Massive Overhaul of I-4 Through Orlando Started

Exit 67 is Epcot Center Blvd. Take that exit to World Drive (first exit after Epcot). That will take you to the toll booth for the Magic Kingdom and from there, stay right, turn left on to Seven Seas Dr at Wilderness Lodge, pass the Poly and then a right onto Floridian Way to get to SOG.

Unless you get off that for DTD, you will not see any of the DTD construction.

An update, currently there is no real road snarling construction yet, but more construction is starting to happen.

Clearing and dirt movement for the new bridge over I-4 from Premium Outlet Malls (North end of I-Drive) to Universal's Entrance/Major Blvd. is starting, this will be the start of the new lanes as well. But nothing blocked off on I-4 itself yet.

There is grading going near Michigan Avenues into downtown and by the Ivanhoe exit they just set up a huge crane. Westbound near fairbanks they put up some orange barrels, and They are tearing down the big mound of dirt near Maitland, and eastbound evenings from 9:30 - 5 they are actually closing the right lane near there.

Not really bad enough to avoid yet, but the work is starting to pop up.

Hi all! We are hitting the road tomorrow afternoon from MA, and I have a quick question. We are staying at Shades of Green, across the street from the Poly. I'm not sure why, but my
AAA TripTik, is telling me to take exit 67 off I-4, which I believe is the Epcot/ DTD exit. After reading about the traffic congestion / construction near DTD, I really would rather avoid this area entirely. That said, would it make more sense to take 64B, since Shades is in the MK resort area? We're getting down to the wire and now I'm freaking out about small details.:scared:

So sorry I did not see this Tuesday and hope you did not stress out on your drive! I don't think you had anything to worry about and your alternate route would have been just fine if needed. Post something like this in the Transportation thread,,, more people and faster response there!

I will be following this thread for any updates. We are coming down from GA in Sept. and this will be our first time driving down.

Thank you so much for all the information in this thread. We were at Disney over Easter and purchased the Sun Pass before we left. We did not use it going into Disney since we arrived later in the evening but it saved us HOURS trying to get out of the Orlando area going home by taking 417 when I-4 was at a standstill!!
