John, I just borrow the CDs, form the library, and make my own audio books for the ipod, listen to them once then get rid of the file, I rarely read a paper book twice either.

Pj

Yes PJ, but then I would have to get in the car and actually DRIVE to the library!

John, I like your new addition to your signature: "Rhinestone DISboy"! :thumbsup2

Pretty funny. That has been there for about a month. Whenever Woody made the Rhinestone Cowboy comment. I wondered when someone would catch it.

IHOP was good. I forgot how tempting chocolate chip pancakes can be. I didn't get them, but my little cousin did and I ate off his plate. I had hash browns too, I can't wait for the cruise..hash brown are a luxury!

hee hee that is what Wilson had for lunch today too!!!:thumbsup2

Ah, i get them sent to the branch across from work, so I only have to walk across the street, then I can drop them at the branch across from my condo, another walk.

accountants may be the only ones to accept this......aside from the screen - my main reason for this computer was the kepad on the laptop....gotta have my numbers!

You can buy a USB numeric keypad.

Alex's first college laptop was a 17" HP. That thing was HUGE. Now he has a 15" Macbook Pro.

A Tail's Tale

Why don't you want to look on eBay??? They are really cheap and you can get measured at a local rental place and then just place your order.

We have been very happy with what we have gotten....

Just curious, are you not an eBayer????

The number pad is important to our Commerce students, we love the LGs for them because at 15" they get the full keypad.

Opinions on Digital Cameras and Memory Cards

I saw some postings on this and am just going to chime in with my opinion here.

I personally do not recommend getting a mammoth 4GB memory card or anything like that. Here's my reasoning why, in my opinion, it is putting all of one's proverbial eggs in one basket (these are the views of the author and do not necessarily represent the views of other on the thread, the DIS, Disney, or this television station).

I have had memory cards go bad on me and become corrupted. While it may be a pain to swap out cards, my feeling are that if anything goes bad, I only lose the photos on that card and not everything.
[/SIZE]

Also, totally agree about all the eggs, BUT I need a 4 gig card(s) for my Canon Digital Rebel, otherwise I'd only get 100 or so shots on my littler cards. I use the high res, I also have many cards and trade them at will and down load to my laptop. But sometimes you need a big card...

V . . . you really should go to a store like Best Buy and look at similar laptops and see if you really like the size. For some people this is nothing, but to me a 17" laptop is like a barge. That's not what I want a laptop for. That is a desktop replacement. I loved my 12" Powerbook that Amy still uses, and love my 13" Macbook. A 17" laptop is also a lot to lug around, especially on a plane.

I totally agree! Hence the picture of my laptop with my purse. More then a purse full is way too much. If I can't fit it in there that means I have to lug a bigger bag to carry it. Not what I want in something I need to carry around with me. :crazy2: You should hit up Besy Buy and try some on for size it might help in the selection. :thumbsup2

I use a Sony Vaio and I love it. I have a smaller one that is able to fit in my purse. That is a big pluse for me. :thumbsup2

man that thing is small....

Quick question for anyone out there -- what is the deal with the Lanyards? I got an e-mail from Kelly wanting to know if I wanted to order -- couldn't find info about them.

Thanks

I haven't read mine yet, but I think the idea was (rather than me answering all the pms one at a time) an email when out to confirm your order.

Right Kelly?

Holly, no need to be sorry and no need to feel bad! Everytime my situation starts to get to me (and it does every so often as that is normal) I always end up seeing someone else who is in a worse situation from my vantage point and I say, "there but for the grace of G-d, go I" and I remember that my glass is half full and that I should be happy and thankful! Just remember that we are blessed to actually see miricles! (Lord knows when my oldest was finally out of dipers, it truely was a miricle!)

Hang tough and remember you are among friends with whom you can vent and not have to feel guilty about it!
:flower3:

Steve:

You have said it well. Every parent I believe thinks that what is going on with their child is the worst or hardest there ever has been. And we all struggle with making choices and parenting on a daily basis. We have a neighbor that has a disabled child that takes that child to the park at the end of our street everyday to swing. We have watched this man swing with his child all of Wilson's life (8 years). Paul and I try to tell ourselves when we are down and out on what is happening with our kids, whatever the dilemma of the day might be "there by the grace of God" we could be swinging at the park. I think we know that man is in a good place with his child, as he is swinging with him/her everyday. We are grateful for our child and our childs problems, no matter how big or small they are. We can swing at the park with our child. My hat is off to you. You are a great dad. Both of our glasses are always going to be full (half or more, depends on the time of day) and I will enjoy toasting mine with you on the ship. :thumbsup2

Ok, just so you all know...I'm watching the Academy Awards and have cried a couple of times...what a wuss!
