I got this as an e-mail yesterday and wanted to share. Author unknown.

Old Age, I decided, is a gift.

Jan's post reminded me of a poem my DSis once sent me.
It suited her so well, it was read at her funeral. :flower3:

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat that doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.

I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobrietry of my youth.

I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickles for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beer mats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.

We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Mmmmmmm, just taken the bread out of the machine. Yum, it smells gorgeous. No good for the diet though.:sad2:

Ok quick drive by post then will go catch up - I have 17 pages to read.

Met w/ the sleep dr today - I am getting a cpap. I requested a small one that travels well. Said could do. Company is supposed to be calling me tomorrow or Monday to set up for mask fitting. Hopefully this will help me not feel so sleepy all the time :-)

Also - weighed myself this am....I'm now at 11.5 lbs since the beginning of the year *I am jumping up and down w/ this*

Monica:cheer2: :cheer2: Great news!!!! You should be jumping up and down! And, the Cpap should make a big difference with your energy levels...we won't be able to keep up with you on the ship! :thumbsup2

Found this on my computer. Can't remember where I copied it from, although most likely on the DIS. But haven't seen it used recently so thought I'd share.

I see the dates, but I can't order tickets from Disney's site - they only have them through March (at least that's what they had last night).

:sad1: :sad2: :sad1: I know there is no way we can go...it would just be crazy. We land at 5ish on Friday night and are staying at the Hyatt. It would just be too much and when I started to ask Scott about it, he just gave me that look (you know the one...the "are you seriously asking me to add one last minute major thing on a 2 week vacation?" look:lmao: ).

I agree with you Linda, It would be better to fly out of lgb or sna but if you have to do LAX. Flyboy and I both say do a flight after 2pm. That way you are not rushing and stressing out. Also Southwest at LAX on sundays always have long lines to check in and go through security just keep that in mind too.

Well Orange County has a 3:05 pm that I could take. It is only $59 per person! Heck my flight to florida from California was under $500 total (all taxes and fees) for four people. Gotta love the cheap fares lately.

5:00 isn't getting here quick enough. I'm ready to go home NOW! Falling asleep at my desk. LOL! I guess they're not giving me enough work! And I'm craving a Subway sandwich. Yummy! MUST stop there on my way home.

Just a little FYI . . . Alex went to camp when he was 12 - only child (not planned that way of course), one of the first long periods of time we had just to ourselves in a long time . . . 9 months later Sophia arrived. :rotfl2:

a camp souvenir?

Also feeling the need to weigh myself. With all the snow shoveling I've been doing, some of those 5 pounds I've gained back surely must be going away. Feels like it at least! :thumbsup2
