Were building a master bedroom and master bath ,the bathroom will be 10x16,i think its too big but she wants room this time.I just remodeled our main bathroom which is small(disney theme of course)still have to finish stenciling the micky border up top.

Ok im putting in an american standard whirpool corner tub, double sink corian vanity top,a toilet of course, linen closet, but i want to do something different for the shower stall, she wants a fiberglass insert but im leaning to do a complete ceramic tile shower from top to bottom with jets.I figured the corner tub will be tiled around it and a tiled step down and floor will be tiled too i should incorperate the shower stall right into it. Now both the bathroom and the bedroom will be cathedral ceilings too with skylights.
She thinks itll be too much tile and itll give you that cold feeling in there. But i always wanted a nice shower to come home from work and be able to relax in .So what do you think i should go with fiberglass or tile. And its not money the tile versus the insert will be the same amount and i do all my own labor.

instead of ceramic tile, you might look into glass blocks, I've done a few showers out of those that are really neat

Tile. Fiberglass is boring and very common. For a true custom look, tile is the way to go. It is a bathroom, so tile is allowed everywhere.

The glass blocks is another idea, thanks
jay i too am leaning towards tile ,i just like the look of tile, almost all of our house is tiled besides the hardwood in the living room and the master bedroom will be carpet.

I like the idea of glass block. I would also consider two shower heads in the shower stall. My cousin recently did a shower with a waterfall and it looks heavenly to shower in.

Oh in that size bath, definitely tile! They make such gorgeous ones now, very warm in tone and just beautiful!

Another vote for tile.

And when you're done grouting and sealing, can you come fix mine because we screwed that part up. Okay, thanks!:cool1:

By the way, am I the only one who can't view your webshots stuff? I click the link and get an error.

tile, just do it in a warm, deep (but not dark)color that won't give a washed out or cold look when a lot of it is used. You could also do the "wall" sides with tile, and any open sides with the glass blocks. Many of the designer bathrooms now have huge shower with the shower heads set far enough away form the opening that no shower door or curtain is needed.

Definitely tile. Also, check out the total body showers that have jets at different angles. Also, a seat would be great, recessed right into the shower itself.
