I'm sure over the years I've known this answer....but it escapes me right now....
DH and I were talking about buying enough points to stay onsite after our retirement in a one bdrm for four to six weeks in Jan and Feb..we would be comfortable in a one bdrm but wouldn't want to move every week or ten days. We would most likely stay at SSR or OKW simply because it would be easier for grocery shopping,etc to have our car as close as possible to our temporary living quarters. For the life of me I can't remember the max stay allowed in the same accommodations. Anyone?

I think it is 30 days in one unit- not long enough to be considered residents or to get mail.

I think the reason for the limits is to prevent anyone from qualifying to vote using WDW as their residence. Disney wants to control the special local government district they convinced Florida to make for them. Only certain Disney employees get to actually live in that district (and AFAIK, most of them don't vote, LOL)

While we often see posts suggesting a limit on length of stay, I have never come across any mention of such a limitation in the DVC documentation - except the statement that ownership does not constitute FL residency.

I believe the limitation is governed only by the number of points you have or, alternatively, the amount of cash you have available for your reservation(s).

You should have no problem with a 4-6 week stay using your points.

There are probably policies in place on the hotel side, but I wouldn't expect any from the DVC side. If you stay in a hotel room longer than 30 days, there are tax implications.
