I'm thinking that, like the article says, if the new bobsleds are a tight squeeze for anyone over 6' feet tall and over 200 pounds, it would be impossible for my 6'5" hubby to fold himself into them. But what will be will be.....although so many guys are over 6' tall.....I find the confines of the new bobsleds perplexing in today's world of bigger, taller people. I mean the average height for a man is approx. 5'10". Six feet tall is only 2 more inches over average.
It sounds like most of you arent very tall, I am 6"2 and heard that the new sleds may make it hard for tall or big people to ride. I am a little worried about that, I love the Matterhorn and it would really suck to not be able to go on it again.
I really hope that they only have to close one side at a time when the install the new bobsleds. Fingers crossed anyway.![]()
Going to DL June 10th. Hope this ride is opened by then. Heard only good things about this ride. First trip to Disneyland with my daughter and can't wait for a fun vacation!!!![]()
While talking to a cast member last week, she confirmed it will go down for awhile. Because it's not that safe, honestly. You can apparently undo your seatbelt at any point, thus they have to replace or update this system.
Over here in WDW, Splash Mountain went down for a while to add lap bars. Made me sad. :/
Some day soon it will be clear I suppose. Right now I can see dates posted to July 13 but when I click on July 11 or after it shows dates in May. Last night I could not even see dates after July 9. I am using Internet Explorer 8.That is really strange Hydroguy. I've been able to see up until July 13th for a few days now and it shows the ride is down...![]()
Why is it not safe because you can undo your seat belt? To be honest you don't even need a seat belt. If you are sitting in your seat there is no way the ride can throw you out, it simply isn't fast enough, nor are there any drops that would make you leave the sled if you are sitting down.
I've ridden the ride many times not belted in and was never in danger of leaving the sled.
