OMG! What a wonderful idea! I too have a bunch of "expendable pins" thanks for the idea Jan! :thumbsup2

I've come across many a kid on my sails that soon become "bitten" by the pin bug and the poor parents end up buying several to trade. Course, not sure how the parents would love me after. :rotfl2:

But if you give the kid a few pins and one of your spare, old lanyards, he can do some trading and have fun WITHOUT Mom and Dad spending the money. it would be fun on the cruise if you see the kid again to see what he has traded for each time.

I'm serious. I do lead Weight Watchers meetings. I do it part time in addition to my normal Monday - Friday job.

I have lead 3 meetings on Sunday mornings, 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM. My 11:00 AM has 60 people in it.

Actually, this coming week I actually am leading 5 meetings. I'm subbing for another leader on Monday evening and then again next Saturday at 8:00 AM.

I really rather like leading meetings. It motivates me a lot and I learn a lot from my members. We also have a lot of fun.

Last week the topic was exercise, and I told one of the groups that I was looking forward to getting a Wii Fit, and doing virtual snowboarding. Then I jumped sideways and mimed snowboarding (imagine some pelvic thrusts). One of the members screamed, "Im blind! I'm blind!" The whole room cracked up including me.

I bought all new WW materials last time I was there...the new blue bag, I can't find it anywhere!! Guess I will have to suck it up and hit a meeting.

As I tell new members, "members who attend weekly meetings lose 3 times the weight of members who choose to go it alone."

Actually, I was not happy when I joined Weight Watchers. I told myself that I would "pretend the program worked" and follow it and I would attend weekly meetings and "pretend I liked the people."

After a while I stopped pretending. It did work and I really did like the people in my meeting. I became very close to them. When I hit goal, people were phoning members who couldn't make on their cell phones to give them the news.

Just remember one thing. It's what I tell new members in the getting started sessions I run ... you are not locked into a leader or a group. I run 3 meetings on Sundays and although the topic is the same, because of the group dynamics they are 3 completely different meeting.

I tell new members that they owe me nothing. If I don't click for them as a leader or the group doesn't, I encourage them to find a leader that works for them, a day and time that works and a group that works. I tell them that it is not about attending MY meeting but doing what they NEED to do to be successful.

On the WW subject. I love the program. I applaud you for being a leader. I do agree that you really have to click with you leader. I have had some not very motivating one in the past. My current leader I just adore. I really feel like she cares about me. I also find the ideas and support from the other members awesome. No matter what my challange might be, someone else has exprienced a simalur situation and has some advice. I also enjoy the food finds that are shared. I know that the meeting is not for everyone, but give it a try, you might make some new friends. And you can never have to many friends.

Here is the photo which I received it two days ago.

Her name is Annalyse.

I never heard that name before unusal name.

Scottishwee35

Such a cute baby. My neighbor across the street just had her 4th child and she named her Annalyse.

I love the charm bracelet idea. Mom, are you reading this!!!!!!! Oh yeah she isn't going this cruise. Darn it!

Pj

Next post is 6000, wow, will have to save it for a good one.

DO IT YOURSELF and thank your Mom when you get home!
Or do it with and for Amy and Sophia also so you have matching bracelets. Take turns choosing a new charm and buy three to share.

Does anybodies kids do Refections though the school PTA. It is a contest with a theme. You can write a story, take a picture, compose a song, or draw...(plus other things) and Gretchen wrote and sang a song and recorded it.

She won 1st place at the school level and Fairfax County and then she got 1st place in the district. Now she is competing for States.....pretty cool!! There was a ceremony today and she was embarrassed. She usually loves to be in the spotlight.

I'm seriously thinking of asking my doc to prescribe some Xanax for me because otherwise, I won't function well without a window. I'll surely have panic attacks. It's on my mind every single day since booking, but just had to take what was available. I've never cruised without a balcony because I just have to get outside, even if there is a window, or I panic. Fortunately, I'm only a couple doors away from the aft deck on 7, so I can pop out there any time we're in the room (we've spent lots of time in the room on past cruises when Tyler reaches the point where he can't take any more commotion).

Of course, this is the doc office that wouldn't even give me Tamiflu, so I doubt they'll give me Xanax. Will sure try though!

You know on the Med we had CAT 11 for the first time and we loved it. It made sleeping so nice......

Michelle - Here is another idea that might be fun....

Those who cannot join for lunch could still send a card - then you could dump the entire basket on the table at lunch - from the entire "couting fish club" . I'm game if you agree.

Anyone who wants Birthday cards for kiddos or Seniors could share that info with Linda SEAULATER for the THIEVES MINI NAVIGATOR. Then other Thieves could drop the card off at the Fish Extender or the suggested location.

That cruise was a lucky one for us, too. I started emailing with Mommaluvsdis after talking with her on the boards. We ended up linking with them and some others for dinner. They live in LA and we have become good friends, calling and emailing on a regular basis. Went to WDW and a 7 night with them in Sept/Oct of last year and are planning on going to St. Thomas with them next year. They were going to come on this cruise but things came up. We have decided we are soul sisters. There really must have been a lot of pixiedust: going around on that cruise. I am sure there will be a lot on this cruise too. :flower3:

When we were on the 11 night we changed seats almost every night since there were 11 of us and we wanted to get to know each better.

Carol

When we met you on the St. Martin snorkeling excursion I THOUGHT YOU WERE BORN SISTERS. We enjoyed chatting with you all and were sorry to discover that Mommaluvsdis was not coming on the PC cruise.

Every time I empty a suitcase for another trip, it seems I find a bag of Disney pins. I bet I have loads of them. I thought I was going to collect them, then I thought I would do some kind of shadow box frame with them, but ultimately, they just sit in bags. The only real souvenirs we have that are always out are our pictures.

We have over 2000 Disney pins :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Some are displayed, but most are in binders that I will give the kids when they are all grown up......

As you might imagine, this just kills me......this is so sad!! Daniel said that all the kids at Tech had e-mails from the President....dean of college they are in and several others. They set up a center in the student arena with councelors for students to talk to.....what a mess.

Daniel left this morning....he is bowling in Indiana this weekend. He was glad to leave......

WHERE and WHEN is Daniel bowling in Indiana?

We were both home all day with these head colds. I wonder if he is anywhere near and if I am healthy enough to go see him.

Jan :earsgirl:

I actually come home and wash my hair... they always end up putting so much crap in it and it is so stiff and stuff... & I hate the way they style it... I used to get my friend to cut and color mine and she always knew to just let me dry it myself...

I had a friend like that once. Learned from watching her how to do it myself.

OK.....here's Bobby's tentative itinerary: Headed to FL to visit Heather & family next, then after that he'd like to visit V & family! :thumbsup2 So Heather, just PM John with your address and he's happy to send you the "non-leaking" Bobby and I'll send you his suitcase (you know I have your address). Then you can send Bobby and his suitcase on to V next. [/QUO

Well I know CPR so im not afraid of the leaking one LOL

I will PM john and I pinky swear I wont let him become a frozen banana treat at disney :thumbsup2

The customs and standards were so different in our grandmother's day. My grandma was thrilled when I married!! ;) :rolleyes1

But back then...didn't they marry at 14????;)

My grandmother told me the same thing. Actually she told my cousin and she told me. I waited until I was 47 and am the only who is not divorced and won't be because I waited to find the right man. :lovestruc

My grandmother told me to live with someone first.... :rolleyes1

Good friday morning all. I have successfully pawned off my daughter on a playdate! YEAH! She had one set up, but the child called this morning and is sick. So she called another friend and has one and is sitting her telling me to get ready.

For all the weight issues, heres my story...
Up until my 20's I couldn't keep weight on. BUT my sister was a rolly poly. So while growing up my sister took the brunt of my moms dissatisfaction. In turn, she now has serious food issues. Watches every bite, went so far as to have a tummy tuck in her early 20's. When she was pregnant only gained 15 pounds. I believed that she had an undiagnosed eating disorder in her 20's but my mom gave me crap, saying she looked good and leave it alone. Thats how much my mom doesn't care about how you loose, just that your thin. Now my mother was a huge girl growing up and then when she was 18 she decided to start losing and has been on weight watchers the balance of her life. Well, back to me, in my 20's the weight started coming on. By the time I got pregnant at 28 I let it all go and ate like a happy camper and put on 65 pounds! I have struggled through my 30's to take it off. BUT during that 10 years, my mother has always made comments and just like someones gma earlier, even when I lost weight, she said the SAME THING, you can tell cause I can see your wrinkles. I rarely speak with my mom even though she lives around the corner from my work. Because the first thing out of her mouth is not Hi, or nice to see you , but either have you lost weight or you need to lose weight. Like Holly and many others, I realized I am an adult and as long as I am happy with the way I look, I should not put myself or my daughter in situations where someone else has such a signifigant impact on my self esteem. So, I go over at holidays, but when my siblings are there too...as my protective shield! I agree that as adults we should put our older family in place and say it's none of their concern and mind their business. As women(and men) we know it's hard to loose once you put it on, but WE need to do it our own way at our own pace. Since I stopped seeing my mom regularly, I have lost almost 40lbs...coincidence...I think not!

So stay strong, and if you decide to lose DO IT FOR YOU! not for anyone else.

have a great friday!

Steph

Great thoughts!!! I was paper thin until I was in my mid 20's... then it just came on and on... I have lost it several times... I just have to think about it all differently and try to convince myself that I am in fact worth the effort...

 My website won't be available until the 1st week of March.

But you could make a list... check it twice... find out who's naught or nice...

& send it in on the 2nd...

:rotfl2: :lmao: I am blessed to have a mama that is supportive of whatever I am or want to do. Had issues with my dad, but she even helps me with that. She is 82 now and I just don't know what we all will do when she starts failing and passes. She and DrHug get along famously too. In fact, I have jokingly over the years said "Hey! She's MY mom, why does she like YOU better?" :lmao: :rotfl2:
You know they do have t'shirts that say "mom likes me best" We got them for my brothers because they always used to say that... they both wore them on the same day!!!

Yes, but she should have made a better choice in the man she married!! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

But if she hadn't married him... we wouldn't have you :cutie:

Well, then that's not a good thing!!! You should really have a talk with your doctor for sure...and I see know reason given your previous experiences that he wouldn't give it to you. An if he doesn't give it to you...get another doctor! :lmao:
Can't switch docs. I don't have real insurance, just the county health plan, so it's quite limited and I'm assigned to a particular doctor, but I make it work. I'll be asking for sure though.

Jan :earsgirl:

In Indianapolis (sp?) somewhere near you. I have no idea what lanes they will be at though???

Jan :earsgirl:

We have said many times that we must have been related somewhere in another life. We became so close so fast without even meeting. When we met it was like we had known each other all our lives. The funny thing is, all my friends will tell you (including my DH) that I don't talk on the phone very long, except when I get on with Denise and then it can be hours. :rotfl2: :lmao: There is Magic :wizard: in Disney and don't let anyone tell you any different.
