Well, my friends. Signing off for some sleep. We have the realtor coming at 10:30 in the morning to re-think this stuff! I will need to be up in time to put the dishes away, run a swiffer over the floor and give the bathrooms a lick and a promise.

I just finished loading the dishwasher myself. I have to do everything at night as getting out of bed is the hardest thing I do every day!

Tomorrow is Darrell's birthday. We are going to the zoo at 8am to see the new Grizzly cubs they have. Not sure what else we'll do tomorrow. Probably eat out somewhere.

Well night all!

(I've been able to successfully retrieve my reservation once - will try again tomorrow.)

Oh, man! Ever wish you could hire a size model to go shopping for you so you didn't have to try on all those clothes that don't fit right to find the one that does? She could only bring home the ones that actually fit and you could try those on to see which ones you like!

Sounds like a great idea.

We saw 27 dresses today and it the bridesmaid is going for a fitting of the wedding as she and the bride are the exact same size.

If only the double would pay for the clothes too!

It's 2/10 at midnight for east coast, 9pm on 2/9 for west coast.
fill in the middle for what ever coast you are!

Okay, thanks that helps. My only problem is that my CC number they sent me isn't working and its driving me NUTS! I'm so hoping that it registers! DCL opens tomorrow at 9am PST which is 6am here so I'm hoping to get it fixed so I can jump into the ressie race with the rest of you!:scared:

Oh my! I just read through 11 pages.

I had gone to bed at around 11:30, and less than an hour later my goddaughter who is staying with us tonight, woke up crying, so she is watching high5 and playing with dd´s little people stuff. She is less than 2 years old and doesn´t really know us. I just hope she will be dead tired soon so we can go to sleep :scared:

Definetly after this night there is no way I will stay awake past 8 pm on saturday night to book anything.

Thanks - I can't catch up. Busy at work, and trying to wrap things up to fly out for the service.

DH and I had a long "discussion" and I usually win discussions (isn't that how it is suppose to work??) but this one sadly I didn't. He feels now strongly that leaving and spending the money for the cruise is not a good for us as a family. I totally am bummed, and am trying to deal with it. I will manage the fish teams as that will be so much fun, and I hope to see many pictures. But I am calling Disney to cancel. :sad1: I will miss meeting you all, although I'm certain many of us will meet on future cruises. I will still stay on the boards if you all don't mind and live my vacation through you guys!!! And you all be sure to have a DOD for me on May 16, the Panama Canal day!!
Lisa

Lisa,
I will send prayers for your grandma and also for you and your family. I'm sorry I won't get to meet you on this trip but hopefully will someday. I affirm you for doing what's right for the family, even though it's disappointing.
Hugs to you!

Talk about an emotional rollacoster,
DH just said we should just go.

I don't know....I have to get on-line later as all 4 boys are in the room and I just snuck on to post this... I think I might need Prozac!
Lisa

Uh oh, I'm lost! Welcome back? (this is what happens when you get 50 pages behind and then just skip around to catch up!)

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself as I just signed up to this board.
This will be the third time that my sons and I have sailed on the magic. First was on the last west coast visit, then the Eastbound TA, and now we are looking forward to the Westbound PC trip. I just put down the final payment yesterday so I am now starting to plan the trip for real! What will make this trip much more memorable will be that my sons and I will be doing it without any other family members on board this time and without a girlfriend in tow. I paid for the GF's TA trip and when she got back, she said she could not take living with my sons anymore and split. (her loss) I guess I will just have to explore the "singles" lunches this time on board. Both my sons are moderate to severely developmentally delayed and have autism. Those on the EB TA may remember them as the two biggest kids (now 23 & 21) in the Oceaneer Lab running around with the 12year olds and having a blast. With luck the captain will allow them to join the other kids again and I can have some time to relax too. If not, then we will be doing a lot of walking while at sea. If anyone hears that they are dropping the "3rd in the room" price like they did on the TA, please let me know.

Look forward to meeting everyone, hopefully before the sailing date, but if not then on board.

Steve

Nooooooo, I'm so sorry, and so gutted for you. We're all going to miss meeting you.

Marilyn - if I send you cash would you be willing to bring me some FRUITGUMS? real ones???! I will send xxxxtra!

I will bring you some fruit gums with pleasure, no cash necessary.(Unless you want a whole shop load!!):lmao:

And now the candy smuggling begins, lol. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pj
:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Do more people like milk chocolate than dark chocolate? And would that be true for people from outside the US?

I prefer dark but Darrell prefers milk. And I was assuming dark from See's for gifts. But maybe not - do they have mixed assortments?

I think milk is a safer option for strangers, but I love any chocolate!!:lmao:

I've convinced myself that dark is a health food!! (Probably not in the quantity I consume though...)

Oh, it is definatly a health food, together with a glass of red wine!:thumbsup2

I'm catching up here so it is an on going roller coaster!!! I hope this is what is happening - I wait and see.

Isn't it amazing how different candies are in other countries? I used to go to Canada all the time to get the coffee crunch?(can'teven remember the name) and when I lived in England there was another one I was addicted to. Scott loves the wine gummies that they sell in Canada, I wonder if they are similar.

We do have Wine Gums which are slightly softer than the Fruit Gums. They don't tase of any wine however!!!

Hey... not sure if this was posted yet... but Shirley just put this on the info thead about Thrifty rentals....

EVERYONE BE AWARE:
Thrifty Car rental is now charging a drop off fee of $25.00 for folks that pick up transportation in Orlando and drop off here.
I spoke to Stephanie Bailey one of the GM's and told her that it appears that Thrifty doesn't realize the impact that this will make on their business and I would be posting there new "charges" so be aware of this extra charge.
Always
Shirley

I hope the opther don't follow suit as we are planning a 1 day Budget car rental from WDW to the port.

My thing is Kit Kats. I really really like Kit Kats. Over here we have plain and boring ones. We do get the cherry ones during the holidays and they did coffee as a limited one but everywhere else has tons of flavors. I love Banana and the green tea flavors, melon is another I like  I have to order them from online and sometimes I look on eBay to see them.

Your Kit Kats are not like ours it seems.

We are croc converts here. DrHug thought they looked just ridiculous and said he would never wear them. I bought him a pair of cheap knock offs and he started wearing them around the house for slippers. He loved them and started wearing them to work. He stands up to 12 hours in the pharmacy with no breaks, no sitting down and his back and feet used to hurt him terribly after a couple of long days. I bought him a pair of croc a few months ago to replace the knock offs and I don't think he will ever wear anything else! He does still wear dress shoes with his suit, of course, but other than that he is in his crocs. He is pretty conservative though and only does black! :lmao:

Crocs are wonderful! I don't wear mine out apart from around the resort over there on vacation, but after com ing home with sore aching feet it is like walking on air when you put your crocs on.

Looks like we are leaning towards POFQ. My aunt wants to get a flavour of New Orleans, so this looks to be the ticket. The boat ride to DTD might be nice after sitting on the plane on all day too.

We had thought about ditching the DCL transfer and renting a car but I found it was just so much easier using them last time, plus the girls really like taking the Disney bus with the Disney video on it. There is something about putting on our bags on the plane in Vancouver and not having to see them until we get to our hotel room, and then having someone pick them up to take to the cruise ship right from our hotel room and once again not worrying about them until we get off the ship.

Are there any negatives to staying at POFQ? What about bus ride times to the parks? Line ups to get on a bus? I noted there is only 1 bus stop at POFQ, does the bus service there as well as POR or does each "Port Orleans" resort get it's own bus "system"?

POFQ is lovely!!:thumbsup2 The buses usually have the first stop at POFQ then go around POR to their 4 stops. Can be annoying but at least you have a seat! On the way back they stop at POFQ first. Usually it all works very well but I have been annoyed occasionally with some seemingly silly situations!

We're going on the WB Repo cruise and I just found my way here. It all looks like fun, but there's so much jargon and so many "inside jokes" here that I don't know where to start!

From what I can see most of this forum is about meets that are planned for the cruise, and although we'd love to meet all of you, I'm also looking for advice/tips/etc. Is there another forum for questions/ information about the cruise itself, or is this a one stop shop?

Failing that, is there a place I should start to try to "catch up" with all that's going on?

Thanks!

~Tracy
Welcome. Just me and husband John both 60 at time of cruise.

Trying to figure out why I can't consistently retrieve my dcl reservation.

I have deleted cookies, reinstalled java, closed and reopend browser (IE) but am having no luck. I was able to access it with no issues until about 1 month ago. AAAAHHHH!

I will figure this out.

Ah, another one. I will be annoyed if I get up for 5am tomorrow and can't make our reservations. Particularly as someone said some of the concierge folk are going to be trying again for reservations they didn't get at 105 days.:sad2:

Welcome.

Can I ask for a special prayer tonight?

Some of you might remember I went to Minnesota to visit my Grandmother back in December...she broke her hip. She was 98, and had never spent the night in the hospital other than having babies. My sister and I visited (that's when I bought my purse at the mall of america).

Anyway, my parents emailed two days ago that she took a turn for the worse with her recovery. My parents were in Aruba. They got a flight home to SFO, landed last night around 10pm. This morning at 3:30am they went to he airport to fly to MSP - my grandmother's home is about 2 hours away. As soon as they landed, they got a call from my Uncle that she passed away.

Her name is Adeline Flaig and she truly was a beautiful and wonderful woman. She had 7 kids, 32 grandchildren, and I can't keep up with how many great-grandchildren...maybe 50.

She lost her husband 10 years ago, and a few weeks (Jan. 98). She was very sad for a year after, but then came out of it and made a couple trips across the country to visit our family. I have great memories of my kids riding the cable car with her.

So I'm a little sad, and would love the thought of prayers for her welcome home.

Thanks.
Lisa

  and prayers for you and all your family, and most especially your dear grandmother

Hello all!!

I am just catching up with everything from the past few days. I sure hope everyone is able to work out the details and we all can celebrate PIF tomorrow.

I have never tried the CROCs so I don't see what the fuss is all about. Am I really missing out here guys?? I think they look kinda weird

I am trying to think of a special gift to bring to our favorite servers and cruise staff. So far ... nothing!! What comes to mind when you guys think of SoCal?

:tinker: Karen

Lets see I used to live in SoCal and I think of the beach, surf, sunshine, flip flops, In N out . Others will think of Hollywood, movie stars and celebs.

I wonder if its a tie in with the "Enchanted" movie - you know since they had the big ballroom dance at the end???

We are not sure. This is something new they are adding for this cruise. It is on a formal night though so we have fantasized about dancing under a moonlit sky on deck with twinkling lights all around. :lovestruc But we will have to wait to really know.;)

So what is Ballroom Under the Stars?

Well my thoughts are Disney owns Abc that has Dancing with the stars. Maybe for the cruise this is dancing under the stars??? Such as they have the Pirates in the Caribbean Party. Disney is big on cross promotion. Maybe this is another example of that.

Hello and Welcome! :flower3: We are friendly and talk a whole lot but jump right in. That's what I did and now I am hooked. From your post I can say glad the GF left! If she felt that way it is a blessing that she left. Your kids deserve to be surrounded by people who love them and you sound like a great Disney Dad. There are a few Dis meets planned for SoCal so you might be able to meet others in the next few months before the cruise.

I had my sons room painted today so I have been busy putting his furniture back in and some of his toys. Have to finish tomorrow and finally decide for sure what excursions I want to book. Will be nice to get that out of the way. Yet here I am 3am and awake!

I'm quite stressed about the reservatons tonight. Not sure I will sleep much - have to get up for 5am!!!

In the end really I think the excursions don't matter if they are full and Palo dinner shouldn't be too much of a problem with 15 nights - I could give that a miss anyway.

I just want to experience Palo brunch and high tea as we weren't able to do these on our last cruise and I think this will be our only chance!:sad2:
