While I do enjoy matching shirts for one or two days, on our last trip my girlfriend insisted on and made all of us (9 people) a different matching shirt for each day. Dh and dd was okay with it but ds wore a hoodie everyday OVER the shirt!

Yep, sounds like my sister in law.

We have a "girls trip" (4 of us) in December and we will be wearing matching shirts for 9 days! :teeth:

I think it's cute, but DH won't go for it. So, this time around I bought matching Minnie Mouse shirts for me and DD(12). And my sons have matching Mickey shirts. Just for 2 days of our 7 day trip - we plan to "match" on Magic Kingdom days :)

I voted cute, but only if each shirt is a little bit different like the photos of the really creative and adorable shirts some of the PPs posted.

I believe it's lack of creativity that makes something lame.

I didn't read through the whole thread so if something similar was mentioned, I apologize!

Same here.

I'm not a huge fan of them for my family, but that's because I would have to make them! My husband and son actually quite like them, REALLY like them as a matter of fact, but aren't willing to do the work at all.

So we don't wear them.

One year I did order some buttons, like the "Birthday" buttons, but with info about our trip. LIke what you would put on a shirt, but in button form. I actually liked THAT. But I don't have photoshop, etc, so I asked DISigners to make things, and then it just didn't fill the button like it would have done if they'd known they were making it for a button, so it was the design in a little frame...just not perfect.

I believe it's lack of creativity that makes something lame.

That's why it's best I don't do them. :)

Two further thoughts!

If you're going to wear matching shirts, do NOT be surprised if people talk to you about them! You're out there, very obvious, and telling everyone your family name (sometimes), so seriously, you're going to get noticed. Big huge family group at Seaworld the other week acted all weird when I said "oh you were at the dolphin show earlier", like I wasn't going to notice neon ORANGE shirts with "x family reunion" on them? And then when I talked with them about the shirts they were all bashful.

If you're going to wear them, own it.

AND if you're not doing matchy shirts, take a digital picture of each child in your party separately every morning (or after a clothing change). That way if someone gets separated you can easily show them exactly what they are wearing.

Just completed a total of 80, yes 80 shirts!! We are 3 generations traveling together for 10 days, and Disney is the only place I can get my dh to go along with dressing alike. We may look lame, but we get a lot of cool comments from the cast members. They make for some really fun pictures and we love to look back and laugh at ourselves. Our days are so busy and stressful, with work, schooling, extra activities, that Disney is our chance to let loose. We can act goofy and look lame and it just doesn't matter.

I'm going with 'kinda lame, but pretty cute' :)

I am currently working on ones for November. It's me, my mom and my son who is 2. They won't be 100% matching but they will be 'matchy, matchy' and I'm so excited! I'm surprising my mom with them! My son will also have his own 'I'm going to disney world shirt for the plane :)

As for the shirts not 'looking good' on women- check out your michaels crafts. they have 'women's cut t-shirts for under 5 bucks. Just bought a bunch for 3.99 last week! The 'manly/kid' cuts were only 2.99! Great deal!

In all of our trips we've done it twice. Once we each had a shirt with a dwarf on it for all 7 adults in our party while my one year old niece was dressed as Snow White. Those were worn to MNSSHP. Last year, we had 3 of us that all had bought the same shirt from Shirt Woot, so we wore them to the F&W Festival one day. The CMs got a kick out of them and it looks great in our picture from dinner at Akershus that evening. So for me cute, but only if it's not overdone.

I voted cute.

We just got back Sunday from our trip. We wore a matching shirt each day but we were only at Disney one day. I made all of the shirts

Tuesday--Magic Kingdom~~Mickey head
Wednesday--Sea World~~Dolphin tail
Thursday--LegoLand~~Lego blocks
Friday-- Discovery Cove~~Dolphin tail
Saturday--Beach in Clearwater & visiting Winter~~ Dolphin tail

As you can see we re-wore the Dolphin shirt but no one but us knew it. We got TONS of compliments and it made it easier to find someone if we got separated.

When we go back we will be doing more than one day at Disney so we might not be matching then. But then again there is so many things that you could put on the shirts that would match but not be the same.
