May 1, 2016 - Magic 7 nt cruise!

Thank you so much! We are in cabin 8036. My husband is Glenn, I am Carrie, and my daughter (12) is Chloe. This is the very first time I have ever done anything like this, so I would appreciate you telling me what I need to do! Thank you!!
This will also be our family's first time participating. We tried to join in on our last cruise but we were too late. The kids kept walking by doors with the FE's and asking why we didn't have one. This year, I tried to be on the ball. I ordered a personalized FE off of Ebay (I'm not craft enough to make my own and I though the price was fair). I also went on OrientalTrading and ordered some little trinkets that made us smile. I went on Pinterest and there are some crazy ideas out there. Most are for women that are MUCH more crafty than I am and have the time and patience to go the extra mile. My kids are going to go crazy finding little items in their pouches during the trip. I also joked that it might save us some money in the gift shop. And what's better than receiving a surprise gift from someone that you don't know?!

I can at this point add your family to our list. We have 2 stateroom, 1043 my husband Benny and I'm Judy, my daughter are on 1041 Anissa 24 and Mareli 16, they will be also making there own gifts to exchange.

On your part, you would have to make or buy gifts for the people that have agree to exchange with you. Then you would buy or make a fish extender to hang on the outside of the stateroom so that at one point of the cruise we will deliver the gift. View attachment 158697
This will be my first time participating on the gift exchange and I'm very excited.

One more question if you don't mind. Is your group doing daily or one time gifts? Also, where are you from? Just wondering if Colorado themed stuff would be fun or more of the same?

We're from Pennsylvania. I don't really think anyone expects anything in particular. Colorado themed gifts are a great idea. With 50 people, I didn't want to go too crazy. My husband is complaint enough at the thought of finding all of the rooms. Lol. We're aiming for 2-3 visits throughout the week.

Thank you for adding us Judy! This sounds so fun and I'm having our first FE made - I am so not handy!

Well, thank you for adding us! I'm very excited to experience the FE fun!!

:D:D:DSo this is my first time doing FE and first cruise. How many gifts do I need to take per person? Do I just give them something one time during the cruise..? :thanks: Just want to make sure.

I guess you can do pretty much whatever you want to do. You can do one visit or multiple. You can leave one family gift or individual gifts. I really don't think there are any set rules.

Ok.....I had some time at work (shhhhh) and posted a map of where we can locate everyone participating in the FE. Room 8036 is the optional room as they joined in a little late :) Hope this helps. I know that my hubby was complaining about finding all of the rooms

Hi! I'm Ellen from Philadelphia and my fiancé and I just booked the cruise last night! We both work in healthcare with crazy schedules and just realized we both have that week off so we decided why not take the cruise! I've cruised before but never on the Disney cruise so I'm very excited and he's never cruised at all. We are booked for the second dinner seating which is fine by us because we don't usually get out of work until late so we are used to eating later and booked Palo for one of the nights. We are flying in the night before the cruise and can't decide whether to just stay by the airport then take a shuttle or uber to the port or head down and stay somewhere by the port the night before. Does anyone have any suggestions on hotels or what you've done in the past? Also any excursion tips would be appreciated too! Thanks so much!

Ellen,

This sounds so exciting and spontaneous! I'm in healthcare too, but it sounds like you guys might be patient facing where I am not. So, this is our 4th Disney Cruise and 2nd leaving from Port Canaveral. We fly in generally on Thursday to spend two days at the park, so I might not be a lot of help with hotels. From a transportation perspective, we always use the Disney transfer option because it is so easy! We've never been to these destinations and have booked scuba diving as our excursions. In the past we have booked snorkeling, zip lining, swimming with the Dolphins, and a little sight seeing. It's tropical so I don't think you can go wrong! Hope this helps.

Glad to add you to our list. I have family that live in the Denver area and other areas in Colorado. I love Colorado and miss going there. My mom moved closer to us so we don't make it to Colorado as much as we use to. She lived in Canon City. I miss skiing and white water rafting in the summer time.

We have added your family to our list, as well! We are in Cabin 8016 and my 2 little girls LOVE LOVE LOVE walking around and delivering FE gifts! It is the highlight of their cruise! :)
