Just go to Palo and ask if you can sit at the bar and have a souffle. Order a glass of port to go with that! Yummer!!

Monica, you people are all in bed at midnight...it will be the west coast girls barging into Palo's for the souffles and Marilyn too :lmao: :lmao:

Nan - I'll stay up for chocolate souffle (and the company) :lmao:

Chocolate....yum...

Aliens_borg_assimilation_faces.gif

;)

Pj

Is that a Borg??? So cool!!!

To my other chocolate souffle sisters - I now need to lose a further 7lbs to accommodate eating these!!:lmao:

Nite all. Dreaming of chocolate souffle.

:cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

Did I read that correctly????

Ya know... I could have SWORN I typed SNACKS... I think we have a fairy on board... maybe a pixie... she's up to no good, you know... :tinker:

But if we do bring them... they will sparkle!!!

Just FYI, got a package yesterday addressed to John Halkias DeGeer!:lmao:

She adopted you???

John,

We already have the art work and its no problem to print it out on iron-on transfer paper to put on shirts. Now if it's legal is another question. What on that art work that may have a copy wright on it is the problem. As long as they are "home made" there should be no problem.

I would be happy to print them for those who want iron them on themselves.
PM me with your name and mailing address.

Doug

We won't tell if you don't tell... but selling them on ebay might get you into trouble...

Yeah...and we're covering the stupid press conference tomorrow and losing commercial time in Regis. I've NEVER understood why this type of thing is considered BREAKING news....man just cover it in the stupid sports segment of the regular newscast.

:scared: thanks for letting me vent.

Usually the President interupts All My Children...

Monica, lol

If I had a drink or two it might have been worth it, but oh my, I was hugging my pillow just praying for the room to stop spinning.

Pj

Ginger Ale PJ... That's the only thing that helped me...

We don't get those here :sad1:

I miss snow days, shoveling...

NO YOU DON'T!!!!!! :lmao:

Molly just went to bed, time for me too. I have to get up early to work to pay for my cat 1. Just kidding.:lmao:

I'm headed off too, please hope that DD's blood sugar is coming down so I can go to sleep and not come back til tomorrow.

pleasant dreams...

:rotfl: Gee, and I had a fleeting vision of you in a lime green bedazzled tutu! :lmao:

John... I need your waist measurements...

Oh Michelle I didn't forget you, I just forgot to ,mention you :lmao:

I love the idea of ordering the whole menu, but let's do it in Karen's Sweet Room from the good menu :lovestruc

Ohhhhhhhhhhh doesn't she get Palo stuff in her suite??? How many Soufle's can we order in one sitting???

SHE SAID SNACKS!!!! you are so putting words in other peoples quote, so sneaky... :scared1: :rolleyes1

The Pixie is REVEALED!!! and I thought I was going a little loopy... :rotfl2:

I think that make me his "adoptive parent"?:confused3 :lmao:

That doesn't mean I am covering your arcade card bill on the ship young man.

Pj

Or his beer tab either!!

Yes... Vu.... Little pixie you!!!

Yup, and an even busier night tomorrow. Fundraiser for a friend who is running for judge (we sat beside each other in our first Law School Class - Contracts). Levy meeting at school, and senior night for wrestlers.

Then Amy leaves on Friday morning.

No rest for Captain Spanx!

Captain Spanx doesn't need rest...he needs SNACKS!!! Staw away from the Kriptonite... opps... wrong super hero.... :cool2:

I must be the only one who prefers the Palo tiramisu to the souffle, and I am a card carrying chocoholic...

I say try them all!!!

Ok I am going to post this for the late night crew and then one time during the day for the skimmers out there. I will be solo pretty much as far as adult activities and I do have some late night buddies lined up :thumbsup2 BUT.... is there anyone out there who might want to buddy up with me so I can try Palos but not be alone doing it? I have never ate there and would really like to get brunch and dinner and tea in but not all alone. I don't mind being a third or fourth wheel either. :flower3:

End of my really pathetic sounding public announcement :rotfl2:

Oh wait were we all supposed to try for a certain day for tea right? I might have that wrote down somewhere.

It's just me and mom so depending on what you book, maybe we can link them... who are you sitting with at regular dinners?

Now that was fast! I only just re-put this in my sig a couple of minutes ago! LOL

No official TF connection. Way back many years ago a thread was started on the CB to help people 'attract' the TF. Polls were posted on the best 'bribes' (cash and chocolate were the TF's choice). Lots of 'clapping' posts ensued and basically it just grew to be one of the 'home bases' of some DISers (you know....one of those cliques). Anyway, at one point members chose colors (the TF is, after all about color) and artifacts were awarded to attract the TF. I was awarded the Story Book as I was usually the last one to post each day and would start a 'bed time' story for the rest of the Tagliarchy.

There was a point a few years back when the TF was getting upset with all the threads (on many different forums) being posted begging for tags. The TF ;) asked for them to stop, but said it was OK to go to the Tagliarchy thread and just post those requests there. There's not much TF business done there anymore, as I mentioned, it's really just a home base for the handful of us that are left AND anyone else who wants to join in. But I have always loved the book reading smilie they found for me.

There you go....more than you ever wanted to know....

I'm taking my chances and hope that someday the TF will honor me with her certain brand of Pixie Dust...

I think Broadway. There was a thread on the main cruise forum back in the fall about what he had done and how he was trying to win a part in the show Rent though an online contest. (He didn't win - but a lot Dis people voted for him).

Haven't heard anything since then.

Other than our servers and stateroom host he's was the only cm we've ever really interacted with on-board.

He tried out for Rent I hear...it's supposed to close soon anyway...

funny thing was I didn't want him to do it either. He was the one that knew he wanted no more children and this was his solution. It creeped me out. But I caved after 5+ years of him telling me no more kids. I still to this day think, what would #3 have been, boy or girl  but nope, we're done.

JOHN1 and DENNIS!!!! RUN!! They are talking about THE SURGERY again!!! :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Dennis said "exacto", errrr....he means "eggs-actly". I think he means YES stay away from there with sharp instruments! :lmao: :lmao:

Um... Guys... My brother told me about HIS surgery while he was carving the Thanksgiving Turkey...:scared1:

Ok all...I think we have all made the decision....I'm sticking with our connecting 9's. AS MUCH AS IT LITERALLY AND COMPLETELY SUCKS THE LIFE OUT OF ME.

I know it is best. And tomorrow, come hell or high water, I'm paying this balance off.

Thank you all! ! !

Now I can change my mind if we want to have a hosted party in Cat. 1, I can arrange that for say a mere $1000 a person. . . I 'll pick up the champagne tab. :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I'll call to see if I can change the name on the reservations - if someone wants it, they should PM me!

Oh, the freedom of it all. Thank you all!!!

Just let it go... the stress of it was not worth the price of the Cat 1... (coming from someone in a Cat 5...) We will love you no matter where you are in the ship... just come to my place for munchies whenever you want!!!

it was little, but it scared us. Molly is on the couch with me now :scared1:

She by the way wants the cat 1. How sad my 10 year old understands the difference....spoiled child....(I say that tongue in cheek, she is so not that kind of girl, her brother on the other hand...)

However... Nan...if you get it...

PARTY AT YOUR PLACE!!!

& we ain't leavin!!!

Marilyn - I WISH I only had 7 lbs to lose :rotfl:

I will just have to step it up (esp now that I can take Palo to go)

I wish I only had 7 lbs to lose. This 7 is extra to the 28!!!

Mary and Marilyn (and any Canadians) - if you want to order stuff and send it to me to deliver to you once you get here let me know.

Wow Monica, might take you up on that, but if too many folk ask you might need a separate suitcase!!!:rotfl:

Tonight was chicken broth, since last night I have felt like the room is spinning around me, and I have had a tender stomach since. I haven't even had alcohol since November, geesh. Stomach is still a little tender today.

Pj

Aaaaaw PJ!!

OK i am going to try and keep up with you guys again...LOL...I am Keri
mom to Matthew 12 and abbey 5 and of course dh CLiff....we live in tampa and this will be our 6th cruise and let me tell you I am not prepared at all. Just made final payment....i have no clue how we are getting to the port...did not reserve palo's....what night do you think i should...if there are any left, what am i missing things i need to do...i am usually so OCD with our trips but not this time...now I am feeling stressed!!

we are in a cat 5 by the way...just incase anyone wanted to know.

I am going to try and stay ontop of the posting this time...you guys are such a chatty group!

Hi Keri.

Hi all, I've tried to catch up , but have given up. Dh and I have been looking at excursions. We are looking at mostly tours in the different ports.
I've been looking throught our clothes as well, trying to put together outfits for the differnent deck parties and theme events. I am trying to keep our luggage to a minimum. :rotfl:

Soprry, I don't know that term - 'keep our luggage to a minimum'!!:lmao:

Love the Borg smilie!!!!

Me too. I've copied it, just need to try and use it now.:)

:rotfl: Gee, and I had a fleeting vision of you in a lime green bedazzled tutu! :lmao:

:rotfl2:

All caught up now! After I posted about my horrible internet connection, it straightened up and I haven't lost it since. Strange.

Horrible day for Tyler today. Tiring day for me. Migraine down to a dull throb, so that's good. Whole body is sore from shoveling, but wanted to help the neighbors. The woman right next door to me just had shoulder surgery a couple months ago, so I don't want her shoveling. And on the other side of her is an 80 year old man who I definitely don't want shoveling, but he'll do it so he can get his car out, so many of us in the neighborhood try to beat him to it. He got a kick out of Tyler shoveling his driveway last storm. :goodvibes The woman neighbor was just so happy, but I kept telling her once I did mine, it's really nothing to just keep going down the sidewalk. And that's the truth! Plus, I knew it would be a great workout, so I was happy for the opportunity! :thumbsup2 And if we get that 12 more inches, I might just have another chance tomorrow morning for an extra workout before work!

OK....I'm going to go watch the rest of Lost, or at least until I fall asleep. Will catch up tomorrow after work! Goodnight!

You're a sweetie Holly doing all that shovelling. You will probably ache in different places tomorrow from all the different exercise.

That would be good on the SR door.

We have 190% of the normal snow pack in the Cascade Mountains, with another 30 inches expected over the next couple of days. Must be that global warming. ;)

You have all our snow I think!!

I just got back from my work meeting. It went well - I did get an extra bonus, but not quite as big to cover the call I got today....

They called for Cat. 1!!!!

Arggg....I have until 5pm tomorrow. I just can't seem to figure this out - we wouldn't be able to pay it all outright, so that makes me think we should say no. But then I imagine being in that wonderful suite for 15 nights with my family.

I think this might give me some levage to make the cruise at least work - my bonus will cover our 2 cat 9's final payment. But still....

Cat. 1......arggg......think of the DIS parties!! I hope someone is still awake to talk me through this!!! Or waking up!
Lisa

Oh wow.:woohoo:

Just read that to DH and he responded...makes you think. Gee, I wish I could figure this one out.

We are going to Tahoe over President's week and I called our ownership place and they are going to try to rent it. It is a lot per night ($1100) so if they can rent it, there is some more $$. But still, I know we coudl use that money for other things and events and vacations. If nothing else, maybe knowing we saved the money on Cat. 1 will make it easier to move forward with the cruise in general. Maybe that is why it is being available to us...because really we are very close to canceling given DH's work schedule and recent slow down. But if my bonus covers the cat. 9's, perhaps I should just focus on getting us on the ship. I don't know. I do wish we could be in the Cat. 1. It seems like such incredibly luck to have it offered. Is there anyone on board that wants it if we don't take it? Is Noel out there???

Lisa

I am sure Noel was on the waitlist for a Cat 1.

I like your Mom's thinking...I will be sorry if I miss this cruise. DH and I will make the final, FINAL decision tomorrow but my bonus certainly helps the situation. :goodvibes

I sure hope your decision is YES.

My day started off bad. Got some bad news about a good friend of mine. She is about 2 years out of breast cancer and they found a spot on her lung. So I dropped my daughter off at school and told my boss I had to go and drove away. He always looks at me funny when I do that...thank god they're flexible. So please send your thoughts and prayers my way for my friend. She is weighing very heavy on my mind and I can't really talk to anyone here as she doesn't want people to know yet. Tomorrow she goes in for a complete CT of her lung. They were actually checking her abdomen last time and happened to see the lung. Hopefully she'll get the results by friday. Anyhow, I just want it to be something other than metastatic (did i spell that right?) breast cancer. Sorry to be debbie downer, but I had to get it off my chest.

S

So sorry to hear about your friend.

Don't those cookies taste great! Everything tastes better just because it is on the ship. We order sandwiches and cookies and chips at night to be able to take them off the ship during the day. Great yummy food and FREE.

Well, not exactly free - but included in the price of the cruise. ;)

My boss is back in the office a day earlier than expected.

So my DIS-ing activities are going to be severely curtailed compared to the last few days. I'm back to having to click in and out of the screen whenever I hear footsteps!

They're going to know somethings up with all these people asking for souffles :lmao: Sounds like an amazing midnight snack!

Midnight? What is midnight?
It's as much as I can manage not to fall asleep in my dinner!

To my other chocolate souffle sisters - I now need to lose a further 7lbs to accommodate eating these!!:lmao:

I'm just buying bigger clothes!

Speaking of which, I had a Lands End order delivered yesterday. And not a single thing fitted me. I'm sure their sizings have gone all wrong and are no longer reliable. Bit like happened with M&S here years ago.

Trust Internet Access

Internet access within the Trust is provided via the National Health Service Network. The Trust’s essential clinical and business applications also share this same limited bandwidth and as an organisation, we need to ensure that priority is given to core functions to ensure that they run as efficiently as possible.

In accordance with the internet access policy, and to increase the efficiency with which we use our bandwidth, UHB has subscribed to a product called Websense which is a website directory and security alert database

To help to ensure that the internet is used in an effective and secure manner, Websense will place a daily time quota on some of the websites that users visit.

Individual users will have unrestricted access to work related medical and research sites but will still be able to use the internet for personal purposes in line with Trust policies

Users will be permitted a total of one hour a day to access websites that fall into a category that the trust has deemed to be non work related. At midnight the quota will be reset and a further one hour will be allowed the following day.

The quotas are split into 5 minute periods. Should the site that you try to access fall into a category that has a quota set on it, you will have the option to use quota time. If you choose this option, you will be able to access the site of your choice and any other site that is within a quota category. Once the 5 minute period is over, if you are still within the website you will be prompted to see if you wish to carry on and use another 5 minutes of your quota time.

If a site that you regularly use for work related purposes falls into category that has a quota, you can either email websense@uhb.nhs.uk or alternatively contact the I.T. Service Desk on x 2199.

A more detailed document on the internet access policy can be found on the trusts intranet, under the policies and guidelines section.

This e-mail has just been sent out at my work. Looks like my DIS-ing is about to be seriously curtailed. :sad2: The annoying thing is that I don't even work for this company, we're just based on their site and use their computer systems.

Up to Canada, the postal service is $8 as well, but UPS is $30 custom brokerage fee, even if there is no duty/customs to pay :scared1:
Pj

When I had something delivered by UPS recently there was a customs fee which UPS had paid and then collected from me, but UPS didn't charge anything on top of that. Whereas the Post Office now charge a blanket £8.00 admin fee, and I have to go to the sorting office to pay it and collect the item. So they are making money out of the sender and the recipient.
