burned and stayed warm in the water

We have two dogs. They used to have to go into boarding which was really pricey. The last 2 week vacation it came out to about $900, but there was no alternative.

I now have someone who comes and stays here while we're gone to take care of the dogs. It comes out to MUCH MUCH less than that. Plus the dogs are happier.

Also there was the whole hassle of getting to the boarding place the day before and dealing with the hours they were open, and then needing to get home on a Saturday before the boarding place closed, otherwise they couldn't be picked up until Monday, which meant more money, taking another day off work, etc. etc.

So this works out well.

The dog is going to a kennel that we trust (one of the store Managers at our company and his wife own the kennel).

The fish - I bought an automatic feeder at the pet store for our last vacation.

The gerbils and the hermit crabs are going either to auntie's house or grandma's house.

Hopefully, no more pets in the next 70 days!

I bought one for DH to snorkel in. I got it online at snorkeldirect.com and only paid $50 for it. I thought that was a good bargain. You can find them on the internet for less. You can do a search or check ebay or just go to snorkeldirect.

Our kennel is open 7am-7pm, 7 days a week and you can pay extra to have someone there at other times. 2 couples live there so that helps.

Ok, so I have to admit that I have an agreement with my best friend.....If ever I am in an accident or something, don't come straight to the hospital...first go to my house and make sure it is presentable!!!
I have promised the same for her....after all, what are true friends for....right?

When I was teaching, I had a similar deal with the woman who was our aide--if anything happened to me, she was to clean out my classroom. It arose because one of our colleagues died unexpectedly. She was a real pack rat, even for an elementary school teacher!:scared1: She had collections of egg cartons, spools, all that stuff a real teacher KNOWS she'll use for something someday. We couldn't help but have a laugh over the stuff that was uncovered. But after it was all over I made Carol (the aide) promise me that she'd get rid of the really gross stuff right away. Fortunately for Carol, I retired before I could die, so she was spared! I, on the other hand, had to face the music of my years of "collecting"!:lmao:

so most of our time was in the ESPN interactive one these GIRLS are mad for baseball-----all they wanted to do was play ball and also basketball, which really, showed me Samantha is like Johnny - a true athelete.
This ESPN has been a lot different than previous...a little blah...

My wonderful neighbor is going to take care of my boo boo kitty. I had to beg and plead as my college sitter isn't going to be home yet, but she said yes. That was my last obstacle.

Gydell, I love the new additions of the ducky and the bunny in the signature. They look like so much fun.....very spring! I like that. It means we're getting closer.

I remember sitting with John last year and saying that the new Panama Canal trip is available to book.......wouldn't it be an experience of a lifetime to do this cruise.....so on Feb 2nd we booked it. I remember that flashback as clear as day and now here we are just two months away and I have all of you to share the trip with. Oh what fun! I couldn't imagine in my wildest dreams that I would meet and make so many new friends. It really is a blessing.
