There are worse ways you could spend the day, I guess.

Chores progressing slowly here...had to go meet Peg for a beverage break at the neighborhood sports bar...you know, something that just HAD to be done! :lmao:

I know have visions of myself sitting at the shreder at 2AM!

....later....

.

Jackie-

say "hi" to Peg for me and enjoy the nice sunny day today...its finally warming up...hopefully its won't get too hot too soon:scared1:

That bring up an interesting question. What chores do kids on this board do???

Jacinda (9 years old): she is the stair runner, anything that needs to go up or down the stairs she takes, she puts dishes in the sink, she runs the folded clean clothes upstairs and puts hers away. Her room is to be cleaned 100% each night before bed. There is to be nothing on the floor as I vaccuum each and every morning and anything that is on the floor ends up in the Dyson canister. She is supposed to make sure there is nothing belonging to her in any room in the house except for hers. That's about it.

Dominic (4 years old): He puts away his clean clothes and he cleans his room each night before bed.

As long as the kids have their rooms clean I will do the rest. They are really good about cleaning their stuff up and actually race at night to see who cleans their room faster. My son loves to be able to yell I WIN I WIN!

I decided today that I wanted to do some advanced payment for our onboard charges.

I sat down today to do a projection of our onboard charges for the trip, thinking through the trips, the excursions and how much we might spend on extras, Palo, trips to Cove and fruity-fatty-boozy drinks.

I opened my eyes, having realized that I was lying on the floor because I had passed out from the projected amount.

I dutifully called DCL and put my money down. There was then a sharp noise in my ear, and I was lying on the floor. I had passed out again and the phone was off the hook.

So, this has been a thrilling day. Ordering tuxedos, prepaying fruity-fatty-boozy drinks and taking cheesecake photos of Mrs. Bennett.

.

Congrats. We have been doing the same thing. Been a great week. Got our room assignment a week ago, booked our excursions in 10 minutes (75 days out), no Palo though, have enough obc to pay for excursions & tips. And last night had dinner with my mom and she gave us our anniversary gift early, (May 16th, on board), "obc!"

going to try the spray tan myself this time. My sister just did it yesterday, off to Hawaii today, so I'm getting the info from her upon return next week on how it was. I think I need a week of vacation to get ready for vacation, wax, tan, hair cut, pedicure & packing !!!

I need to book a week of vacation prep for me as well. I have appointments scheduled for all those things in the week we leave for the cruise. Gotta look good for all those vacation pictures! :thumbsup2

It's our Mother's Day tomorrow. I have already received a plant arrangement and a bowl of hyacinths which I love.

I tell my children not to bother as my daughter and 2 daughter in laws are mothers themselves now and need to be pampered.

This year I get to have 2 Mother's Days!!!

Happy first Mother's Day Marilyn.....I'll see you in person to wish you a happy second Mother's Day!!

Took measurements for the tails and dinner jackets today and emailed them in. I suppose I'll hear back pricing on Monday from Tuxxman for the ensembles I requested and then I'll place the order.

I wonder if they still do baby blue bell bottomed polyester tuxes with ruffled collars?
.

This coming from the guy who was picking out which jewels I should wear!!! You know I think both brothers wore those in the 70's....:scared1:

I think the CC line will be alot longer than the regular line is for this cruise.

Yeah, but the Palo line will have all of us newbies on it... :confused3

Ah ha, UPS is 7 days from coast to coast. Funny the US Mail is faster, but not as easy to track of course. I'll look for the boys in brown next week...They also hit here at the end of the day ~ 7pm

Oh Nan... watch out for those boys in brown..... :cloud9:

Chatty chatty...

Love the chumby report! I'm glad she is settling in in chicago.

We went to "camp fair" today, sponsored by the American Camping Association. I had no idea how expensive camp was...holy cow! We found a bunch that taylor would like to do, including a few sleep away camps. They even had the camp I went to...OMG...Camp Loma Mar..anyone go there?

Was this for day camps in your area and some sleep away destination camps? I am looking for things for j to do during the summer this year. Last year she did a bunch of day camps at the club, not sure if she is ready for sleep away camp or not.

Sounded just right to my ear

Oh good...we're both probably wrong!!!

You're calling me that for the entire cruise, now aren't you???

that is your name isn't it?

Yes Maj.... As in Your....

Nan... is she a lady in waiting??? she should be for that reception...

I'll have to privately address the qualifications with her...you know we might have more people trying to barge the court if we leak this info....

Find out how Royal her lineage is and get back to me... but if she brings the booze.... she's in!!!

Holy Moly! You vacuum every day!?!?!

I've got the first one, picked it up at Barnes and Noble since I wanted to see it before buying it. Good book. A bit young, Molly will read it for sure but not at grade level (5th grade) Better for my 2nd grader

I have the first one as well. The cruise ship one Liserann has but I don't think she said it was all that good. The last one I don't have and haven't seen.

Everytime we have gone since they started the SW boarding pass system, they gave us our number as we started up the escalator...or was it at the top of the escalator. Anyway at the escalator

Yea, we used to get them as we walked in the front door at the bottom of the elevator. Not this time. I don't know if it will stay this way or if that was just for the one time.

What is SW?

I will check in from time to time, it is nice to have a few familiar names and faces around.:)

Hello...my roommate from college lives on MV (she's been there since 1992 and has 2 kids..DD11 and DS 4 or 5)...I know it is a pretty small place so you probably know her! I haven't been there in forever but I love it. Do you live there year round?

Hey...gabby twins...any of your kids go to sleep away camp in the bay area? Any recommendations?

Molly is doing I think 2 this summer. 2 weeks at Sons of Norway camp near Tahoe, Norweigan culture, dancing, lanuage etc...

Then Daybreak Camp in Felton, one week. It's owned by our church.

Perhaps a girl scout camp, we haven't looked at them yet, but will need to soon they fill up fast.

I'm going to have a peaceful summer, no fighting kids!!! Now if I could get little brother to go too!!!! (he might go to Norway camp too)

I was going to suggest a week at Nan's house, but then she's going to promptly send them to me... I will apologize in advance for any bad habits they pick up along the way... but hey...we'd have FUN!!! (see all my nieces and nephews for references...)

Where Mrs. Bennett promptly jumped off the counter and administered CPR...

You know Michelle ... Mr. Collins would make a very good name for another Chumby ...

But would he be invited to Barton Cottage???

Ian...your posts add a great laugh to my day!!! Thanks for sharing. So, are you a TR writer as well, I bet yours would be great. Mrs. Bennett looks wonderful and it is now on my sooner rather than later wish list! I think she would look great on my desk at work.

Wait.... That was Rosings!!!

How could I get that wrong????

Bad Jane Austen Reader!!! :lmao:

Lisa (Calmom) let me know if you want to take the lead on setting up a basic powerpoint for the kids or if you would like me to. I can't remember if you said you were good with powerpoint or not...if you are good with powerpoint, I'll gladly let you take the lead on this one:goodvibes . Jaide is pretty good at doing powerpoint on her own so I would just let her set it up and I'd help her add all the other kids into it. I think each of our kids are going to have a project to remember!
