Mary and Marilyn (and any Canadians) - if you want to order stuff and send it to me to deliver to you once you get here let me know.

Last year on the Med. thread, someone mentioned about a portable storage device. I didn't want to take my laptop across the world, so I checked into it and bought it for $99. IT IS AWESOME. It is an I/O Magic Storage transfer device. It must weigh 2 pounds (if that). And it is about 7 inches by 4 inches by 2 inches high. Anyway, I didn't take my laptop and every day I just downloaded my cards right in our stateroom. We took over 4,000 pictures. Then when we got home, I just hooked it up to my computer and downloaded them all. It was great.

Here's the website if anyone wants to check it out:

FYI, for those who have iPods, you can actually do this with an iPod too . . .

For $29 you can buy this, but should check compatibility with your iPod and your camera.

Home for a few minutes before ballet class . . . Too busy during the day to get on, and once again hopelessly behind.

Oh, and upon reading my post, before Nan asks . . .

Sophia's ballet class - NOT mine.

GREAT IDEA . . .

The "He-Man Woman Haters Club"!
(any Little Rascals Fans out there?)

Monica, yes and you made me spit on my screen. Do you think that 15 days will be enough time for them to build a fort up on deck 9?

No task is too great for the Beer Boys . . . all we need is some wood, some nails, and the basketball court on deck 10.

Yes, and they'll enlist the baby boys for the "infantry."

Woody

Ok Girls... what they don't know is that we plan on invading!!! Oh yeah... and if their lucky... we'll bring snacks....

We can use the tip jars from the verandah visits!

Roaming tip jars... :goodvibes

I've participated in meet threads before and none were ever like this one. It's a special bond, for sure! :goodvibes Probably because most of us have been getting to know each other for a year, and it's not usually that long on a meet thread. Wonderful! :grouphug:

Yeah, I'm thinking if I ever take another DCL cruise...I'm going to be SO lonely!!!

yup from midnight until 3 am I figure you get the whole bunch of crazy CA girls.

& one nutcase from NY...

Ok now you both are really onto something here! That would be fun. Each cabin would have one or two items from each course, LOL I have just a window and not a big room BUT I would host dessert! I mean I will have the cake of the day in my room already might as well share!

I say we order the whole menu... I've always wanted to do that...

My friend is Norcalmouse. He had to cancel as his soon to be ex changed her mind. She didn't like that she was not invited as he was just taking his kids. They have been separated over a year but it still was not ok and he must abide by her wishes of course. Kids do not know so that's a plus I suppose.

Get the feeling it may be the amount he's spending on the cruise that's getting to the ex?

I'm in, I'm a tomboy that counts, you don't have any rules that say it doesn't:drinking1 that was a black and tan (I don't like straight Guinness)

We're still sneakin in... we're just not telling them when... I can't wait to see them in their lost boys outfits!!!

Hey... Wendy got to stay didn't she??? If we bring Wendy along...who knows!!!

you're kidding aren't you?

I've had no less than 20 calls in the last few days. Mitt called me a least 5 times. Yup Republican, oh yeah like ya didn't know that allready :lmao:

I think it depended on where you lived... I'm in NY big state but not as contested as other states...

   to you and DH.

1 option.....if you know anyone (whether or not their on the cruise) - give them your DCL login info, your bday, your CF number and what you want to reserve and ask them to do the reservations for you.

The cabana massages go qiuckly

Good idea! I know exactly who can do this for me! I guess I'm not thinking straight - I should have thought of that. Thank you so much!

Hi Everyone!!

I am behind in reading (about a week), so I am going to jump in....I am really having problems with one of my son's schools....

Is anyone with High Schoolers having problems with getting off of school, I really would like to know what's going on in other schools across the country!!

They have a big problem here with parents not sending thier kids to school, so they have wonderful rules, but then for me, who's kid goes all the time.....we get hit by the same policy. Unexcused absence means the work for the day is a big fat zero! He is on the honor roll, good kid.

HELP!!

Suzie,

You can send me a PM if you want, but I would advise going up the administrative ladder on this, to your school district Superintendent, and then further to your Board of Education. We have posted a lot about stressing the educational nature of this trip, and in my mind, any rational school district would see that. Especially when your son is a good student, they should be willing to discuss with you making educational opportunities out of this trip rather than punishment.

This is coming from a school Board President.

John

I don't suppose you're doing t-shirts with your logo on, are you?
My DH has just seen it and says he'd like a shirt with it on.

PJ - Any way I can legally do this????

Would I have to do them myself?

The logo is on the website. Each "member" could do a home iron-on, use the dark t-shirt transfers you can get them in a 4x6 size sheet much cheaper then the 8x11 sheets from Avery, and do a smaller over the pocket area logo. Say the "offical" shirt is a colour of the Pan choice and "members" can be ready to go when they board the ship.

Now I have a dilema! Unfortunately my DH's grandmother passed away yesterday. She lived in Chicago. The service is Saturday so we leave from LAX on Friday. It's tough because we just did this two weeks ago when his other grandmother passed away. It's been a tough month. So . . . back to my dilema . . . I won't be able to make my reservations!! I can't remember if it's Friday night at 9:00 pm or Saturday night at 9:00 pm, but either way I won't be anywhere near a PC. I guess I'll just have to hope that I can get the two excursions and the couples cabana massage when I get back on Sunday. Things happen for a reason, so I have to believe that I will still be able to get them reserved. Thanks for letting me get all that out of my system!

So sorry about dh's grandmother.
You can also always go to McDonalds or Starbucks for internet.

Another great idea - thank you. I know there is a Starbucks across the street from the hotel. Now I'll make sure I take a laptop.

Too bad for Norcalmouse. So, his ex was upset she was not invited!?!

Woody

Yes she said it was something she always wanted to do and thought he was being hurtful towards her to go without her. They had been together over 15 years and only apart for a little over one. I think her anger will be there for a long while since he was the one to want the divorce. Nice guy he is but he is in a bad situation in all this.

When I was telling all my friends (I told anyone who would listen) that I was calling for rooms day one and did they want in he had told me she had wanted to go years ago but had said she would only go if they got a catagory one and nothing else. Needless to say they have 4 kids so it was a lot of money. When I booked rooms he said whatever he could fit in is fine that he was not picky. He was willing to get two inside rooms if that was all that was left. I told all my friends we would aim for catagory nines to have the window to the world.

Funny thing is this summer his parents have booked a cruise and invited her along and she is going and allowed the kids to go on that one.

Just FYI, got a package yesterday addressed to John Halkias DeGeer!:lmao:

John,

We already have the art work and its no problem to print it out on iron-on transfer paper to put on shirts. Now if it's legal is another question. What on that art work that may have a copy wright on it is the problem. As long as they are "home made" there should be no problem.

I would be happy to print them for those who want iron them on themselves.
PM me with your name and mailing address.

Doug

AND your warm clothes....8 to 12 inches of snow recently!

Imagine this thread if none of you worked?:lmao:

Oh yeah... that's called a snow day....

How about something like one of those dinner parties where you move from house to house for the different courses?

GREAT!!!

Who's bringing the Green Bean Cassarole?

I was wrong - it's 13 weeks from this Saturday (sorry)

Well...more like 5 lbs for me realistically, but I'm going to try for 10...

I'm still thinking!!! Not sure what to put in there.....I just know if the girls get a basket, he'll have to have one as well or he'll get the sad puppy look on his face.

V...you'd better get a basket for yourself...wouldn't want to be left out...

John1,
Make that a keg of nails and 2 kegs of BEER ! ! !:cool1:

Yeah....try getting the kegs past security... one they'll confiscate and one they'll DRINK!!!

Here's a silly question...
what do the current CC cards look like? I put both sets in the same place and now I don't know which is the current one. I think it is the blue one with the flag, right? The others will make their way to a scrapbook box! (notice I did not say book since I just dream about scrapping these days:sad2: )

AND your warm clothes....8 to 12 inches of snow recently!

Yes, I'm glad I just looked up the weather. Of course, I don't have "snow" clothes!! It should be an interesting trip. When I was there a couple of weeks ago, it was cold, but not snowing. I just hope we can get out of there on Sunday!

I can't help you at all on this one....I first sailed in 2005 and I'm STILL waiting for my CC kit. (I've requested that they resend it many times)
