Anyone seen the Mary Poppins at the theatre in London? I've seen it advertised lots and I think it really looks great! I was just curious what other's think or thought of it (If they have seen it)

saw it in bristol before it went to london, it did a six week pre west end run, sort of a practise thing, it was fab, very different to the film, i loved it and so did the kids!

I saw it soon after it opened in London. Excellent!

My mam's been twice more since and is taking my nephew, (who can talk in a Bert-esque cockney/american accent) back for his third go this week.

Ive seen it twice. once in Bristol and once in London.
its great.. although my 5 year old found it distinctly boring!

We've seen it in London and even DF who hates all things Disney, loved it :thumbsup2

Went to see it two weeks ago in London. Great show but doesn't follow the film that much which dissappointed my younger DD (7). My eldest (10) thought it was great - especially the ending which I won't spoil for you but is really good!!

Me and DH went last Jan time, and both loved it even though we were both really ill at the time.
It is different from the film though.

Supercali...... is fab in the show.
My fave bit!!

I would love to go, it looks amazing. This is as close as I've ever been, though.

The stage show is based closer to the original PL Travers book than the film was. Apparently when she wrote it it was meant to be a story about two spoilt brats who are 'sorted out' by the strict nanny. There is a song where all the mistreated toys come alive in the bedroom and wreak revenge on the two children.

When the film was made it was disneyfied to cut out all the darker elements but the stage show has put them back in. Still very enjoyable though.

That was our favourite bit - really clever. I didn't like it when the toys came to life though!

Hmmmm sounds weird lol. I don't know if i'd enjoy it if it wasn't like the movie. Just like I didn't like the Lion King. I seem to hate any other versions of Disney movies. I went to see a version of Aladdin a few months ago and it was TERRIBLE!!! (thankfully I didn't pay for my ticket! lol)
