I get along great with bubba's Mom. I know she likes me more.;) I am very fortunate to have a good relationship with all of Bubba's family. I'm closer to his brother then I am to my own.

I remember getting really upset with my mom and Dennis just before my 25th BD. I had the flu and was really, really sick. Dennis said he was going out with friends for awhile. We had two little girls and I told him I was just too sick to take care of them so he should do that another weekend. He called my mom and she came to stay with me and the girls so he could go out with a buddy......to have a few beers I thought! I was upset and my mom told me to let him go, after all he never went out without me and it would be nice for him to spend some time with his friends AND she was there to help with the girls! WHAT!!! I was sick and she was taking his side!  :headache: I found out later that the reason he needed to go out that particular night was to get a list of friends to invite to a surprise 25th BD party for me to our friend who was helping him it....before email and I could always hear what he was saying on the phone! Boy, did I feel silly later!! :rolleyes1

:scared1: I think the cruise planning is getting to you now!!

I promise we won't all come and invade your room, chat, leave our wineglasses, starle chees and cigat butts all over.:lmao:

THANK YOU, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

Every time I empty a suitcase for another trip, it seems I find a bag of Disney pins. I bet I have loads of them. I thought I was going to collect them, then I thought I would do some kind of shadow box frame with them, but ultimately, they just sit in bags. The only real souvenirs we have that are always out are our pictures.

On our last cruise I took a lanyard of pins that I no longer cared a lot about. There was one 11 year old girl at our dinner table. She and her mother were from Mexico, knew limited English but did their best to communicate with us. I asked her if she was going to get some pins and she said her Mother said they were too expensive. I put a lanyard over hear head and transferred my expendable pins to her lanyard. The look on her face was PRICELESS.

AHH--a new shirt design:

A collection of pins that sit in a bag $ ??
A collection of lanyards that hang on a hook $ ??
The look on a young girl's face when she is given them all--PRICELESS

Ok, I am back from the eye doctor and it is not my eye site causing my headaches. I now have to go to the ear, nose, and throat dr. and get a full check up and CAT scan. Eveything seems to be pointing towards migranes but it could be stess, or sinuses. I really don't want a CAT scan since they will have to knock me out to get it but they want to rule out something is wrong with my head. I am going to have my mom take me to my appointment hopefully next week.

On the weight issues. I have always been underweight and have a hard time gaining. I have even been in the hospital over it (I don't have an eating disorder.) My mom has always been supportive but will say I am too skinny but normally she is offering me food at the same time. Her mom though tells her that she is fat and it really hurts her feelings. My mom thinks looks are everything so this really hurts her but has also made her not be as hard on me in the past few years. Well I got a new medicine recently and it makes me hungry so I am finally eating 3 meals a day (before I could eat one and would snack but never be really hungry.) My goal is to gain around 7lbs before this cruise.

I was really hoping your headaches were just caused by vision problems and would go away with glasses. Sorry you have to have more testing, but it's best to figure it out and rule out anything serious.

pixiedust: for your to gain the weight you need!

Sorry you have to have a CAT scan. I would need sedation too so I understand.

Regarding the weight issue I do realise it can be as upsetting to be what is regarded as underweight too. We can't win can we?

I am happy to give you 7lbs before the cruise though.;)

You ALL need to go over to the trip report section ans read V's report on Saturday night!!!!:lmao:

Not got a reply from Tom McAlpin yet. Perhaps he is away on a fishing trip.;)

Jan - that is a great story....this is what Disney is to me :goodvibes

I want to order a basket for John, and like V have no idea what to have in it. I know you can have a collapsible cooler or tote bag for an adult to deliver goodies in instead of the pail!!!

Shirley was supposed to be finding ideas for our last cruise but never got back to me. We were communicating by email and I think it doesn't work as well for her. Ended up with the DCL bon voyage banner etc.

If you come up with any ideas please share.

Up to press I think a Grumpy tee, couple of cans(or bottles) of cider, gummy sweets, underwater disposable camera. That's it, can't think of anything else!!:confused3

I made my own surprise bags for DH and our adult kids when we cruised in 2006. I used small gift bags, had a bag of pirate M&Ms, water bottle in a thermal holder to take on excursions and refill daily, underwater cameras.... I forget what else.

I am glad I did not pay big money for a surprise package. No one ate the M&Ms as there was so much food on the boat and we all were watching our food choices. The water was forgotten on the ship when we went on excursions, but water was available there. Water bottles had to be thrown out as we boarded our planes--never opened. Months later I found unopened M&Ms, and the thermal bags in the boys' bedrooms.:rotfl: I used one of the underwater cameras on our 2007 trips and the other two were used by the newly weds on their 2007 honeymoon.

Not a good plan for my crew.

That's why we stopped buying souvenirs. We buy an ornament for our Christmas tree from the places we visit. Every year it is so fun to decorate the tree and reminisce about our trips.

We do the same thing! I love decorating the tree each year and remembering all of our fond vacation memories :)

Ok leaving for the eye doctor, hopefully they can figure out what is wrong with me. I have been having terrible headaches and blurred vision.

I hope they can figure out what's going wrong :(

Not much to report here- working my tail off as usual!!

I would do my own if I was over there I think, though of course it wouldn't be waiting in the SR for us.

We had the cake with the Bon Voyage set, so we had a slice each that day, but I had to force some down at the end of the cruise just so I didn't feel that I was wasting it!!(However I did 'waist' it!:lmao: )

I thought about getting the Happy Birthday one for me as John would never think about it even if he knew it could be done, but that cake is such a waste.

I think sending your own is a good idea, tho I understand why it won't work for Marilyn.

She is a very nice lady and very helpful but we ordered from Shirley two cruises ago and honestly thought it was a lot of money for what we got. Last time we just drove by CVS and got sand toys the night before (and then I think forgot to take them off on the shore days) that was the cruise that had to skip CC. It was also halloween, so any extra candy was overkill.

I just edited my post that you quoted to add info about underwater cameras.
I had the bags packed in my stuff and managed to get them on everyone's beds in two cabins when no one was looking. I have a tiny Scotish ancestry, some British and the rest German and somone has told me that "we" are thrifty people. So, that's my excuse.

I make my own signs to decorate in the stateroom. DH knows he has to sit and relax while I string up some mini lights, tape signs to the mirror, pose the critter who is traveling with us, etc. Then, and only then, are we UNPACKED.

You could buy a :bday: banner at home, pack it and string it up yourself. If he asks why, tell him it is an economy move. Men often appreciate that aspect of things.
