Mass Cleaning before leaving...

Ok, we are leaving the day after tomorrow. I've almost got all the laundry done, got the bed sheets changed, changing the water in the fish tank today, guinee pig cage cleaned, all dirty dishes washed, everything dusted...gotta clean the bathroom today....what else?? Am I forgetting anything?? I love to come home to a clean house after vacation. We always need a vacation from the vacation! This way if everything is done I can just crash when we get home. I'm gonna really work on doing my laundry while we are down there so all the clothes will be clean when we get home. Any other tips for me??

you sound like me - that is what i am doing this week b4 we leave on sat. - tomorrow i am cleaning the carpets!!! the laundry pile does not seem to be going down - i am spending more time on the dis boards then anything else - ok back to cleaning - glad i am not the only one who does this b4 they leave - have a wonderful trip.

I'm doing the same thing, we leave on May 1. It feels like I'm missing something also. I read on another thread to put chlorine tablets on a plate in the bathrooms so you don't come home to stale air, never have done it but I hope it works we'll be gone for 12 days. I could put money on the fact that I know I'll be vacuuming while the fams in the van waiting to go to the airport. Have a great trip!

Ya, my final thing is vacuuming and making the beds...which I can't do till everyone has left the house. What about the Glade Plug-ins for fresh air, they don't last all that long but if you put a new refill in the day you leave that might work. Thanks...you all have a great trip too...we'll all be there at the same time!

You may not want to do the plug in thing. I just read an article where they are causing fires. The plastic gets so hot and then they like blow up with the perfume inside.

I do that, too... even if it is just a trip up to Baltimore.

I also freeze some meals and have my fridge stocked a little with some food that lasts long so we don't need to make a grocery run so soon.

I'm planning on doing a good cleaning tomorrow. We leave on Friday and if I clean any earlier than that it will just get messy again. I've already scrubbed the tubs and changed the bed sheets, everything else is just waiting till closer to time. I can't wait!!

Before you leave dump any milk and get rid of food that will rot like lunch meats, don't want to come home to that.

Ooooohhhhh, ya lunch meats...never thought of them! The milk in the fridge is almost gone so that'll be gone by Thurday. Gotta dump those leftovers after tonights meal!

I'm starting my vacation cleaning next week. We leave a week from Thursday. I usually start in the bedrooms and work my way out to the kitchen. If I start the other way around I end up cleaning the kitchen 10 times before we leave.
Don't forget to water any plants before you leave.
