Maryland DISers!

guarn3md,

Do you have a recommendation of where to have Thanksgiving Dinner? We were thinking of a restaurant at a resort. My husband has a dairy allergy so we can't go to a restaurant that is buffet only. Thanks! I hope you will also be wearing your Ravens gear. We think we'll be at Epcot on 11/20 and then AK on Thanksgiving Day. We'll be wearing everything proudly on those game days.

In 2008 I had Thanksgiving Dinner at LeCellier. Don't ask me why...it was ok. They had their normal menu plus Thanksgiving choices. Wouldn't go again and especially now that it is signature dining. Friends of mine went to Boatwrights and loved it. They had a great meal and it was not crowded.
I don't know know where we are going to eat dinner that night and I guess I better figure it ot quickly...my ADR date is 5/22. We did AK in the morning and EP in the evening on Thanksgiving Day 2008 and my tentative plan this year is DTD in the morning and HS in the evening. This year we are being joined by 15 relatives across the country so it will make the dining choices limited and I think the reservations will be harder to get. We have a Grand Gathering number and I will have to call group dining to make the reservations.
I will not be wearing my Ravens gear...I am an Eagles fan! I grew up in Central Jersey so my loyalty lies with the Eagles and Phillies! My son however, is a Ravens fan and also roots for the Eagles and Giants (can't disappoint Mom & Dad). He may be wearing his Ravens gear. We'll see... Connor's love for the Ravens started this year because his 4th grade teacher is a big fan and he has a little crush on his teacher. He had a fieldtrip last Thursday where he toured both Ravens stadium and Oriole Park. He went into the Ravens lockerroom. He said he touched all the players seats in their lockers - especially Ray Lewis and Todd Heap! He had an awesome trip!
Good Luck with the planning...

Hi Debbie,

This will be our third. Our first two were three nights. We are very excited! We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Castaway Cay! Even though we only experienced a small fraction of available things on first two cruises, we still loved them. We are looking forward to doing a lot more this time.

Do you have children that were on the cruise? DD turned 7 on our first cruise and wanted to turn 13 on this one but we will be celebrating a couple weeks before her birthday. We will also be celebrating my DD and DS getting their Black Belts.

Yes my son was 9 for the cruise. He didn't really enjoy the kids club - found it to be too many ages...he would have rather been able to go to the tween club.
My son will be testing for is black belt August 28th! That's too funny... He is currently a red senior. He competes for his Taekwondo school and has qualified for AAU Nationals again this year. He is headed to Austin, Tx the end of June.
We were on the Dream cruise that got a 2nd day at Castaway Cay because the Aquaduck broke. It is was a nice surprise.

guarn3md,

Your plans sound great! I like Philly and it's sports teams.
I think we can make our ressies a day after you.

Annapolis MD here! :wave2: I wish DH and I knew about this group when you met up in Annapolis....oh well. We have lived out here for 4 years now, originally from Colorado. Huge Disney fans, so we're very excited about being just a quick 14 hour drive from WDW!! Unfortunately we aren't planning another trip until our 10th wedding anniversary, 2013. :sad2: But I'll have a ton of fun planning that one, because we're doing it in style! (Poly resort, V&A for dinner....I can't wait!)

Hi Michelle! You have lots of time to get everything planned and dream about your trip. Congrats on the upcoming 10th Anniversary!

ocean134

where are you staying? We'll be at POFQ. What day do you arrive and are you driving or flying? We are flying.

Well, we were going to try to get that trip in but we have put it on hold. I got a PT job (on top of my FT job) at the Disney Store so I am required to work on the holidays. No return trip to WDW until JUne 2012. :sad1:

Hello All!
I'm from Annapolis...
We are headed to WDW in 67 hours to be exact...5:25pm flight from BWI on 5/10! We are tagging along w/DH while he attends the very exciting Pressure Sensitive Tape Conference. Yeah, I know...you all wish you could attend the conference too!
We will also be in WDW for Thanksgiving this year - 11/18 - 11/25!! We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge. This is the 2nd time we will have gone at Thanksgiving...last trip was 2008 and it was awesome. We left saying we must go at that time again. Last year we went over 4th of July. This year we went the couple days leading up to Easter (after our Dream cruise)....just love the holidays in WDW! I am really looking forward to this May trip...should seem dead to us! We also have a Disney Dream cruise planned for 4/1/12 too...
Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there...
Deb
