We usually stay for 14 nights but this summer we want to stay longer but the online booking wont let me

is this a glitch in the system or is there a max number of nights you can stay in a resort?

will calling fix that or will i have to book 2 separate reservations, check in, then out then in again for the balance of our stay?

if thats the case we might as well change resorts half way through

wanted to stay at OKW the entire trip.

if i have to do 2 reservations will they let us stay in the same room for both or will we have to pack up everything to move 2 doors down?:scared1::confused3

thanks

Even when you call MS, you can only book seven nights. So you have to call back to add the extra nights. Just keep adding to your reservation, but you'll probably have to do that by calling. Not sure the online booking allows modification of the reservation, which is what you would be doing adding a day or two at a time.

The 7 nights is only in relation to the 11/7 months rule.
The website do limit you to 14 days even if your checkout date is well below 7 months. I just checked and I was not able to specify more than 14 days (even 15 days to go from Saturday to Sunday is not permitted).

There is probably a maximum length of stay but 14 days seems rather small.

I would be very interested in knowing this as well. I will be in a similar situation for a reservation for next xmas.

no i could get 14 nights online just no more.

if i could get more by adding on by calling thats ok - or i could play with the dates and maybe split the trip in half.

i was looking at 18 nights so 9 at okw and 9 at boardwalk or bay lake would be cool

though i would look forward to packing and checking out then in again :(

As far as I know there is no issue staying 18 nights in one resort. It does sound like online booking is the one limiting the nights. I would do a separate reservation for the remaining 4 nights and call or email MS to link the reservations.

But your suggestion of splitting them 9/9 nights may be a better option if you like the idea of staying in two resorts. Personally, I don't like packing and unpacking to move to a different resort so I try to stay in one no matter how long my stay will be.

You'll have to call for longer. For longer, I'd likely do a split stay anyway which would likely solve the problem. Otherwise just book the 14 days and then call and add what you need to. Or you could book separate reservations and later link them.

We normally stay 21 nights one or twice 28 nights but I know for more than 14nights you have to call member services.
Break maybe this year as we are going to Australia for 28 nights

There is no maximum length of stay. The only one that exists is the one that is controlled by the total number of points you have and availability of rooms. The website allows you to book only up to fourteen days, but that is just a built in limitation of the system and does not reflect any rule on length of stay. If you want a longer period, you should call rather than do on-line reserving.

Per the DVC News, in the FAQ regarding the new online system:

Q: How many consecutive nights can be booked online?
A: Members are permitted to book up to 7 consecutive nights, exactly 11 or 7 months prior to arrival. If the reservation is secured closer to the arrival date, up to 14 consecutive nights can be reserved using the online system.

It's my understanding that the new online system is the same system MS has been using for awhile. So they might have the same limits. I would call MS if you want more than 14 days.

thanks for all the imput now i just have to decide if we split our stay with boardwalk and okw or full on okw and not worry about moving.
