Hi on my blackberry. We have been at this dance competition since 6am. I am pretty tired but also very nervous. I decided to tell you guys and then maybe the nervousness will go away. Mostly, the dances are groups, but in a half an hour Gretchen goes on stage with just one one other dancer. The most important thing is for her not to know I am nervous so then she won't get nervous. There are about 1000 watching and 3 judges. I am sure she will do just fine. I have no idea how these kids can get up on stage in front of all those people.

I spent all last weekend at a dance competition at the DL Hotel. It was Showstoppers, have you heard of that? My sister owns a dance studio and we've been going to these since my niece was about 4. She is now the co-owner and choreagrapher of the competition numbers. It does get tiring, doesn't it? What type of dance is it that you are watching?

V, the Dell Inspiron 1420, is 14" comes in pink, under $800 or Inspiron 1525, is 15" comes in pink and under $700, neither come with Office, but your work should provide that if you are doing work at home.

non MAC users....what laptop would you recommend? I would primarily use it for the net, and work - which is excel based and net based....downloading pics, etc.

Have had good luck with the last 2 Dells that work has supplied me and have also had 2 Toshiba's that I liked before switching to MACs. (Yes I am a convert.)

I had to buy Office again, when I got my HP a few years ago, so that should be fine or one of the IS guys would load it for me, I hope!

V...I agree with Vista...and with these 2 that PJ just quoted (the 15" one was the one I was going to get before Scott stomped on my plans:sad2: ) you can go to the website and remove Vista and put XP on it. The option isn't available with the 14" one though, so you would need to go with the 15" one. And through the end of the month they are having a great sale and free shipping. (you can tell I researched it all and was ready to go.....)

We sold the Sony at the store this last BTS and we haven't had any returns or service issues, they are nice little machines.

The female DIS'ers on here can go on long strings of posts discussing shoes, and shoe envy. Pages and pages at times. My eyes start to glaze when those posts start . . . I was saying if they really want to get rid of me, just start that again.

Umm so I guess that means I can't post those shoe pictures I took? I mean they are really cute shoes.....

Sunny here, and Amy does not care for it V. At work, they think I should keep it, at home, Amy does not like it. Guess who wins?

Of course Amy wins! You don't smooch the guys at work. :rotfl: My vote though is keep it! Or try it again later. Maybe it will grow on her. OK that sounds odd but you know what I mean. :)

:thumbsup2

I have used a HP (memeory kept being erased), Gateway(screen blinks), and it was no a laptop but Dell(memory deleted, fan went out.). All have had problems. I am trying to convine DH to switch to MAC. I like my Gateway but the screen blinking on and off is annoying. I sent it off to be fixed but it started again. However the service was very quick.

I know thats of no help but that is my experience. Obvioulsy I am not meant to have a lap top.

Ok so they update on my moms friends is very sad. SHe passed away Sat night. But everyone is ok they woke her up one last time and said their goodbyes. Before she died she left written instructions that she didn't want a funeral were everyone was sad. She wants to be cremated and her DD and DSIL to go on a cruise and pour her into the sea. So they are going to have a service at the church and honor her wishes. At least she will be where she wanted to be. And she is not in anymore pain.:sad1:

:sad1: :grouphug: all around.

Now before you all laugh since a lot of you post about 12 degrees being toasty and warm. I keep my house at 72 most of the time and about 60 in the summer. Yes everyone tells me my house is like a little old lady's house. Hot in the winter and freezing in the summer. Oh well must have been all the years I spent tons of my time with my grandparents! I am sitting here and waiting for my bedroom to warm up.
That's me too, :thumbsup2

Glad I am not alone in that! I do not like it being so very cold at all!

Morning All! John...Jaide and I have read all of the HP books except the last one together. Of course I need to read them first because I couldn't stop every few chapters without knowing what happens next :lmao: V, what great memories!

One thing we started doing was downloading books on tape to our ipods and listening to them on road trips. Right now we are almost done with Peter and The Star Catchers....if you have not read this one yet....it is a must read! It is about how Peter became Peter Pan........
http://www.peterandthestarcatchers.com/ Oh my, I just went there and realized that there is now a 3rd book in the series....better get reading again!

Kaylee,

Where do you get yours? I download from Audible.com, but they do not have any of the HP books.

We listen to massive amounts of audio books around here, but the Harry Potters are our favorite because of Jim Dale

DH will be finding out that he is going on the cruise within the hour. Brent is coming over after church and doing the treasure hunt with him. PC cruise is the prize!

woo hoo I am sure he already knows but still how exciting!

the canon s5 is $399 is that a good price? is this an up to date camera? I guessI sould head to the photo board....

It was very hard to find it in sale but eventually did. I like it, it takes great pics but I don't have to carry extra lenses like theDSLRs do. I went to Best Buy and played with the camears there. The only thing is with the S5 you have to raise the flash manually but if you don't it tells you on the screen.

Hi all,
I've sent out hundreds of emails this morning regarding Lanyard Order Forms and Lanyard Donation Teams.

If you did not get the Lanyard Order Form please PM me with your email.

Thanks, Kelly
