Hearing conflicting details on the Matterhorn shutting down for a referb, and not opening until later this year.

I know there is a thread on here, but there is zero information about a Matterhorn referb on any other site.

Is it going to be down or is it going to be open?

Cant really say for sure. All I know is touring plans used to show it down from Aug 25-Nov 12, but now shows no refurb at all.

When I called on Friday the DLR info line said it would be down 9/22-24. They've changed this refurb around so many times in the last few months that I think it's mostly a wait and see situation.

That is so weird. I had thought that it was down already.

Thanks for the information

As the PPs have said, it seems like the Matterhorn is another one of those refurbs with dates that change by the week. Originally, it was listed on the Disneyland Information Automated Message as being closed from 8/25 through 11/13. Then the message was updated to say that it would be refurbed from 8/25 to 11/13 and later in the same message it would be refurbed from 9/22-9/24 (which was kind of weird because 9/22-9/24 is included in 8/25-11/13). The most recent version of the message only has the 9/22-9/24 listed. So at this point, it's anyone's guess what is going to happen with Matterhorn. It might only be down for three days in September, it might go down in August through mid-November, or it might be some other dates entirely.

Since I am going over Labor Day weekend, and probably won't be back for years, I am hoping it doesn't close!!

It's as certain as it's going to get:

It desperately needs a refurb, and probably longer than three days. Last weekend, the bobsleds were filthy, and the padded handrails were filthy and sticky. I think the bigger splash that happens at the end now (one ride last weekend a wave came up over the heads of our entire train!) is making the padding on the handrails degrade. Lots of bobsleds have tape wrapped around the handrails, and others have disgusting sticky residue left from the same tape being removed. I rode several times and holding on was always totally gross.
