We are going to have a big group of people, so we want to wear matching colors. We did this last time and not only does this make it easy to find everyone, but it also makes pictures look great! My question is what color is best for each park? For example, last time we wore tans and browns at AK, which looked cool, but we blended in too much.
Our days are:
MGM/Epcot
MK
Park hop
AK
Epcot
MGM (ESPN the weekend)

Some colors that we want to use are- red, orange, green, white shirts and jeans, and blue. Which color do you think would work best for each day????

Also, we have a few people in our group who really don't want to match, so we wanted to come up with something funny to write on their shirts about how they were forced to wear them. Any ideas????

thanks!

We love matching shirts too!!

DH, DD12, DS8, & I wear matching Disney shirts every day of our WDW trips...and we usually go for 7-9 days at a time (we have a lot of matching sets).

You are right that it makes it much easier to find each other that way AND your pictures will look great!!

I don't recommend white shirts. Those will not stand out in the crowd.

A few years ago, before we had all of our matching Disney shirts, I made tie-dyed shirts for all of us. Those looked great and were easy to pick out in a crowd.

We also wear matching shorts each day too...usually black, but sometimes navy blue.

Oh I just love the matching shirts we only did it one day last year but it looked so good in the pics! This year Im going to have matching shirts most days! Id like to make some of them have you guys ever made them? Id like them to not look hand made:rotfl2: so I was wondering if you can get lil patches and stuff any where?

As far as what colors for what park Target had some nice blue shirts the other day between an aqua and a water blue I almost picked them up but didnt have the right sizes.

I also love red or white and looking up at some of my pics on the wall belive it or no the gray sweat shirts look great they dont interfear with the charicters at all!
Goood luck with your shirts!

I was thinking of making matching shirts too. I picture up some iron ons that are disney related from Target when they went on clearance. Im going to play around with the colors......michaels has them 5 for $10 most weeks!

Last year for my family, I made 2 matching sets of the Mickey swirl head shirts....I got the directions from the CREATIVE DESIGNS board. They came out great!!

**If you do a search for "swirl head", the directions will come up, I just tried it.

My family wore matching/coordinating shirts for each day of our trip this past Sept. DH grumped about it at first, but agreed the pics looked great! We are going in Dec. with 2 other families... working now on how to convince them we should do the same- or at least same shirt/dif. colors for each family.

I made a few, but got the most of them at the Disney Store or at Disney Shopping (all on sale!) Here is a pic of my favorite shirts- the kids wore them on the flight down and in the MK on our first night. (Sorry the image is soooo big- I kept trying to reduce it, but just couldn't do it :confused3

Hey, we saw a family wearing red Incredible t shirts at MGM this December! It looked really cool and made everyone turn their head! :)

My family all had "sky blue" disney t-shirts with a differnet mickey face on the front along with our names that I ordered thru Zazzle.com. ( it was the only color that grandpa would wear!)
Also, if you can get to a Disney Store or outlet before you go, you can get t-shirts for $10 and under.
I love matching shirts, you're always bound to get a compliment:yay:

A few years ago my sister and I made matching Tie-Dyed t's for our families. We used purple and royal blue. They came out cool and there was no mistaking us. Our husband's weren't keen on the idea, but went along as long as they wore "manly" looking shirts so we bought them the Sleeveless muscle T's. I prefer tanks and my sister likes the classic t's. The kids all had the same type of shirts. Even if you don't wear the same style of shirt as long as the colors are enough to stand out, I think the matching color idea is awesome.
The last time we went, i put my daughters in matching clothes. We had a mishap last year where my oldest wandered off to look at plush and I panicked and went blank. I couldn't remember what she was wearing so i looked down at my other daughter and pointed to her and told them she was wearing the same thing. It was helpful. I always wear the same color, although not the same style. It really makes it much easier to find each other.

We've worn matching shirts for our past 2 trips to WDW, and I loved it! Our pics looked so good! (And it made getting ready in the mornings so much easier!)

Some colors that we want to use are- red, orange, green, white shirts and jeans, and blue. Which color do you think would work best for each day????

For whatever reason, I think of MGM as a "red" park (maybe because of the Chinese Theater? :confused3 ), AK as an "orange" park (???, a "reservation", nature-y type color, maybe?), MK as "blue", "green", or "yellow" (kelly-green & yellow are happy colors), & EPCOT as "green" or "blue" (the Living Seas?).

So, if I were you, maybe - -

MGM/EPCOT - red
MK - green
Park Hop - yellow?
AK - orange
EPCOT - blue
MGM (ESPN weekend) - white shirts & jeans?

As an example, following is what we wore last year in the specific parks - -

Arrival Afternoon/Evening, MK - Old Navy flag t-shirts w/ navy blue shorts

Day #1, MGM full day - "The Incredibles" red t-shirts w/ khaki shorts
(the prior year, we wore plain red t-shirts on our MGM day)

Day #2, MK full day - yellow t-shirts w/ denim shorts
(the prior year, we wore non-matching Disney character t-shirts on our MK day)

Day #3, EPCOT full day - kelly-green t-shirts w/ khaki shorts
(the prior year, we wore blue shirts on our EPCOT day)

Day #4, MK 1/2 day - DH & I wore white t-shirts w/ navy blue shorts; DS wore a light blue t-shirt w/ yellow & white stripes w/ navy blue shorts; & DD wore a Cinderella t-shirt that was light blue w/ yellow & white accents w/ navy blue shorts

Day #5, AK full day - orange t-shirts; DH & I wore "crayon" blue shorts, & DD & DS had matching "crayon" blue shorts that had an animal print on them

Day #5, EPCOT evening - DD (Hawaiian sundress) & DS (Hawaiian shirt w/ army green shorts) wore matching "Hawaiian" army-green & peach outfits from Gymboree, & DH & I wore coordinating army green & peach outfits

Day #6, MK/EPCOT day - crayon-blue t-shirts w/ khaki shorts

Day #6, MK evening - coordinating red, white, & blue shirts w/ denim shorts for DH & DS & denim skorts for me & DD

Departure Day, MK & DTD - matching Disney t-shirts & denim shorts

For what to say on the shirts of those who don't want to match - "Color Me Matched." or "I Came, I Saw, I Matched. Happy?" or "Match Me If You Can." or "Here's Grumpy! (And I match too.):rolleyes1

Hope this helps! :)
