I did buy a black sleeveless shell with shiny black sequines all over the front at Beall's for 70% off and then I got 15% more off today for being over 50!!! Being old is SOOO GREAT!:hippie:

Connie

Sounds pretty! And a good deal too!

Regarding passports:

V, I'm with you - haven't got them yet. Mine is lost, DH has his, but kids don't have them. We are going this week to get them. They are saying there are no delays at this time, 4-6 weeks. I might still pay to expediate them HOWEVER

You do not need them to go on this cruise. You would need them if there was an emergency and you had to fly home immediately. If you didn't have them, and you needed to fly home, you would have to go to the U.S. embassy at whatever stop we were and apply for an emergency one. I think that takes 24-48 hours and I have no idea how much it costs. Probably a lot.
need to fly home. Initially, I was going to for sure get them when my Grandmother was alive. Then when she passed, I did consider not getting them. However, DH and I decided we will get them - mostly because we are planning a Europe trip in '11 for my parents 50th and figure we might as well use them for both.

Don't mean to start a debate. I reconginze the cost of the passports is nothing when compared to your peace of mind in case of emergency. Just wanted to clarify that you don't need them to board.

Lisa

US Citizens DO need to have ORIGINAL birth certificates WITH THE RAISED seal if you do not have passports as well as a picture ID. I still think you should check on the rules for the countries we will be passing through. Connie

I told John he needs to sit and think today how much cash we should actually take.....I am so undecided....don't want to charge much.

Hopefully doing the excursions on our own will help a bit as well. We don't so the speciality coffee so no worries with Cove Cafe....the spa would be nice, but at our rehab here at work an hour is $30-40....maybe a few rainforest trips. We'll bring drinks for some savings....Aside from pins and maybe a few shirts or ornaments I don't see us buying much from the cruise shops......

You are going to do excursions on your own? Which ones? Who did you book with? Chuck and Mike didn't get in on the Canopy Zip line, but that's what they both want to do. Connie

Happy Birthday Bubba!

I can't believe how much snow you're getting down there John! Is this amount normal for you?

I think it is more than usual. Last year not as much snow, but colder.

John,

Remember this is all being caused by GLOBAL WARMING and we will all be living in a tropical climat soon. So put a FOR SALE sign on that snow blower and relax.:cool1: :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Doug

There is about eight inches of snow on my deck now, and that is after several melts too. Not ready for selling the blower yet!

There are two in Port Huron, about 3 miles apart on the same street but opposit sides. They are between the bridge (to Canada) and the mall. Have to service those Canadian shoppers - lol. There is one in Marysville (about 10 miles south).

The donut are so so but the fresh coffee and the hot chocolate are what I hear raves about. I don't drink coffee so I don't really know.

We have had them for about 2-3 years now.
Oh, I know somebody from Marysville! We were roommates quite a few years ago while she was in Kzoo to go to WMU. I haven't seen her since around 1999. Hmmmm......I should look her up. Every time I'm in Detroit and drive past the baseball stadium, when I see the tiger statues out front, I think of her because she said her dad's company made those. Pretty cool!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUBBA!!!!

I think Bree is pretty popular in Australia, haven't heard too many Brees in the USA now. I hadn't heard it before I moved to AUS.

What names are unique to your neck of the woods, Marilyn?

Jolene

p.s. Just in case anyone was wondering (since we are on the subject of names), Bindie - the daughter of the (late) Crocodile Hunter - is the name of a common, prickly weed in Australia. It's been theorized that her name is an Aboriginal term or something to that effect.

Bindie is a slang short version of Belinda, usually. Us Aussies shorten everything with an 'e' sound at the end eg breakfast (brekky), kindergarten (kindy), biscuit (biccy) etc - you get the the piccy (picture)!!:rotfl:

I don't know how long you have been in Australia, but over here there is a generation where quite a few girls are called Kylie or Charlene!!

And over here are a generation of girls who would NOT be caught dead being named after a Neighbours character (not at all cool here!!!):lmao: Apologies to any Kylie's or Charlene's out there....it is an Aussie thing to not like those names since Kylie Minogue starred in a local soap opera twenty years ago....:thumbsup2

dont worry as they are beautiful girls :thumbsup2

Scottishwee35:thumbsup2

Thanks so much!!!

ok, back from the doc....both check ups went well, Samantha got four shots for K, she screamed!
we then went and got their passport photos and applied for them as well. 4-6 weeks is what we were told.

Good to hear!!! I'm sure that the girls will be over their shots soon!!! :grouphug:

They probably are plastic so I'll bring waterproof tape.

There are 90 villas - 3 bedrooms each - we should be able to squeeze in. $3500 a night!

$3500 divided by how many of us??? I'll bring the aero beds...

I plan to buy this:

And this:

Unless I get there first!!!! Ok... I'll share!!! Was that from the ship only??? I guess they wouldn't have stuff like that at DTD?

Michelle, loved it!

Naming your inanimate objects shows a certain amount of class!

My first car, a 1983 Nissan Sentra (I did not learn to drive until I was 27 years old and moved to Chicago) had a name. His name was Yussel.

It just shows you are dining with someone with a wacky sense of humor... Right Jackie (see below...)

Some wacko named Tink rules.......
:rolleyes1 ;)

Nah, just 'stuff', excursions, events, are we ever going to have time to sleep on the ship, will Aunty Brat ever post....you know...stuff.

I may be wacky... but I'm FUN!!!

Yeah, they have a hole that we call "timbits" we launch them at those who try to go against us, lol.

They even sold a doll of him/her way back when, yes I had one, lol.

Michy??? oh... sorry... that's me... :flower3:

This will be Jacinda's first year of real summer vacation! We have the APs for Disney and for Sea World and for the Wild Animal Park. I want to do a week or so down south hanging out going to these places. I go to Disneyland the most in Oct Nov Dec. I love the Halloween Treat, and then for Thanksgiving and Christmas. My happy time of the year. :)

ooo - maybe we can do a post cruise meet at Mickey's Halloween Treat! Is it too early to plan that?

Good Morning Marilyn.....I woke up at 2am and found out that I was 25 pages behind and started reading. I have not been feeling well so I've been sleeping a lot....I'm taking pain killers and they're knocking me out.

It's very hard for me to keep up with the reading much less time for posting these days.

I do my best to keep up though. I'll feel better in a few days and be right back. For now, it's mostly reading.

Hope you feel better soon

Oh, Ian, :upsidedow Canadians do donuts and coffee, coffee cake takes too long, lol.

Pj

Thank you PJ, I was beginning to wonder if I would have to hand back my Canadian card as I had no idea about a coffee cake?? It's coffee and donuts here too (although I don't drink coffee). Anyone ready for a Timmy's run?

Connie, Chris is an awesome fellow. He did a double dip last year for halloween, the Western followed by the Eastern. He had several of us up for bubbles before the rooms were ready, we had to jump the rope :tiptoe: to get to the suite it was great, lol.

Ah the middle of the night Timmy's run, nothing better, and some are getting free wireless.

Krispy Kreme was here for a while, but after about 3 years they closed most of them, I think there is one left. There are a couple Dunkin Donuts, I know of one in a Mall, but not many.
