max pass entitlement?

Anyone that has continued updates on the best way to do this would be awesome. I have two tickets with Maxpass that we'll be using in July, and that refund would be really nice since that service is unavailable.

This exactly. I think the original use was a slam against Disney for making folks go through any process at all, let alone the lengths some folks have had to go through. I see no one actually criticizing folks for expecting compensation for their MaxPass purchase.

This was exactly my reading of those comments as well.

Jaina, I put in a refund request via the email form last Thursday and am still waiting to hear back from a cast member. This is the first thing I've ever contacted Disney about, so I don't know what a common time frame is when you use the email form. As I mentioned on another post, "Disney MaxPass Refunds" is an option in the drop-down box to select your email subject, so they seem to be expecting these requests. And the form reply I received right after I submitted my request does include this sentence: "When we reply, we will include a list of information that we'll need in order to process your refund."

I'm not too concerned about time yet since our trip isn't until August, but if I don't hear back in a week or so, I'll probably try calling, and if I can't get through then, go to the ticket office in person the afternoon we arrive in town.

Thanks for letting me know you’ve done so far. I will probably do the same. It would be nice to get it taken care of before hand, and I have to spend any time in the parks in line at customer service. We are going the end of July, so I have some time too. I had kind of stopped thinking about it because I thought I saw that they would let you use the photopass part of it at least. I would rather just buy photo pass for one or two of the days and go ahead and get my refund since that doesn’t seem to be working out.

I called about 5 weeks ago and was told of the options (I may have been the first on here to get the "yes, it can be done". They said 4-6 weeks on the refund and nothing yet. Not going to lie, I'm stressing a little bit. But I figure I'll go to the ticket window down there if nothing has been refunded (well gift carded) to me by then.

I posted yesterday about my refund, but I just went to the ticket window. It took maybe 5-10 minutes and that was only because we chatted about the Beatles, LOL, and I had 4 tickets. There was no one in line at about 2 pm when we arrived. Super easy.
 
Was there any problem using your tickets to make your park reservations and then getting your MaxPass refund at the ticket window?

Nope, not at all. We had four day hoppers with park reservations and got our refund before entering for the first time. I also had a ticket we weren't using that was refunded.
 
I'm hoping that by October when we go, Disney and this state will be out of their screwed up states and Maxpass will be back. Sure, it's a 1st world problem. But it would make me mentally better. Who's with me???

Hmmm. I read that poster's response differently. I feel like the 2 of you are basically saying the same thing, not opposing things. Look at your last sentence, and then look at their last sentence, which was in reply to someone questioning their original "fussing" comment. Sorry, wasn't sure how to properly quote the post so I put it in quotes:

"So yeah. Disney is making people work for it because they've been garbage at refunds this whole time."

You are both pointing out that some people had to work harder than they should have to in order to get a refund for a service that is not currently available. I interpreted the word "fussed" to represent that -- As in, a-person-asked-for-a-refund-but-it-wasn't-given-until-they-pressed-the-issue... isn't-that-ridiculous sort of way. I didn't read "fussing" as representative of a negative, complaining behavior in itself.

I read all that the same way as you and was surprised people took it mostly the other way. Just goes to show, it's all open to interpretation even when saying the same thing! LOL
