Last summer, we did Matterhorn at Rope Drop on an early 7:00 am Magic Morning day. Only one side of the ride was open (Tomorrowland side), and our wait was 35 minutes.

I've been doing some checking of wait times during the past month or so, and waits appear to be lower at Rope Drop (10-15 minute range) on non-MM days than on Magic Morning days (25-35 minute range).

Is it common for only side to be open during the early Magic Morning hour, but for both sides to be open at Rope Drop on non-MM days?

I'm thinking that we might be better off skipping Magic Morning and doing Matterhorn on a non-MM day. (Single-rider lane isn't an option for us.)

I suggest you use MM or rope drop to get on those rides that don't offer single rider options or to collect a fast past for those rides that always seem to have long lines.

The linr for the Matterhorn moves pretty fast, in my opinion. And when the app and sign said 30 minutes, we got on in 20. Also, if you have a party of 2, they are always looking for them and we skipped 2 'switchbacks' in line because we listened and were in the right place at the right time! Have fun! Make sure to try both sides, my favorite is the 'Tomorrowland' side!

We've done Matterhorn on a Magic Morning and the line was about 25-30 minutes. I thought it was a waste. Next time I would do Fantasyland or Tomorrowland first, then go to Matterhorn at park opening. Or single rider line.
