I can't wait to catch up and see what everyone got. I hope it got better -

It has been a crazy day and I just had to post it. We we stayed at this Westin hotel with a few connecting rooms for my son's 10th birthday. It has an indoor pool. We had planned this for awhile. He invited 4 of his friends, and then my other sons - total of 8 boys. So this morning was as anyone would expect - crazy. 8 boys running around the rooms, playing Wii, fighting about computers, etc. Anyway, the hotel is next to the airport and my flight was at 10:48am (to go to my grandmother's service in MSP). Around 9:15, I started to gather my stuff and it was just insane trying to get out of the hotel rooms. But I got downstairs by 9:45 to get the 5 minute shuttle to the airport (it just so happened that the hotel we picked for the birthday party was a SFO hotel). I go downstairs, shuttle is late. Shuttle drives up, someone in front of them has car problems. ARGG. I get in the shuttle at 10am and arrive at 10:15 - 30 minutes to get to my gate. I get my ticket (have only carry-on luggage) and for the first time IN HISTORY misread my ticket. I see 34 - think it means gate 34. I go through 2 terminals (never really stopping to wonder why) and get to terminal 1 only be told 34 is my SEAT number and I need to go to terminal 3. I take the tram, cut through security, run to my gate - all in the matter of 20 minutes. Get to my gate exactly 10:38. And see my gate close. THEY WOULD NOT OPEN IT!! I thought I was going to lose it. I go to customer service, UNITED is all booked up for the rest of the day, have to get on a red-eye, I call my sister who is ms. travel guru and she has an American flight to go to MSP. She gets me on that flight for a beverevement fare, I'm sitting in her lounge, having a beer, and just about leave my gate. What a morning!

But I'm still so excited about our cruise. I got a Palo's dinner - later than I want, but still on the day I want. And a couple villa spa treatment. And signed up DH and the boys for the dolphin swim. I think we won't do much more. We will be doing this cruise with as little extra expenses as possible - (which means we will probably not do the spa thing, but still want to have it "just in case"). I don't care if we don't do a lot of $$ activities. I'm just still so happy to be going. So now, as I seat here sweating and red faced from running from one terminal to the other, waiting to go to a very, very sad service, I can actually smile. It will be tough. My grandmother was very well loved. I'm sure the whole town - I mean literally the whole town - will be there. It is nice to have this.

I'll try to touch base in the hotel tonight to find out what all is going on.

Lisa

Lisa, how stressful for you. Take care.Hope things go well.

So why are secret porthole rooms so open?

The secret porthole rooms have the porthole partially blocked by the lifeboats and there are metal grates under the boats and the workers will be on there occasionally doing whatever it is they do to keep the lifeboats safe and secure for us. This is the fellows in the yellow jumpsuits. The rooms are sold as CAT 10 inside staterooms, so you get a porthole at an inside price, but with a partially blocked view.

With Noel worryingly missing is there any other way I can cancel our group Palo dinner reservations as since we can't have more than one we have decided to book as a couple?

As they haven't paid in full what happens to their reservation? Does it mean they lose it, or have they longer to PIF?

:dance3: Ok here is what we finally got:

Cabo: Canyon Canopy @9:30
Aruba: Sea & See Island @8
Castaway Cay: Double Jet SKi Eco Tour @9:45
Aca: Highlights, Shopping, and Divers @12
P.V.: Sea Lions at 11 (not DCL)

Palo on the 15th at 9 (later than I wanted)
No brunch

and
DH booked a Hot Stone Massage for me!!!!

Not too bad but it took forever.

Marilyn, I have an older copy of the palo spread sheet. I have cleared you from Dinner, but have left you on for brunch, correct?

I am not organizing but just have a copy of the excel sheet so can remove people and will send the list on when the time comes to finalized the ressie for Palo private bookings.

Thanks for all the laughs today. I didn't respond individually, but you guys sure are funny today. It helps deal with all the stress.

I'm wondering about the Regatta in Cabo. It's the only thing that DH wants to do, but it isn't available. I didn't see that anyone here booked it. I wonder if it's not really available (like the pirate ship). I know I could book it independently, but I'm nervous after reading all the warnings about not making port. I never even thought about that. The Regatta costs $125 per person, so I wouldn't want to lose my money. I'll look into it with the company.

Ah thanks pj!! Yes I though sharing brunch would still be nice if we got that, but after sharing every evening meal, one just the 2 of us at Palo's would be nice, just for a change.

Admin contact for Disney Cruise Line website!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After 5 plus hours on the website Sat night/ Sun morning (like everybody else) then waking and finding ALL of our ressies MISSING (like everybody else), I call the 1-800 number (like everybody else) and get nothing to tell my crying wife.

A little digging, a "who-is" search (all fueled by frustration) uncovered this little chestnut:

Administrative Contact :
Wall, Loretta
Loretta_Wall@CORP.DISNEY.COM
PO Box 10,165
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-0165
US
Phone: (407) 566-3733
Fax: (407) 566-3595

I bet a few hundred E-mails, phone calls and FAXES to this woman would let The Company know just how poor the performance really is on their website....

Make sure you make note of the nearly 80 years of innovation and technical progress and how this is very incongruant with a company who's vast world wide holdings where built on delivering "warm fuzzies", not frustration. Pretty pictures would gladly be traded for a white screen with black Helvatica text with reservation making options that actually work.

Thanks,

Chris

So, I added my spa today.

Does anyone think, if you are taking the bus from WDW, will I make a 4:30pm spa on the first day?

I couldn't add any more palos. It says it's all booked up. In fact it's very weird. It says ressies available, select your party and then it comes up for each day, no ressies available. Very strange!

A couple of thoughts on a 4:30 spa first day.

1. After yu finish you have to right to the safety drill.....may ruin your wonderful sap feeling.

2. First day they always have great deals as you board to try and pull people in that first day.

Aye, I know everybody was stress but glad it is over now.

I have not heard about Regatta in Cabo, sorry. I know you don't want to lose your money. Hopeful you get it soon. Yes, I got very frustrated about pirate ship too. I feel sorry for my son as he is looking forward to and we don't know if we tell him or keep quiet because he is very sentive boy!! But we booked the paradise in PV so there is swimming pool etc we know our kids will love it anyway.
