Got to ride this one with everyone in my family now over 42 inches. First of all, a 55 minute wait in 90+ heat was not fun. The family was not amused after that. We did the left side which seemed to be a tad faster than I remember the right side. Also, I leaned forward and used my arms to hold steady. Still, it was painful for this 40yo neck.

The cool side!?!?! The Yeti! That dude was genuinely scary going past him at fast speeds. It really did make for a better experience. But Disney needs to do what they did with Space MT....gut it and put in a track worth hitting. Just my opinion though.

We had a very short wait when we went there for our first ride on our MM day. By the time we had finished our ride and taken some photo pass pictures the line was already around the mountain.

I'm so excited to do this one! We have two Magic Mornings while we are there. Is the magic morning at 7 or 8 right now. Anyone know??

I think MM is at 7 now since the parks open at 8.

Lines are short if you do it first thing. Otherwise, you could go single-rider if everyone in your party is old enough, or you could wait in the super long line. For those waiting 90+ minutes, get a large drink beforehand and grab one of those misting fans. You won't regret it when it gets super hot. And it is worth it. The heat is the worst part, but if you can combat that, you're good to go. Oh, and get a phone app like Heads Up so you can play games with your family while you wait. I've seen a lot of people do that lately.

Maybe next time do SRL?
I know the wait there varies, but....butt? Lol. I've so far not waited more than 10 to 15 minutes for it. It wasn't June though. Still I have a hard time believing even in June, SRL would be as long as you had experieced in standby. :faint:

I'm disappointed they didn't fix the seats or the track. We'll probably go on it once or twice during a 5 day trip but that's the limit.

I also think it was painful, but it was not a long-lasting pain, more like a just-for-fun-pain, nothing anyone needs to worry about except one has problems with the back

it was a pain for me to get out of the car with my long legs, I felt like I need a gantry crane to get out because my legs played Tetris while riding the coaster

we had to wait about 40 minutes, so not too bad, but the queue snakes around the mountain and we were wondering why they do not have an indoor queue. Something they forgot to plan when the ride was built. I liked the safety-announcements with exaggerated German accent, so weird.

My first day at the parks is a Tuesday, so I'll be using MM to get there and have it be the FIRST thing I ride on our trip! :earsboy:

The wait sounds yucky! What time of day did you go?

We got in line around 1pm. But the line was already that long at 11am when we were over there to grab a FP for Space Mt. And we don't do Single Rider because we're a family! What good is riding something if it's not together? Anyway. My 3yo was begging to ride it and she's finally 42 inches. Then we rode it and she said she never wanted to do it again. "That monster is scary!"

I liked the safety-announcements with exaggerated German accent, so weird.

I know! It so terribly awful. But charming at the same time. Probably would've been more charming had I not just waited for about an hour.

We rode it on the 24 hour day and used the SRL, which was waaay shorter then the regular line. Even though my husband and I had said we would not ride it again until they fixed how painful it is, we wanted to see the new effects. The effects were cool but both my DH and DS said their hips hurt really bad afterward. My 12-yr-old son, who had always loved this ride, said he didn't want to ride it anymore.

BTW, sorry GatorChris, but we always ride SRL when the lines are long at the parks. It is just my DH, DS, and myself and a lot of times we end up in the same car (or at least 2 of us) and we have designated places to meet after the ride. Our son is older though and it is all about the rides for him and we still have plenty of family time together. We still have to wait in line together, just not as long!

The last time I was in the Single Rider line, the CM loading was way too efficient at finding the right sized groups so the SRL never moved. I am pretty sure I would have waited the same amount of time in the standby line. I was watching the SRL on the left side, and it looked like three full lines were loaded before I finally got on in the right side.

Anyway, I love the changes, and while it still wasn't the most pleasant ride experience, I still want to go again. FWIW, the right side seemed less bumpy to me.

The Matterhorn is rough due to its age, but I've definitely ridden a much worse roller coaster- Thunder Express at Dollywood (which has been gone for some time) bruised BOTH of my shins pretty bad when I was a kid.

The Matterhorn is my favorite ride at DLR, tbh, even though I think Space Mountain is better. I'm not sure if that makes sense, lol.

I haven't been on Space Mountain. Due to not knowing if it might make me sick. Lol.

Why is it you may report your own self but can't like yourself? Lol

Oh, I LOVE Space Mountain, BUT I am disoriented for just a bit when I first get off, haha. I find that if you find it too disorienting when riding, just close your eyes for a bit. I've had to do that a couple of times, tbh!

:tink:Finally rode Matterhorn!! Bumpier than I remembered, but still fun! Love all the new effects!! It had broken down when we joined the line, but we were in shade ( I even let two groups move ahead of me so I could continue to wait in shade). We still only waited about 25/30 minutes!

My son and I rode Matterhorn last week and never waited more than 15 minutes in the Single Rider Line. If they would just make the seat backs and seat bottom softer, it would be so much better. I love the ride, but it hurts!!

Well like that classic song goes....

Love the hair man.... Peace out..... :hippie:

Enjoy! This is the non uncomfy version. Lol

I rode MH yesterday single rider and ended up on the left side. It was very bumpy and faster than I remember. It was 2013 when I last rode MH and then I was on the right side and my feeling was that it wasn't as bumpy or fast as what I experienced yesterday.

I do have to agree with the other posters who loved the new yeti. It was awesome!
