Lisa:hug: so sorry to hear of your loss. for you and your family during this time.

 I'll keep your family in my thoughts. I hope to still be traveling in my 90's - she sounds like a remarkable woman.

Thank you...

I'm going crazy looking at these pricing...$1100 to go to Minnesota. Wow. I call about the bereavement (sp?) leave and they are only available on certain flights. It is my son's 10th birthday party this week-end, so I can't leave until 10am on Sunday (he is having a sleep-over).

Also, my last words from DH before falling asleep was "I just don't know if we should do this cruise."

Argg...I think he is concerned because his clients have been quiet lately. Very frustrating, but as I have said - I wouldn't want to go if he would be stressed. I really think he wouldn't be though, this is just a slow time for a lot of businesses....
Lisa

Further to my last, reference DH. The other night I tentatively showed him the stuff on Cafe Press, thinking he'd just shake his head and walk away.

But he was intrigued, especially when I showed him the baseball caps (he sort of collects them - well, in as much as he has far more than he has heads). Then he said he quite liked the green t-shirt.

We're getting to him people, slowly but surely! He will be assimilated.

Resistance is Futile!!!

Hi! The doctor also fitted me for orthotics but they don't fit in all my shoes, which is a real bummer. So, I've been wearing them a lot, my feet do feel better and I figure I'll wear them as often as I can. The other thing is at home I used to walk barefoot which is a big no-no if you have PF, so I've been wearing shoes at home, which has helped greatly. Maybe I'll just have to invest is lots of different pairs of crocs!!! HAHA.

I have to wear shoes with orthotics pretty much all of the time, or it just gets too difficult to walk. I wear "pretty shoes", but not too high, when I am out to dinner, as long as I don't have to walk too far or stand too long.

I've had to wear them for over 10 years now.

When I first encountered all of the PF issues, my podiatrist had me "ice" my feet in the evenings. If you get a bag of frozen peas, it really works well.

Merrill shoes fit my orthotics as do some eccos. Still looking for "pretty" shoes that they will fit into!

HTH

Karen

Hi Karen-I did just order a few pairs of Eccos (boy are they expensive). I read that they work well with custom orthotics. I'll look into Merrill shoes also. It's just a bummer, I have tons of shoes and my favorites are Clarks cuz I slip right into them...fits with my "busy" lifestyle...running to pick up one boy here or drop off there. Oh well, I'll just have to adapt! So now that you've worn orthotics for 10 years, I'm assuming you've seen a difference (for the better, I hope)?

Lisa-I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your grandmother, I know how difficult it is.

From reading, I've noticed it's been a tough week for a lot of you and I'm just hoping all gets better soon! :grouphug:

Jill called DU before, but they told us they could not get them for us unless we had a land portion of the vacation booked with them.

Disney's website doesn't have them available for purchase yet. One more thing to check every day! :surfweb:

Can you phone the disney number?

A friend of mine is losing her battle with cancer. She has been in NIH studies (one of the benefits to living here is DC) and was told 4 years ago she had 3-6 months to live. The treatment she has been having has just now started to fail and they have found cancer in her brian, liver and several other spots.

She wrote this long e-mail to explain what she has been though in the last 4 weeks and this one paragraph just killed me and I started to cry. I wanted to share it with you.

When I asked them for a long-term prognosis, I was given the 3-6 month speech. Although we kind of expected that, it is always a blow to hear it, as you can well imagine! Although I am so very confident about where I am going after death, going thru the process will be difficult and saying good bye the hardest thing I can think of. I have asked God to keep me strong and focused on Him and so many of you are helping me do just that. Thank you so much for your calls, cards and emails.

How heartbreaking.:sad1: Will be praying for strength for her, her family and friends like you, to cope with this.

Just home from work. Still on page 17 Checking e-mail. A friend sent a link to this site. AMAZING

There is a link there to Patrick's own webpage.

Jan :earsgirl:

I was already in tears after Lisa's post about her friend. Now I'm worse. How inspirationsl - what a fantastic young man and family.

Wow! Now THAT made me cry! Truly amazing!

Me too.

Thanks Monica, I'm really going to get aggressive now......cutting back more calories and adding more exercises. I'm going to get more weight off and into those dresses, I don't care what it takes. I will win! Can you tell that with all my DIS family encouragement, I've become very determined now. Thanks for your great inspiration.

Go for it Deb.:thumbsup2

ok, I hate my hair. I don't know what I was thinking, I had it layered and she cut off a lot. It was all one length and almost to my waist...it is now barely below my shoulders. My hair takes a long time to grow.....:( I am going to go back and cry now.

I can only think you will look just beautiful V, though I know how upsetting it can be.

Frosted animal cookies and gum drops for me today!:rolleyes1

We are gummy friends.

9 pm Saturday:surfweb:

You lucky westcoasters!

Does anyone know if the Vista Spa has that egg-looking capsule that is supposed to make you feel like you've slept 8hrs while you've only been there for 20min? (I saw Samantha Brown do it on her Med cruise (RCCL) special on the Travel Channel).

I want one of those every day.

Vanessa, You are a true beauty. If you were bald you would still be beautiful. I am sure you look just stunning.

I so agree.

Oh no, maybe leave few days that you will be feeling better as I am having a hair cut today not sure what I want!!

I forgot to mention that they won't let me pass it along to someone else - I said I had someone in my party, but she said they had a long list....hopefully a DIS is on it!
Lisa

Lisa, I am confuse now so you have Cat 1 and now you are not sure about it and you booked two Cat 9. As I am surprise that Cat 1 to 3 have a long waitlist!!

Can I ask for a special prayer tonight?

Some of you might remember I went to Minnesota to visit my Grandmother back in December...she broke her hip. She was 98, and had never spent the night in the hospital other than having babies. My sister and I visited (that's when I bought my purse at the mall of america).

Anyway, my parents emailed two days ago that she took a turn for the worse with her recovery. My parents were in Aruba. They got a flight home to SFO, landed last night around 10pm. This morning at 3:30am they went to he airport to fly to MSP - my grandmother's home is about 2 hours away. As soon as they landed, they got a call from my Uncle that she passed away.

Her name is Adeline Flaig and she truly was a beautiful and wonderful woman. She had 7 kids, 32 grandchildren, and I can't keep up with how many great-grandchildren...maybe 50.

She lost her husband 10 years ago, and a few weeks (Jan. 98). She was very sad for a year after, but then came out of it and made a couple trips across the country to visit our family. I have great memories of my kids riding the cable car with her.

So I'm a little sad, and would love the thought of prayers for her welcome home.

Thanks.
Lisa

Lisa, when I read it, I feel sad and I am sorry to heard the sad news as I lost my dear granny three years ago in Feb. She was 94 years old.

Thanks for the offer. Now we have planned to stay at the Hyatt Thursday night - get into MCO around 11pm. then Friday pick-up the rental car and drive to the Radisson at the Port then dinner at Grills.

We will be there at Grills so will meet you all.:thumbsup2

Granmaz

Good Morning, where are you??:lmao:

I think I found a winner on airfare! We'll fly out of Lansing on Delta and get in to MCO at 11:09. That's the earliest it looks like we can get in and still fly out of Lansing. The cheaper prices flying out of Detroit aren't really cheaper when you factor in $135 for parking for all those days. So even though there are no nonstop flights from Lansing available, we're saving money and it's more convenient, so I'm happy now! :cool1:

Are you flying Friday or Saturday?

I was tryong to go to sleep and Daniel AIMed me to tell me he qualified to bowl in a National Qualifier......which is in DC this weekend!! Yea!! I think he is coming home tomorrow!!:goodvibes :goodvibes

Woohoo:woohoo:

I'm so sorry.
We will be in lime green at the terminal.

Well we will spot you then!!:thumbsup2

Don't forget the Dis meets for the 9th...there's one at the Hyatt too, huh???

Oh yes we're booked for the DTD meet.

Nan, I must have missed the post about your friend. How very sad.

It seems so many sad happenings at the moment. Cancer is a horrid disease.

Well I sent off an email to DCL about the problems accessing reservations and the worry about Sat night. They came back quickly but had just thought I was a numpty and explained how to access my reservation(hello, I've been going on every day to check my lifeboat status!!:) )

So I replied again and soon received a more helpful reply - I think. Give them credit they acted quickly.

Here is a copy. I need a man!!:confused3

:headache: :rotfl:

This is like a recent exchange of e-mails I had with Disney about their UK website. I booked our pre-cruise stay online, paid a deposit. A few weeks ago I thought I may as well pay the balance. The payment link on the confirmation e-mail goes to a webpage that doesn't exist. So, I go to the website, click on 'Existing Reservations', which takes me to a page that says, sorry, you can't access your reservation online at the moment. Well, it said that for well over a week!

But when I e-mailed Disney they refused to even consider there may be a problem with the website. They just kept making various suggestions about deleting cookies, refreshing the site etc. Finally, a couple of days ago, I did manage to access my reservation online. Went to pay, but can't - it keeps coming up with error messages, usually saying that I haven't entered my credit card number when I have. I've tried several different credit cards and on several occasions, but no joy. So I still think it's a problem with the website.

But again, Disney won't accept that. They can't explain why I can't pay online but infer it must be my fault. And all they can suggest is that I phone them to pay the balance. Which I will do eventually, but not until the due date. Meantime I'll keep checking in case it finally dawns on them there is a problem and they fix it.

By the way, I also have a reservation made through the US website and have no problems accessing that one. It's just the UK website that is playing up.

Then we fly home from LAX but can't get a flight until 4:30p. So, our goal is to be the LAST FAMILY OFF OF THAT BOAT!

Our flight from LAX isn't until 6.00pm, so we'll be right there with you until they have to forcibly remove us all. :rotfl:

Hi Lisa (Disneylover5)

I am so sorry to heard the sad news and your friend must be brave to wrote it.

If I used this, would it mean I could actually stay awake after dinner occasionally?

I'm not sure what seems to have turn on the wind with us in the thread lately as I too have a childhood friend that has found out that she has masses on her colon, liver and lungs. Non operable, she had an IV port placed on 1/31 for chemo. This is my first "peer" that has been hit with this and to me it seems unreal. She lives in TX and is a single mom (but her ex is invovled and loving) Donna is her name. I also ask for prayers for her. She just entered this situtation less than 2 weeks ago.

:grouphug:

I need help deciding how much obc I need to rack up in the next few months. I have the tips, and transportation prepaid so don't need to count those. I know I want to do some spa treatments, excursions in every port (except for Aruba which will be paid seperately), have some wine (and other drinks), Palo for tea, brunch, and dinner, and of course there is Shutters and souveniers. Any one have any ideas of what I should put up?????

A lot. :lmao:
