While Ihave been reading about all the excirsions everyone is doing... I just want to nothing...just nothing at all. I guess daniel and I will find a beach to go to at each location... And just chill. Sounds wonderful right about now!

That's exactly what you need right now......a couple of leisurely afternoons spent on some beautiful beaches with Daniel for company. Perfect. You'll be there soon. Just hang in there.

My flight to MCO has changed AGAIN! We were suppose to arrive at 11:30 and now it's 2:15.

What a tremendously generous action!

Jan :earsgirl;

The Locks of Love IS such an awesome gift. My #2 DD, Lindsay, did it last year. 11 Inches.....it took my breath. But, when the dust cleared and I regained my breath, it was the best feeling ever!!
We took photos and put it in the paper and they sent her a Thank You card in the mail. It was a grand experience for her.

Thanks - I was just pulling up my file manager to try and remember where on the website I had put the files. Saved me some time! :goodvibes

Thought I would share a story for those wondering about getting stamps in your passport. (I've never gotten one on a DCL cruise. :sad2: )

Last summer DW and I took a Med Cruise with Princess. We started in Greece, visited Turkey, Israel, Egypt, and ended in Rome. When we boarded the ship, they took and kept our passports. Before arriving in Turkey, they gave them back to us already prestamped for Turkey. When we got back on the ship after Turkey, they again collected our passports. The same was done for Egypt and Rome. But Israel was a bit different.

On the sea day before we arrived in Israel, we had to go to one of the lounges. There, a crew member handed us our passport that had the Israeli immigration paperwork tucked inside. When you go to Israel, they won't normally stamp your passport because a lot of countries won't let you in if you have an Israel stamp in it. (My father has to passports for this reason - he works both in Israel and Saudi Arabia, and has to have a permanent visa for both - so they made arrangements for him to have two different passports).

We then had to meet an Israeli immigration officer (who had boarded back in Athens). He inspected our passports, asked us few questions. He stamped the insert as we talked. Once he was done, we asked if we could have a stamp in the passport too. He looked at us silently for second, his eyes watered, he responded 'Absolutely' and reached for our passports and very deliberately stamped them. He handed them back, thanked *us* and got up and walked us out of the lounge (the only time we saw someone do that - and there were 5-6 immigration officers present in the room dealing with other passengers).

Very neat story.

Well some people worry about their underpants being clean and fresh in case of an accident. I worry about my house. What would my family think if they had to come to my house right now and sort through my belongings? Crazy sounding I know but my house being clean makes me happy.

Plus it is so much easier to maintain a clean house then having to spend hours doing a deep clean on a dirty house. Which is why it may sound nuts my kids clean their rooms every night, the fact is they are never really "dirty" so it is not a big deal and not a fight between them and I.

So for me keeping the house clean is the easy way out. :thumbsup2

Ok, so I have to admit that I have an agreement with my best friend.....If ever I am in an accident or something, don't come straight to the hospital...first go to my house and make sure it is presentable!!!
I have promised the same for her....after all, what are true friends for....right?

everyone is asleep....

the room SUCKS but it's close and cheap!

AND . . . you got free Wi Fi apparently! $10 a night at a WDW resort!

What V and I were talking about the other night . . . we both made reservations to fly out on the same Frontier flight to Denver on Tuesday after the cruise - we would get home in the mid-afternoon. Well, Frontier has changed our flights. We are now on different flights to Denver, and we get home LATE Tuesday night. After 11:00!

Not much choice for us, as we want to fly into our regional airport here. John and V have many choices flying into Tampa, so we will have to talk when they get back from ESPN weekend.

It's our Mother's Day tomorrow. I have already received a plant arrangement and a bowl of hyacinths which I love.

I tell my children not to bother as my daughter and 2 daughter in laws are mothers themselves now and need to be pampered.

This year I get to have 2 Mother's Days!!!
  Happy Mother's Day Marilyn :flower3: How lucky to have 2 this year!

:lmao: :rotfl: We have many stores now that are offering the "service" of letting us scan and bag our own items. No discount for doing that, so I am :confused3 why would I do that?? KMart, WalMart, Fred Meyer (our local everything under one roof, now owned by Kroeger store) all have self scan available. But, until they give me at least a bit of a discount I will take let then ring it up and bag it for me! :)
We have self scan in the store where I work. We have 6 , and they are always busy. We were one of the 1st stores in Ontario to have them. We opened this store in 2001. I was surprised at how fast they caught on, the elderly were just as interested in learning how to use them as were children. A lot of people feel rushed going through a regular check-out, they can't keep up with each item to see what they were charged and they don't always like how the items are packed in bags, so they gain some control at the self-scan. I was worried at first that they would take away jobs, but this doesn't seem to be happening. People still want a choice, and this choice is good for some, but not for others. Also, they still need someone to help when they break down :headache: and to balance them daily, wish I didn't know this perspective quite so well

Lisa, Deb is right, this is exactly what you and Daniel need, so glad you will be able to enjoy each and every day together :goodvibes You both deserve this cruise

Oh Gydell, that's horrible. How do you know, where do you check. Do you have to go to the airline's website and click on what? You can tell that I never fly. I have my confirmations and etickets filed, but that doesn't tell me the status of my flights. I guess I better go to the airlines websites and check.

Thanks for the heads up Gydell. Sorry about your news, but at least you know now, before leaving for the flight.

But I can carry 7 or 8 of those plastic ones( hung on my arms) plus a gallon of milk and a pack of papertowels in at one time. Many more trips out to the car to carry in the paper ones. :guilty:

What will we use to clean the litter box into? Paper will not hold up to that challenge :scared1:

I have a question for the Disneyland regulars...
We are only going to be able to stay over Sun and Mon at Disneyland, and haven't been before. What are the don't want to miss things you suggest?
It's me, DH, and 4 kiddies, ages 12-4. Thanks for any suggestions.

:rotfl2:

:rotfl: Jane Austen is rolling over in her grave :rotfl:

Isn't Barton Cottage Sense and Sensibility?

Yes dear... it is... How foolish of me (Kitty giggles)

I get confused between Colin Firth and Hugh Grant and then I get really screwed up when they appear in BJD!!!

Marr,

I like the term mad money. In my case, considering how much I set aside it was more like lunatic money!

Not quite sure what I was thinking, but if I live up to it, you should all find me passed out in a deck chair for 15 days, surrounded by empty glasses of fruity-fatty-boozy drinks (at least the little umbrellas will provide a form of shade).

Actually I feel much better knowing that it is all taken care of. I just want to really enjoy the cruise and not have sticker shock at the end (and fruity-fatty-boozy drink remorse).

I wonder, how much do people allocate for photos? I haven't set any money aside for them.

.

Pack umbrella straws... CHECK....

OMG, you are a much better mom than me. Can you come teach my kids?
Lisa

Come teach me!!! I'm the one who is going to see if I can keep the place going in between the Merry Maids!!!

Tough night here in DC. I was so excited to finally get to see my girls preform in Footloose tonight. It is the 4th of 6 shows. Gretchen made me feel bad for not coming to the first 3 shows.

Well frank has taken another bad turn with 104 fever and high blood pressure. They decided they wanted to run a battery of tests on him tonight and they thought it best if a family member be here at the hospital with him.
Well DH just can't be here cause he is the director and his brother said he is just to busy cleaning tonight (?????) So it looks like me.

My girls are just going to kill me. There are two shows tomorrow... But I really wanted to go tonight.

Lisa....

You need to do what's best for you. Maybe not now, but the girls will understand when they are older and you have also set a very good example for them. Their cousins will not learn to care for someone half as much as your girls will....

You have us to lean on!!! :grouphug:

That is MICKEY YELLOW. ::MickeyMo
DCL had to get special permission from the Coast Guard (or some power-that-is) to not use the normal life boat color. So we are SPECIAL!!

Jan :earsgirl:

I know... I was just thinking of standing out from all the other lifeboats out there!!! I was thinking a nice shade of blue... Pink, maybe??? We'd blend in with the sunset, though, right?

The bottom line is that we do what we must because we know that it's the right thing to do. There's no question, we just do it and we know it's right and we can sleep easily at night.

Ok Ladies... i"m not an overly religious person but I believe that when it's your turn many many years from now at the pearly gates... there will be a special mention of all that you've done. Sort of a Fast Pass into heaven...

Ok, so I have to admit that I have an agreement with my best friend.....If ever I am in an accident or something, don't come straight to the hospital...first go to my house and make sure it is presentable!!!

I have an agreement with my niece... if something happens to me... DYE MY HAIR!!!!

I saw several Marks and Spencer in the Philippines when I was there.

Hi

Do you have Marks and Spencer in your area? Just wonder because some worldwide have it.

I saw one in Singapore and it was very expensive than my home:scared1:

Didn't see one in Australia, not sure about Amercia?

Most airlines would send you an email or such... but I always check to see what's going on and especially the day before... I call to confirm!!!

What airline are you flying?

We spoke to our 4th grade's teacher today and broke the news of the cruise. She was great. We talked about making a powerpoint presentation on the panama canal, and we might tie in information on the Gold Rush, as that is what he is studying. Does anyone have any plans on having their kids do a report? I was thinking that it would be fun for them to do a group project. So any 4th graders that might be interested, let me know! We are telling our kids on Easter. After Easter, for whoever is interested, maybe they can start to do a little research before the cruise? I can take responsiblity of the power point. All the kids could then use the same one. Figure we can try to finish a lot of it before the cruise, and then add pictures from the cruises.

I'm on my 4th day of the juice fast/feast thing. Not sure what to say about it at this point. Lisa

Hi! I'm Heather and my husband was telling me about a possible group project for 4th graders on the Panama Canal. I would love to help and have our son take part in the project. I was thinking of having our son make a map book on the Panama Canal before we go. He study it in History just a few weeks ago but it was only one lesson and very short. I wanted us to study it a little bit more indepth. So please feel free to contact me.

Thank you, Heather
