Marilyn - if I send you cash would you be willing to bring me some FRUITGUMS? real ones???! I will send xxxxtra!

Thanks - I can't catch up. Busy at work, and trying to wrap things up to fly out for the service.

DH and I had a long "discussion" and I usually win discussions (isn't that how it is suppose to work??) but this one sadly I didn't. He feels now strongly that leaving and spending the money for the cruise is not a good for us as a family. I totally am bummed, and am trying to deal with it. I will manage the fish teams as that will be so much fun, and I hope to see many pictures. But I am calling Disney to cancel. :sad1: I will miss meeting you all, although I'm certain many of us will meet on future cruises. I will still stay on the boards if you all don't mind and live my vacation through you guys!!! And you all be sure to have a DOD for me on May 16, the Panama Canal day!!
Lisa

I am really sorry to hear this  If this is what your family needs right now however I am glad you are strong enough to make the right choice. I am sure we will see you on a future cruise. Did you guys discuss when you might want to cruise again?

I am planning on taking GooGoo's to give out - not just for my immediate people but also for others that I come in contact with just as a "thank you".

I was inspired by a post on the main boards about the couple who took little bottles of Maple syrup to the parks and handed them out to CM's everywhere in the park including a restroom attendant who said it was the first time she had been given something like that. It was a very touching story.

I selected GooGoo's because they are made in Tennessee - I know you can get them other places especially now that Cracker Barrel's are common around but I hope they will still think it is a nice treat.

What I plan on doing for my "tipped" positions will be to write a progressive letter/card to each one each night thanking them for the services provided for that day and specifically pointing out the things we appreciated most. I will then give it to them on the last day with their tips. We always tip a little more than specified but not sure how much more till we are on board.

I think that is a great idea to bring something from where you are from. That is why I am bringing Jelly Bellys since I live where they are made. The note sounds like a great idea and really a nice way to show how you notice all the little extras they do for you.

They would love the See's chocolates. They do NOT eat like we do and enjoy edible treats. We have gave our room steward about a half bottle of wine that we did not finish and she LOVED it. It was some we made that had a bit higher alcohol content though and she was not feeling quite up to par the next day. :lmao: She did not share it with her friends! :rotfl:

Great to know - I think that's what we're going to bring.

Way back I worked for See's during the holiday seasons - Christmas, Valentines, Easter, Mothers Day - part time after my regular job. I did not make much money, but bought lots of boxes for gifts! I also had GREAT benefits there..... all I could eat while at work! We could not take any home without paying for it, but could nibble all day for free! Yummer!! I have to admit that I finished off an entire 5 lb box one Saturday. Of course, that is all I had for breakfast, lunch, dinner and breaks. :sad2: Love it, love it!!

That would be a dangerous place for me to work!

I'm sure it would be considered one of the basic food groups, not a liquid. :goodvibes

It is the basic food group in my world!

We did also...that's funny! I ate from the 6 grams and under menu...DH, of course, did not!

I started there - but then I added swiss :thumbsup2

Just can't have a hoagie without cheese.

Gina, you won't need to put them in for online booking. Since you are confirmed as CC members then your reservation will open to allow booking at midnight Sunday, 15 hours from now, lol.

That CC club online is just to get access to that section of the website, nothing to do with on-line booking, don't worry.

Just in case you are taking notes: my favorites are Summertime and Bordeaux (milk chocolate, of course)

:worship: :worship:

Do more people like milk chocolate than dark chocolate? And would that be true for people from outside the US?

I prefer dark but Darrell prefers milk. And I was assuming dark from See's for gifts. But maybe not - do they have mixed assortments?

I have switched camps to dark chocolate over the last couple of years.

Lisa - I am so sorry to hear this but understand it's what your family needs to do now.

Keep posting and maybe we will meet on another cruise (or at DL sometime).

Take care,
Lisa

Hi guys . . .

It has been a busy couple of days, and I have not had time to even stop by to read. Therefore I am 50 pages behind as I get on here tonight.

Amy is right now flying somewhere over the Pacific on her way to Tokyo, and then on to the Philippines. She arrives at 11:00 am our time, 11:00 pm their time.

I took her to the airport today thinking I would take the day off - no go. Way too behind at the office. I am trying to take next week off, but we will see how that goes.

I wasted a lot of time yesterday because they got me a new phone - a Blackberry, so I was busy converting from my Treo on top of everything else. Now I have email and the web on my phone, but this Blackberry is darn tough to type on! (Pearl). The web is nowhere near as good as on the iPhones I have seen. I tried getting on the DIS with it, and it is almost illegible.

I will do my best to just read and not make stale comments.

And now the candy smuggling begins, lol. :rotfl: :rotfl:

Pj

I as introduced to these when I was in South Africa with my Grandparents...I came home with a few cases, they did not last long....while I do not like chocolate, I love sweets! and I fell in love with fruit gums...these were circular in a sleeve.....EPCOT has had a ban on them forever (they had a ban on Smarties for a long time when I was younger)....and they finally got them in but they were in a box and fruit shaped....which hey, they tasted the same and were devoured before I left the pavilion.

HELLO AMY ---- ! I know you guys were busy last night.....I missed saying goodbye!
Stay safe and come home soon!

Popped back over here V . . . in the rush to get to the airport, she said she forgot to call you last night, and had told you she would. She was also supposed to call me when she got to Detroit to transfer planes - no phone call.

We are awaiting a phone call tomorrow when she gets to the Philippines.

I have three pages of instructions!

When my boss found out I was taking a few days off, he was not happy today. He has been a real bear lately. While I have a lot of things on my plate, that is the norm, and there is no help on the horizon.

I know he has forgotten about this trip. Wait until he realizes I will be gone for 18 days myself. . . I may come back to the employment classifieds . . .

They do have an assortment. It is dark, milk, soft centers, and nuts & chews. Or you can get the soft centers which is both D&M or N&C's which is both D&M. I am a dark person now, like Pj says, I switched camps a few years ago too.

Lisa,

I am so sorry! I was really looking forward to meeting you! You are such a lovely person. I understand that you need to do what is best for your family, but you will be greatly missed!
