I'm in. But darn it the last 2 stores I looked for them I couldn't find them...not at walmart or today at walgreens. I must go on a mission for smarties trip soon.

Have faith girls... the Easter candy comes out next friday!!!

I love the get ready time in the morning...roll outta bed, walk to the kitchen for coffee then outside to the office for work hmmm 45 seconds, okay maybe 1 minute

Oh mine's next to my bedroom... I usually have to trip over the wash I left in the middle of the floor to be brought downstairs and then I hit my desk... sometimes literally...

V... don't worry about your hair... You're beautiful!!!! :hippie:

 For sure! Grandmothers are the best! What a blessing that she got to come out and spend time with your children. Good memories to hold onto.:grouphug:

It sounds like she lived a very full and happy long life. There are bounds to be little glimmers of her personality in each of her many children and grandchildren so while she may be gone in body her spirit is still with you always.

I hope your family can look back on her life with joy and remembrance to get through this difficult time.

 You know each and every one of us is sending you a huge virtual hug right now. We may not be beside you but we are there with you. :grouphug:
Thank you...

darn school, it's in the way of my dland vaca plans. :lmao: never tried priceline might do that next time just to see what we can get. We've been staying at the Sheraton the last couple times. Dland hotels have gotten pricey. I remember the good old $69 rates.

I only bid on three stars which is the highest for that area. For some reason I only get the Crown Plaza LOL. Last time I used priceline was during Thanksgiving and my parents and brother went as well. I got two rooms at the Crown Plaza for 42 bucks each during that time. I was shocked I could get Thanksgiving for so cheap. I have never paid over $50 for that hotel ever.

Congrats!

Just teach her "Where's the rum?"

Oh you guys are SUCH a bad influence... mom's never going to be the same after being a Champagne Girl and now you want to ply her with RUM???

Well,.... OK....:upsidedow

Hmm where do you live? I need to move there. Not for 5 weeks but my area is really not great about missing school. They will let you do independent study but tell you how wrong you are for doing it.

I just noticed - you are Northern CA too! That is where I am! Of course some teachers give you a little attitude about missing school, and if someone missed 4+ weeks, there would be some discussion. Otherwise, they seem to appreciate the value of traveling. They have had the same Vice-Principal for some time. The Principal is great as well. We are lucky. They are the only school in the district. Small district! It is Woodside Elementary.

That was very touching. My dad is the eldest son - he has 3 older sisters and 3 younger brothers. He is, in many ways, the sound leader in the group. Maybe he needed to come refreshed as he could be (traveling hours from Aruba) - but just maybe my grandmother thought it would be better for him to arrive to care for his siblings.

I have to look into flights...all my sisters and brother already have them. I was going to D.C. next week, but had to cancel.
Lisa

Was D.C. for work or vacation? I have run into a few people headed there next week and wonder if I am missing something?

I forgot, thanks for reminding me. We talked about dinner, but never came up with a place and time. Maybe the time was 5 or 6? I want to do the P&P party, so darn it, no dinner for me.

Hey we will eat dinner.......Pirate Dinner! Umm do we need a reservation for dinner somewhere or just wing it? I am thinking wing it since this is a fly by the seat of our pants kinda night :rotfl: but if there is someplace we just have to try then I'm game.

I'm into winging it, but make ressies if you want for us too, that's me winging it and leaving the work to you :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Don't know what's open at MK that night, anyone, bueller???

Ok not sure how I missed you l ived up my way before. We are about an hour and a half apart. I am in Fairfield, halfway between SF and Sac. When I asked my daughters school about Independent Study they said it HAD to be a minimum of 10 days or they do not allow it. That made no sense to me.

Lisa:hug: so sorry to hear of your loss. for you and your family during this time.

I forgot to mention that they won't let me pass it along to someone else - I said I had someone in my party, but she said they had a long list....hopefully a DIS is on it!
Lisa

Who wins the lottery...

I looked at the Mary Jane Minnie crocs that some one posted the link for many, many pages ago....they are cute! I may just have to get them :thumbsup2

I'm getting the pink ones... I think it would be great if they had an outfit for Minnie that included her wearing crocs!!!

Caseys.... Main Street... Best Hot Dogs!!! Can't go wrong...

& when you are watching the fireworks from Main St... I'll be at the GF watching too!!!

Can I ask for a special prayer tonight?

Some of you might remember I went to Minnesota to visit my Grandmother back in December...she broke her hip. She was 98, and had never spent the night in the hospital other than having babies. My sister and I visited (that's when I bought my purse at the mall of america).

Anyway, my parents emailed two days ago that she took a turn for the worse with her recovery. My parents were in Aruba. They got a flight home to SFO, landed last night around 10pm. This morning at 3:30am they went to he airport to fly to MSP - my grandmother's home is about 2 hours away. As soon as they landed, they got a call from my Uncle that she passed away.

Her name is Adeline Flaig and she truly was a beautiful and wonderful woman. She had 7 kids, 32 grandchildren, and I can't keep up with how many great-grandchildren...maybe 50.

She lost her husband 10 years ago, and a few weeks (Jan. 98). She was very sad for a year after, but then came out of it and made a couple trips across the country to visit our family. I have great memories of my kids riding the cable car with her.

So I'm a little sad, and would love the thought of prayers for her welcome home.

Thanks.
Lisa

 I'll keep your family in my thoughts. I hope to still be traveling in my 90's - she sounds like a remarkable woman.

Nan, how long would you be there on the 24th. We are thinking of going down on the 24th or 25th for bubbas birthday. If you guys are spending some time on saturday we could plan on meeting up.

Venetia,
Are you and Bubba planning to go to the March meet? I haven't seen anyone but me and Darrell mention going to that one.

See we do not have school break until March 21-30. But I have Wiggles live tickets for San Jose on the 25th. So I was thinking maybe the 26th-29th (Wed-Sat) might not be as crowded as the weekend. We all have the premium passes so anytime is FREE. Free is good. Makes Disneyland a cheap vacation. Sometimes I price line a three star room for $35 bucks and usually always get Crown Plaza which is pretty nice. Cheap room, free admission and Disneyland makes me a happy camper!

We love Priceline hotels at DL. Last Oct we got the Hilton Suites for $75 a night for 3 nights! It was awesome.

I think we've had Hilton, Marriott, Hilton Suites, Crowne Plaza, and the Doubletree and all have been great.

We have Premiums too.

are you kidding....come with us, leave Darrel to relax. It's a vacation, you can rest when you get home.

I just had the Dland talk with Paul. He said " after 15 days you will want to get home " aaaaa nope, I'm gonna wanna party at Dland with my new best friends.....

Thanks for the offer. Now we have planned to stay at the Hyatt Thursday night - get into MCO around 11pm. then Friday pick-up the rental car and drive to the Radisson at the Port then dinner at Grills.

Is anyone bringing gifts for their servers or stateroom hosts? And if so what?

We've never done this before but I see threads on the main board about it all the time.

Was D.C. for work or vacation? I have run into a few people headed there next week and wonder if I am missing something?

For work...I had a conference there that I was looking forward to. We go and visit Capital Hill, have meetings with some of the Congressional aides...regarding healthcare issues relating to surgery centers. Lisa

Couple of questions for the group at large ...

What is Pirates/Princesses Night???

Where can I find our group logo items on Cafe Press???

and last but not least ...

"Where's the Rum?!?"
