Hello!
I've decided that I'd feel as though I've accomplished something with my planning if I were to post it! I don't think I have much planning to do, since it's an "Escape" wedding, but here goes nothing!!!

Our Story....
I met DF (Joe) in college in New Jersey (Mortuary School, to be exact) in January of 1999. We only had 1 class together that semester, but we became somewhat friendly. The next two semesters, we had NO classes together, but still talked when we bumped into one another on campus and that February he helped me get an internship at the funeral home he was working at. The last year of the program has all of the students in that graduating class taking every course together. We basically worked together 4 days a week and the other 3 days, we went to school together from 8 am to 5 pm. That November (after my ending a REALLY bad relationship), we decided to start dating
DF is much older than I am (we're talking decades here) - but that has never mattered to either of us! He's my best friend and college buddy - and is just great!
A little more than 3 years ago, we decided to move to South Florida (DF is originally from NJ, but lived down here YEARS ago before moving back to NJ - the main reason he had to go back to school b/c NJ didn't recognize his FL license - but that's another story!).
We were engaged almost 2 years ago this May - and I can't wait until our wedding :woohoo:

That was a long one....sorry if I bored anyone with the details!!!!!

The Wedding....

The wedding is scheduled for November 9, 2007 at 2:30 PM at Sea Breeze Point. Our planner is Jennifer O'Leary - I've only spoken w/ her once, but she seems very nice!
I'm going to have my 2 sisters as my matron and maid of honor. I am thinking that my 2 nephews will escort me down the aisle - but I'd like to clear that w/ my parents first. I think it would be nicer if they could sit with the few guests we have and watch us walk down.
I am hoping to get reservations at 'Ohana for after the ceremony.....here is the little invitation I am sending out for the "post-wedding dinner":

I think it's absolutely adorable - BIG thanks to Amy from the DISigns board!!!!

At the end of this month, I'm heading up to NJ for my nephew's Communion. The day before, my mom and I are going to David's Bridal to purchase my dress.....I've already been to the one down here to try some on by myself, but my mother really wants to buy my dress, so we're going to go and I guess I'll try a few on, but this is the one I want:

I realized after recently reading Maggie's TR that it's the same one.....excellent taste Maggimus!!! :thumbsup2

I've previously posted my favor idea, but here they are again....
coasters.jpg

It's a coaster set - each "puzzle piece" is a coaster, but when you put it together you get a Mickey trivet!!! I thought it was cute, and the price ($5.99/set) wasn't too bad either!!! I plan on wrapping them up (once I know what colors I'll be using) and I'm really hoping to find a Mickey ribbon to tie around it once it's wrapped....so far, no luck finding anything simple....just one that's too cartoon-y. (If that makes sense?)

I don't have any clue about the BM dresses, it's just my 2 sisters - but my one sister wants to wear a dress that she can use a "regular" bra with.....
I'm hoping that when I go up to NJ this month, we'll pick something out - and then I'll know what colors we'll be using! I do know that I'd like a tea-length dress for them....any suggestions????

That's pretty much it for now......I'm hoping to head up to WDW in May to do a cake tasting (my planner said I could do it, for a price of course ;) )....if/when I do, I'll be sure to post a mini-TR!!! ( I LOVE reading TR's, by the way!!!! I have the feeling that writing one will be just as fun)

Mary I Love your wedding dinner Aloha Invites... So cute... Where did you get the Stitch Image

Isn't he the cutest?!?!?!?! I love the fact that he's got a beverage, as the adults are sure to be enjoying some of those tropical drinks during dinner ;)
I went to the Creative DISign board here and asked for help!!! They are all so nice and very talented!!! Feel free to use it, or PM me if you want the person who did it - she can easily customize it for you!!!

Let me know...anything to help a fellow South Floridian/Dis Bride!!! :bride:

Your invitation is adorable. Amy does great work.

Yes, she does! She's been so helpful!!!
BTW, I've enjoyed reading about your ideas - you're so creative!!!
I hope you're feeling better after your BM issue....we're all here to support you, and if you need a fill-in, I'm only a 3-hour car ride away!!! ;)

Aw thats very sweet, thank you. StephSFL and Purplegirl247 have kindly jumped in and are gonna be my bridesmaids. It's amazing how people you have never really met seem like such great friends. Everyone here is very nice. You will have a blast planning.

BTW are you doing any kind of favors at Ohana's? I found some really cute things at Dollar Tree yesterday. I'm about to post in my planning journal. We are having breakfast the day before the wedding for our families at Ohana's.

We're also sending a more "formal" invitation for the ceremony.....The rest of it isn't too exciting - but here's the graphic that will be on the top (courtesy of another great DISigner!!!!) Instead of the "forever and a day" - it now says "Mary & Joe" - I can't find where I saved that one to though!

I'm also thinking of using this graphic for t-shirts or totes or something.....if I can figure out how to do the iron-on transfer thing  I think it's cute and not too girly....(though I'm not sure I'll get Joe, or my dad or brother-in-law for that matter, to wear one!!)

I'm still thinking of favors for the kids....there will be 5 at the wedding and the coaster favors will be for each couple (or individual guest, if they come w/out a "date"). I think I'll have a lot of fun finding things for them (all boys - no princess shopping for me :sad1: ) They all go to Disney at least once a year, but the wedding will be one of the last days of their trip, so getting them stuff to use for the trip isn't going to work....any suggestions????
So far, I'm thinking lanyard and pins - they all collect!

So far, just the coasters.....and whatever I find for the kids....what did you find there??? I'd love to add a little something else.....I have a feeling by the time it's all over, I'll have spent a ton on favors b/c I keep adding things on. I think, "I only have 18 guests, it's not like I need to buy 50......" and then I'll get it. Sort of a dangerous mentality ;)

Target dollar spot has Pirates laynards. They also have totes and small notebooks. I got those for the boys at our wedding.

I am on the way to the store to get somethings to put in them. Thought I would find a treat and tie them in some sort of netting?

I found a website that sells the Mickey mints (like you buy in the tins at WDW) in bulk.....It's like a 5 lb. bag for $20....I was thinking of ordering them (my sister and I love those mints) - but I certainly don't need all 5 lbs.!! Maybe something like that???
Or if you can find a small plush to have popping out? (Stitch comes to mind.....or, of course, Mickey).

Mary,
Since you are in SFL I would highly recommend taking advantage of the WDW outlet for some of your favors! My DF and I have found loads of fun stuff for as cheap as .25 there! You have one over in Sunrise at Sawgrass Mills.
We purchased all of our bags, t-shirts, note pads, pins, magnets, etc at the one near me in St Augustine.
I LOVE THAT PLACE!
Conrgratulations & happy planning!

I LOVE the Disney outlet! I try to get to the one at Sawgrass a couple of times a month just to see if they've gotten anything new. (I live about 10 minutes from there!) I like to pick up the $2.99 or $3.99 pins for my nephews! They don't care who is on the pin, they just like having those to trade w/ CM's so they don't have to trade their "good" pins!!!

OH! And I forgot to mention that we'll be using Misty Miotto for photography (Randy wasn't available :sad2: )...but she seems really nice and I have no worries about her taking great photos! :thumbsup2 Plus, her packages are right up there w/ Randy...we plan on using our photography "credit" for a honeymoon shoot.

Okay....I think I've settled on my BM dresses.....These are the first ones that I saw that I liked, but I veto'd them off the bat b/c my sister needs to wear a "regular" bra and the straps are skinny. But then we figured, they can add thicker straps! (Hello! ).
So here they are:
bmdress.jpg

The pic shows it in apple, and I've never, EVER thought I'd go with red, but I'm kind of liking it.....
I'm also heavily leaning toward peridot or the pink blush......

AND....
I've scheduled my cake tasting session for May 14th! I'm very excited for a trip to WDW that I can rationalize (:rolleyes1 )......Actually, he might not be able to get off of work, so I just may be heading up solo Monday morning, spending the night at POFQ and then coming home Tuesday. I may meet up with a CM friend, but if not, I think I could use a couple of days on my own! Work has been very stressful the past couple of weeks, just REALLY busy. I am looking forward to heading up there to meet with Jennifer, my WP (by the way, I LOVE her!) - DF has already told me to pick whatever I want....I guess it's sweet that he is more excited about getting married, not the wedding, but come on!!! Men!:lmao: Also, I think over the past few years I've Disney'd him out a bit, so I can go up and stroll around the parks at my leisure and conserve his "Disney energy" for the wedding trip where he'll be bombarded with non-stop WDW fun and activities!!! ;)
