Take care and say hello to your mum for us....

Chris,Hazel and the clan...:)

Okay, skimmed really fast over the last 20 pages. Here's my responses:

Nan,

I watched AI tonight just to see your daughter's friend. That young man is destined for greatness!!!!!!! I just hope Simon didn't jinx him.

That's Linda (seaulater's daughter's friend) but I'll watch tonight too and see who that is too!!!

I thought the UT (I think) David did GREAT!

I think David did great too. Was a little worried when they said he was singing a John Lennon song, but I thought he has the best voice performance of the night.

molly keeps talking about locks of love, but it makes me so sad to think of her losing her long hair. loss of innocence.

I cut off my hair almost 2 years ago and donated it to locks of love. It was something I always wanted to do. It is now just above shoulder length (cuz I got it trimmed again last week)

hey Linda... don't your kids get crazy when they have to do bday AND mothers day??? We always "complain" to my mom because it's either that day or right around then!!!

Heck no......their idea of a birthday and stuff is "Hey mom, how about we take you out to dinner tonight for your birthday!"

No salting allowed here in Orygun. Not good for the environment they say. :confused3

Our roads here in Utah are so bad right now with potholes from all the salt this winter.

Have a GREAT time Linda!!! Think of us!!! (here at home...shoveling snow...)

Will do! Can't wait to be on the water tomorrow at this time. I have my handy little list of questions to find out and will report in next Monday or Tuesday (depending on how crazy it is when I return Monday!) Leave the office in 2 1/2 hours!

Okay back to work!

Regarding passports:

V, I'm with you - haven't got them yet. Mine is lost, DH has his, but kids don't have them. We are going this week to get them. They are saying there are no delays at this time, 4-6 weeks. I might still pay to expediate them HOWEVER

You do not need them to go on this cruise. You would need them if there was an emergency and you had to fly home immediately. If you didn't have them, and you needed to fly home, you would have to go to the U.S. embassy at whatever stop we were and apply for an emergency one. I think that takes 24-48 hours and I have no idea how much it costs. Probably a lot.

You did need them on the Europe cruises as that was Europe. If you look at the passport threads, there is a lot of chatter on this. I agree it is important to have for an emergency, although we took the 7 day cruise in Jan 07 without them. The date the change became effective was during that cruise, so basically we only had 3 days (1 at sea) that we were "rolling the dice." 15 days to roll the dice seems too much, although I certainly considered during the embassy route (not getting them and just planning on paying the big bucks if need be). I really can't think of too many situations, other than sudden and unexpected death of a loved one, that the whole family would need to fly home. Initially, I was going to for sure get them when my Grandmother was alive. Then when she passed, I did consider not getting them. However, DH and I decided we will get them - mostly because we are planning a Europe trip in '11 for my parents 50th and figure we might as well use them for both.

Don't mean to start a debate. I reconginze the cost of the passports is nothing when compared to your peace of mind in case of emergency. Just wanted to clarify that you don't need them to board.

Lisa

We just got ours and we received them in 10 days. They told us 4-6 weeks. I guess they hired a lot of people so they could speed up the process. That doesn't mean you should wait until May 1 to get them!!!!!

He is so cute. Hope he let you sleep last night.

I had forgotten what it was like to have a puppy at night. Actually he wasn't really bad. He cried and whined for about 10 minutes but then went to sleep. Woke up around 3:30, I put him out, found out my old lady dog had a problem and cleaned that up. Then when I put Mickey back in his crate he cried for another 10 minutes and then went to sleep. Right now he is really cute. I have some dirty clothes on the bathroom floor and he has found them and decided that they make a great bed. Much better than the one in his exercise pen. At least he is quiet and I was able to catch up here.

Well we had an earthquake last night. It woke John but I slept through. 5.something, our biggest ever, but up to a few years ago we never knew we even had earthquakes!

Plenty of talking about it going on on the TV. Interesting. Lets see if they blame it on global warming!;)

This has been on our news today, too.

Florence, Florrie or Flo? I do think that will be back in fashion.

My middle name is Florence. Actually I was named after both my grandmothers who were named Florence. One went by Flo, the other Flossie.

Bindi sounds so Australian doesn't it?

Most popular boys names in order are Jack,Thomas, Joshua, Oliver and Harry.

Girls in order are Grace, Ruby, Olivia, Emily and Jessica.

There is quite a bit of difference in 'social demographic areas', and some places there is more copying of soap opera names and famous star babies' names are popular.

Grace is my niece's name.

Hi, everyone! I haven't been on since Sunday, and there's no way I'm going to catch up the almost 100 pages, so please let me know if i missed anything important!!

I'm going to be crazed for the next 2 weeks as we get ready to go into Tech Week for the kids' latest production, so I wont' be around much. At least I'll be getting my Disney fix, as it's Disney's High School Musical onstage.

I guess this just about confirms all of those rumors that have going around. Think I would personally rather buy into the Animal Kingdom than the Contemporary. It never was one of my favorites.

Carol

I agree! But we have 650 points, so I don't think we are in the market to buy any more right now anyway!

I have collected a staggering number of Canadians.

Hardly a morning goes by that I don't open the front door to let the dogs out, that I find a smiling Canadian standing on my front porch with a coffee cake in one hand and a thermos of coffee in the other.

I don't intend to be mean, but it's starting to get downright odd.

For some reason, at a late stage in life, I have discovered that I have Canadian-appeal.

Actually, nearly all of the original team that worked on Mouse Manager are Canadian.

I can recall that about midway through development, there was a HUGE fight over the tool's name.

They (the Canadians that is) ganged up on me and were insisting that the name be changed to Mouse Manager, Eh?.

I had to really resist this pressure from our neighbors to the north. Nearly every other day a threatening coffee cake arrived in the mail.

I had to hang tough though (as only we Americans can do, no matter how many coffee cakes are hurled at us).

The name, mercifully remained, Mouse Manager.

I have to go now, this morning's Canadian is insisting I have a second helping of their coffee cake.

Man, did I need a laugh today! Thanks, Ian!

It worked! So cute!

Thank you!

It worked and cute smiles is what I see.

They only smile like that when I can bribe/threaten them!

Jolene - Very cute! I love the colors on the first one...that's a unique shot.

Thanks!

It worked BEAUTIFULLY!!! This thread needs more pics. ;)
Too many words to read to get caught up. :rotfl:

Thanks!

Hi

Yes I see the photos, these are lovely.

Did I talked you about top deck?

Scottishwee35

Thank you Deborah, not sure was that question for me? Sorry, I am a little confused today.

So is anyone getting out of the lifeboat? I haven't kept up, but geez, thought at least some people would be getting rooms!

Doesn't appear so.:confused3

I look first thing in the morning Uk time and am really hopeful that magic number will be in place of that word - guaranteed!! But no. I know they say it will be 30 days ish out, but I keep hoping.

I know I am on the ship, and I know some people are just happy with that, but I would like to know.

Ok, life as a single dad and working in accounting is catching up with me. Hope there was nothing too important in the last 35 pages from today that I missed. I am taking a short break from the work I brought home as I am coming up on our Fiscal Quarter end and that means lots to do. So if I am not lurking, know that I am here in spirit. I SO need a vacation! Somebody please pass me another mug of beer!

Steve... just pack some pink undies and you'll be fine!!!

Ok... I hear Carole King's "I feel the earth move...under my feet"

Welcome John, nice to have another male presence here

OHHHHH more testosterone... :goodvibes

Did she have guidelines for naming appliances?

.

No but my grandfather did... he named his car BEDELIA and now my car is BDELIA (it's what I could get on my license plate...) Nobody else in the family remembered it but I did... I guess I just had something special...

We bought our first 300 points on the 11 night SC and are thinking of buying a few more. We are waiting to see what they offer on this cruise.

V, I get stamps on the eastern cruise, but not on the western. I have several Charolette Amelie (?) stamps and PC stamps.

They offer baked goods???? Wow... my neighbors don't...

I figure our door signs will cover it up!

Are the LB's metal??? They look plastic to me...

You guys may laugh but I wanted to name my oldest daughter "Hepsibah". It is a very very very old fashioned biblical name. My husband said no, so I settled on naming my bottle calf that name!

Jolene

I'm sure Hepsy is a very happy cow!!! (cue CA cow commercial...)

Just working today. It is so weird . . . I woke up at about 3:45 am and couldn't go back to sleep. I find that all I do is think about three things:

1. The fact that I have one of my managers out ill and I'm figuring out how to do his job in addition to mine - always fun.

2. Hearing the music from Chicago in my head because I watched it the other night.

3. GOING ON THIS CRUISE!!!! It seems like that thought is in my head pretty much all my waking hours!!

Ok... try the music from Chicago... I'd suggest starting out with "Only the Beginning" and ending with "25 or 6 to 4"....

This is where I am thinking about going next summer(1009). The villas.

They have enough room for all of us????

This is where I'm going... and where I've gone for the last 40 years...

Did all of you in Florida lose power yesterday?

Thanks for asking - about 1 million folks - mostly south in Dade - but some as far as Jax. Even WDW was cut pursuant to an agreement - a real mess. We were ok but folks to the north and south were not.
