Math not adding up on new 4 for 3 deal....

You might be a little confused on the tickets. For the deal, you get 3 days free with the minimum purchase of 4 days. Hoppers are a flat fee (not based on number of days) and there is no discount on that, but you still should get 3 free days with 7-10 day ticket purchase for a whopping $9 per ticket discount.

boy must been asleep to miss that one.

only went with one day ticket - getting an annual pass - so that was a big mistake on my part

Woo- Hoo, I'm gonna get me a...popcorn and a soda???

But hey, it’s a HUGE deal. The biggest deal they’ve had in a long time. :rolleyes: {{Sorry, Mary, I love Mouse Savers (LOVE :lovestruc ), but you really didn't call this one right. Got our hopes way up for what should have just been normal hopes.}}

It was a better deal in 2003 at the prior ticket structure. Other than that, not much better than the AP discount for Jan-Feb. But, hey, a discount is a discount. And for those that qualify for the $200 discount (not us), it’s a nice bonus.

All I can say is if you have a larger family 4-5+, at least that $9 adds up!

got pop
2 weekdays $105 per night (standard room) w/o tax
2 weekend $115 per night (standard rooom) w/o tax
4 day pass $233.24 w/tax

it should be $728.24 (w/tax) - Disney is saying $799.43

so don't know what is going on.

Yeah, I agree with you here. Even if they priced a hopper for you, it wouldn't be that high. I get your $728.24 to the penny.

never buy trip insurance. (this is pricing before the trip insurance is even added)

the moderates look correct

$195 * 2 + $205*2 - rooms
$233.24

I got $1,133.24

disney is saying $1,111.84 -- so the moderates are a good deal.

don't know why the values are overpriced - sounds like I need to call Disney.

OK, this just really bugs me because there is no way the Poly ever could have been $385 per night in that time period. Something is off somewhere. But anyhow, I ran the numbers. I used the Poly since that is what was first mentioned.

OK, I’m not sure 100% of your details, but this is what I get when I price the trip. This matches the published rates since last August.

March 21- March 28
Poly Garden view (I didn't know which view, but that was what was closest to your numbers)
  • Sat, Mar 21 $ 505.00
  • Sun, Mar 22 $ 485.00
  • Mon, Mar 23 $ 485.00
  • Tue, Mar 24 $ 485.00
  • Wed, Mar 25 $ 485.00
  • Thu, Mar 26 $ 485.00
  • Fri, Mar 27 $ 505.00
Total w/ tax $3864.36

I’m going to assume no dining. Without know exactly how many tickets, what options, and the ages of the people needing tickets, I have to guess. I’m going to guess 2 adults, 1 junior, 1 child. I’m also going to assume hoppers. Regular price this would be $1147.01 Grand total 5011.37

Running this as a package with no discount I get $5015.95 I can’t figure out why there would be a 4.58 difference, but it could be a math error on my part. Running this with the 4/3 deal I get $3295.74 If I subtract out the tickets cost, I get $2187.06 This would be the cost of the room only under the package to compare to the $3864.36 Again, by room only I get for 4 nights at the lower rates $2182, which is $6.06 below the package cost. Again, probably a math error on my part, but it’s in the guests favor. Now, if I run it with the higher nights factored in (since generally the lowest nights are discounted), I get $2228. This is $46 above the room only rate. Now, looking at the average rate per night, it’s $552.05 ($490.71 w/o tax) with tax or $2208.20. Now, this is a little above the rate I get when I take out the ticket cost--$21.14. Again, a win with the guest. That might also be the tax rate since I included it for all 7 days.

Somehow, I just don’t see the fuzzy math.

No gift cards included in this scenario since it has nothing to do with the numbers.

You are right Luvamouse, I did forget to metion it was two adults for the AKL deal, thanks for pointing that out and I am sorry for the confusion on that one.
My point in all of this is that the numbers don't bear out a true 4/3 deal when you starting doing the math. The rates seem to have been increased some around the time of the 4/3 announcement.

had the wrong figures for mind.

it works too!

thanks for making me realize that the pay for 4 get 7 nights - works on the tickets too.

will definitely be changing mind.

All I can tell you is what I am seeing. I have a second deal, saved the same way as the first ... AKL March 21 through March 28, standard view, 8 day Park hopper passes (no water park), no flight, no ground and magic your way plus dining. Pre 4/3 offer is $4040.70, post 4/3 $4001.36. Break it down ... the room prices were jacked up when they offered the 4/3. Again, par for the course. I'm not saying it is a ripoff, a discount is a discount, but the saving is not what it is touted as being no matter HOW you slice it.

:confused3 Not sure if you are saying that your price for the buy 4 get 3 free deal is $4001.36:confused3 That is the price before the deal. AKL 3/21-3/28 2 adults standard view 8 day hoppers plus regular dining plan.

The price with the buy 4 get 3 free with your exact details as mentioned above is $2179.20. Why you keep saying Disney has jacked up prices is beyond me....this is a great deal:goodvibes

We are saving over $1200.00 on our April (regular season) trip at GF.
Our deal shows exactly a buy 4 get 3 free discount.

You might want to go back to the site and check your numbers. Make sure when you are requesting a quote for the deal, you click on the link for the b4g3 offer.

I had a similiar issue with my package. If I booked straight without the " promo it priced out at $1984 for 4 nights, dinning and Tix, but the package price was $2300? HuH? I kept being told the pricing was correct. Hello- where is the savings? I kept calling and kept being passed around, disconnected, etc. but kept calling back. Today, I did get several call backs from Guest Services. They told me there is something off with the pricing and that it will be taken care of, but that it would take some time to work with the process- whatever that means. Anyhow, I was told that Guest Services would contact me by Wed. of this week to resolve. I would recommend anyone else having this problem, call and continue to ask to speak to someone that can assist you. There is something wrong with their pricing model!!!

No need for an apology-- incorrect prices can lead us to leave out important info ;) So here's the thing, I get $4001.36 when I do it without the 4/3 deal. Minus $1158.40 for 7 nights of dining and 8 day hoppers and you get $2842.96- That is an avg of $406.14/ night for the room. This is the exact price you believed was with the offer!

Now, I did it being sure to hit the 4/3 offer link on the WDW page...$2739.06!!! Standard room at AKL, 8 day plain hoppers, Magic Your Way with Dining. Minus the $$559.86 for dining, and the $579.36 for 5 day hoppers (since you wanted 1 extra day...) and you get...$1599.84 for rooms. 4 nights @ $399.96 inc. tax. (2 Adults, 8 day hoppers, MArch 21-28 for 7 nights, Magic Your Way with Dining-- just triple checked.)

So here's the thing-- have you booked one of these yet? If yes-- book again on WDW and cancel both! If not, go to WDW site and book what you want, it's still there. It looks like somewhere, something was input wrong, because I just did this and the rooms are there at a true 4/3 price. Mickdeb came up with the same info above...

Please tell us you get it booked at the correct price!! Good luck!

Was thinking of doing the new deal 4/3, but after reading this posts it makes me confused and wondering:confused3 .
Could someone be so sweet to add this up for me:)
2 adults at value resort ....... March 15-22 ....7 day park hopper
no insurance,no dining

Thanks

I now see the error of my way. Thank you all for straightening me out.:worship:

I have 7 days BWV 1-bedroom with 8 day tickets for 3 adults May 11-18 - total package $3007.62. I just priced out the room separately - $510/night = 2040 (including tax) and tickets are 738.06 (including tax) for a total of 2778.06. The discrepancy is 229.56 I believe. What gives? :sad2:

Nevermind. Mine is correct. Tax was not included on the room in the above calculation. :thumbsup2
