Any guesses as to how long it will be after it goes down 7/30? Hoping it will be back by our September trip.

Not reopening until fall and the gossip I have heard is late fall, making it sound more like November. They are doing something big and unsure how long it will take apparently.

You’re not the only one. Was closed for over six months three years ago and now down for possibly another 3-4?

This makes me sad... it looks like I will miss it on my next trips... Seems like my August trip we will have a few refurbs. I know they have to be done but it still is frustrating... Wonder what the refurb is this time, a few years ago it was closed when went too..

I’ll say probably set in stone. It’s a Monday and Disney usually starts refurbs on Mondays.

Word is they’re going to glue a plastic WALL-E to the mountain and rename it Pixar Peak.

Yep, its pretty much set in stone. And even if there was a day or two wiggle room, no way would there be five days.

Grrrr. It was down when we were there last April too. I'll be disappointed if it's not back up by the time we come in October.

It's obviously something super major. The entire mountain is walled off, including the queue.

I'm curious as well. What could they be doing?

A friend of a friend is a cast member (not intimately related to the project, and as we know, they often don't know much anyway when it comes to details away from their position) and they said today that's it's closed as part of a park-wide push for queue improvement before Galaxy's Edge opens. Seems like if that's "all" they're doing then maybe it won't be down long. It could be that a project like that involves enough weather sensitive activities that an end date is hard to nail down. I'll be there in about a month and a half (during "fall") and am really hoping that it's opened up by then. After a cast member convinced my daughter that Harold the Yeti was just upset we were bobsledding through his mountain but otherwise he's a nice yeti she stopped bawling after her ride and later decided to try it again and has since decided that it's one of her favorites.
