So, DH and I are going without kids to Disney for my birthday during free dining. We are staying at CSR and Im very excited, yet feeling a bit guilty (but Im sure Ill get over it :) )

Here is my plan for ADRs, CS and snacks. Im trying to maximize the free DDP, so we pay as little OOP as possible.

Your help/suggestions/comments would be appreciated. Im hoping to split a CS for breakfast and a CS for lunchm, then use our TS for dinner.

Let me know what you think ... see below.

Looks like you planned your credits accordingly. It should work just fine. Have a great trip and enjoy your parents only time :goodvibes

I see you scheduled Ohana for dinner. Be aware that because it is a dinner show, it costs 2 TS per person.

(Sorry- I misread another website's summary of DDP- see iluvpluto27's response below.)

Ohanas not a dinner show and it is only 1TS. I think you're thinking of the luau which is 2TS.

Ohana is 1 TS for breakfast and dinner.

The Polynesian Luau is a dinner show that is 2 TS credits.

Does anyone think we'll be able to stretch out CS over bfast and lunches?

OP, is using a cs at breakfast necessary?

I am thinking if you can bring something to eat at breakfast from home. (Cereal bars, small prepacked cereal bowls, bagels, etc.) To eat in your room. Then, have your early lunch. Then dinner. You should be fine. At least, this works for me.

However, if you really are breakfast people.
And you must divide the cs, between breakfast, and lunch.
You could share your lunch cs credits, at big meal places.

Tangeriene cafe- The lamb, and chicken platter can easily satisfy two people.

Cosmic Rays- Half chicken, and rib platter, is a great to share also.

I do not think using a cs for breakfast, really maximizes ddp credits.

An alternate suggestion for getting 3 meals out of your credits would be to each use a snack credit for breakfast for a muffin/pastry/etc (there's a decent variety of stuff you can probably make work) and then use your refillable mugs (assuming you're getting them) for coffee/cocoa/fruit punch/etc to go with it.

Then, you're free to each use your CS to get your own lunch.

Thats a great idea! At home we usually only have a bagel or something for breakfast.

Does anyone know things that are breakfast orientated that can be considered as a snack?

Im also going to use garden grocer too I think.

Don't be feeling guilty about just you & DH going...enjoy! (We're going about the same time without any offspring...yippee!)

Anyway, we just got back a couple of weeks ago from trip with DD & her BFF, and just wanted to say your plan looks great. We did in-room quickie breakfasts a lot (poptarts & the like) and used all of our counter services as lunch. We're not small people (I'm quite pooh-sized, actually) yet found that we were easily filled up on Disney portions, even things like hamburgers are generally bigger than the usual McD's types.

And we found ourselves very, very full from all table service restaurants...even though we ate fairly early every night (between 5 & 6 p.m.) we were rarely hungry at all until breakfast time the next day.

If you are worried about there not being enogh food, you could also purchase a bag of bagels in the hotel shop and use them for breakfast in the am. Just a thought if you don't think you will have enough. We used a lot of our snacks for fresh fruit (grapes/pineapple). We did also purchase the refillable mugs.

On the day that you go to Magic Kingdom - have breakfast at the park at the Main Street Bakery - there are a lot of really good options that count as a snack credit. Or, if you want to use a CS credit and split it, you can get an item like a breakfast sandwhich as your entree, a pastry like a cinammon roll for dessert and a beverage and share it.

Thats a great idea for the Main street bakery. Im going to try that!

I think that Im going to order from garden grocer things like fresh fruit, water, beer (hehehe), and bagels.

Question ... I know CSR has a toaster, can you bring your own bagels there to toast?

Yes, you can use it. You can also use the moicrowave for heating things

Thats great news ... we'll plan on doing that then. Do they have butter/peanut butter/cream cheese we can purchase there?

Breakfast at Pepper market – 1 CS, 1 Snack
Lunch at Pepper market – 1 CS, 1 Snack
Dinner at Boma – 2 TS
DTD from Animal Kingdom Lodge – 1 Snack

Isn't Boma only 1 TS credit?

Yes, but there will be two of them ... hence, 2 TS credits.

Split breakfast & lunch between dd (23) and myself our entire trip last year and then had our own TS for dinner. Plenty of food. Also did this with DH the year before. No appy at dinner this time but I still think you'll be fine. We probably spent $5 per day, excluding alcohol, for extra food. Never tried to maximize the plan, just ate when we were hungry and didn't over-order food so that our credits lasted longer. The couple of times we ordered our own CS meals, we wasted more than half so splitting was the way to go for us.
