Matching shirts...cute or dumb?

Not only do I, a 39 year old MALE, endorse matching shirts, I design them! Here's what me and the Mrs. wore on our may-june adults only trip, designed by moi:

Where did you get your shirts printed at?

DH is not a matching shirt type of person but he does it since our family enjoys doing it. I will admit that when you are traveling with a group of 10 that it does make it easy to keep up with one another.

I always make a couple of matching T's for us each trip. This year we are doing a Grand Gathering and I would LOVE to make them for us all. But my brother and father won't wear them. Oh well at least my DH is a GOOD sport. He puts it on w/ out complaint.

Thumbs up to your husband!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2 Nothing like a classic "Killers" T-shirt!!!!! Maybe a matching Iron Maiden t-shirt day!!!:cool1:

Right now I have or DVR filled with Disney World shows and 2 Iron Maiden concerts...:woohoo:

My dh wants to have the photo shoot done at Poly when we go and he wants all of us to wear concert t-shirts. Of course with each of our favorite groups so they would not be matching.

A group of ten is going in October. I had semi-matching shirts made at Disney.com. The guys have Mickey and their name and the gals have Minnie and their name. They are on Navy Polos. We will ALL wear them to 'Ohanas and have a group pic made.

I have been a fan of matching tees for a long time. When I went with one or two other people we always had at least one day of matching tees. One year, a friend went with me who had never been, and it was at Christmas. Thank Goodness, we had bought matching YELLOW tees at the resort to wear that day, because I lost her at the Osbourne Christmas lights back when it was on the Back Lot at MGM. Her Mom would have Killed me had I lost her, and the sea of RED made it easier to find a YELLOW shirt!

:scared1::woohoo::scared1:

Is getting lost really an issue when everyone has cell phones? A shirt with your name on it? That's not something I'd do either.

My kids do not have cell phones.

What you do doesn't matter a hill of beans to me so I am honestly scratching my head why you care what other people put on their shirts. Other than just to make provocative, unnecessary criticisms, of course.

I have a cell phone but since we are from Canada we don't use them. I don't want to pay $4.00 a minute. So basically that's why we don't bring them. As for a shirt with their name on it is cute for a child IMO. Also since you want to bring up about someone getting lost....well I think personally that it would be useful to a CM when I tell them...yes my daughter was wearing a Tye-dye pink shirt and it had her name on the front with big Disney pictures on it. Just like ours. We had all matching shirts.

Overall please don't assume that everyone has cell phones. ;)

The name of the Thread asks whether they are cute or dumb. Are only pro-shirt people are supposed to comment?

My children (ages 9, 6 and 3) don't have cell phones. It only takes a minute in a crowd to lose a child. :confused3

I do agree, this thread is titled Matching shirts ... cute or dumb? All opinions (in a non-abrasive and non-purposely offensive manner) are welcome. Everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it. :flower3:

Do we have a countdown when we think this thread will be closed by the Moderators? They don't like these types of threads. It's a lose, lose situation. :rolleyes1

I know everyone doesn't have a cell phone, I was responding to post #185 which I believe was referencing the possibility of adults seperating. I understand the safety factor for young children. Adults, on the other hand...

DD designs a shirt for every trip. We've even made them for Disboard meets on our cruises. We love them.

I love matching t-shirts and enjoy seeing other family wearing them also.
This year I made 32 t-shirts all matching. We will wear a different color each day.

As I stated earlier here; I'm not a fan of matching kids in everyday life HOWEVER I thinks it's cute in Disney!!! I am really enjoying this thread, I am amazed at how creative so many of you are:worship: I think if I were able to make a really nice shirt I would match my boys (I am not at all creative and wouldn't know where to begin:confused:). I would never get DH to go for it though. I can get him to wear the same color but not the same shirt.
I hope this thread continues I want to see more home made beauties:)

Dh and I don't have matching shirts but we only wear Disney shirts when at WDW and I will fix it so one day we will both wear Mickey shirts or he'll wear Mickey and I'll wear Minnie, I think it's fun and DH is a sweetheart to just go along with it!!

We haven't done the matching shirts thing yet...(only our boys have matched each other), but for our upcoming trip w/26 people we will be doing the matching shirts. At least for a couple of days. It should help us keep up w/everyone. The men have already vetoed the idea of pink...shocker:confused3 But they don't realize they're for sure going to match.

We tested the matching shirt thing on our girls trip to Kansas City last month and were very pleased w/the results. Everyone stopped us everywhere we went to see why we were wearing the shirts. It was fun! I think the lone teenager in our group was cringing all day, but she managed to live through it..:rotfl:

In my opinion, it's totally up to you...I am a to each his own kinda girl and to be honest, my family has never done it before. However, this may be our first year! My daughter turns 6 the day after we arrive for our family Disney trip and I am getting her a special shirt and I may buy some for the rest of us! Listen, if you cannot have fun at Disney, where can you>>

BTW, I always tell my kids that they can be as silly as they want at Disney, because everyone's a kid at Disney!:)
