Hello, so I don't mean to offend anyone, but I don't like masks/generally believe they're mostly useless. BUT I will wear them if I am required to. Me and some friends have a trip upcoming in a few days and I'd like to be prepared with how strict the workers are. Since Florida easily hits 90 degrees, wearing a mask is a bit hard. So, if I were to take my mask down for a second for a sip of water, or maybe just a quick breath, would the workers harass us over it? Or are they more "chill." Also, genuine question. If people are so scared of this virus... Why risk going to a densely populated area that you know some people won't follow the rules? I mean hey, that's your prerogative but im just curious
Also I heard talk of the mandate being lifted? Anyone have a best guess?

Thank you 😁

Was there for a week in April...I took my mask down constantly to take a sip of beer and pulled it out (not down over my nose) to get additional air. No CM ever said a word to me. I saw some people walking for more than a few seconds with it under their nose and the CM’s told them it had to be above their nose...not in a harassing way just sort of a reminder. The thought of wearing a mask at Disney in the heat sucked but I barely noticed it. Going in July and with the new cdc guidelines (fully vaccinated) hopefully they are a little more lenient. At the very least they should stop making you wear them outdoors. Either way it’s Disney so their playground their rules.

The official rule right now is that you can take your mask off to take a photo outside or be actively eating/drinking while stationary and off to the side. They also have “relaxation stations” where you can sit and have your masks off.
It sounds like this may change and be more relaxed after the big CDC announcement yesterday but until Disney says so, all those rules still apply.

Thank you, that's very helpful 😁

When you say stationary, do you mean only in designated spots? or does this apply to anywhere as long as your socially distanced?

I am with you 10000%! We have a trip in August, 10 days at the Riviera, you think I would be excited (I usually am!) but I’m dreading it with masks in 95 degree weather. Wearing a mask outdoors is beyond ridiculous and is why I canceled our trip last summer. I’ve heard they are super strict! Taking your mask down for a quick sip and putting back up is ok but walking more than 5 steps with your mask down, someone will say something to you. I hope now with this new announcement they relax a bit, at least with the mask outdoors! It’s stupid and pointless!

Yep, anywhere while distanced from others

Stationary, physically distanced and outdoors. Masks must be worn indoors with the exception of when actively eating or drinking in restaurants.

Just pull off the the side and take your mask off while away from others and enjoy your drink and get some air. As long as your not in a store or in line there should be plenty of space to do this.

Well since it was a GENUINE question...

Would it be ok for me to ask why people are so scared of committing arson? How about fraud? How about something not technically illegal, but still in breach of social contract like not tipping? Why are people so scared of not tipping? If people are so scared of wearing a strip of cloth on their face... Why risk going to a densely populated area where you know some people, most importantly the private company said people are paying to visit, will insist that everybody follow the same rules? All pretty obnoxious questions, right?

Perhaps it's not about fear at all and more about the fact that there are rules in place, and following those rules is the right thing to do. Personal responsibility and all that jazz.

Enjoy your trip. Hopefully with the CDC announcement yesterday you'll get good news soon.

Doesn’t have to be designated spots. But does have to be away from foot traffic.

Closing thread, question has been answered.
